I'd love a utility room. It would be great to have my Lakeland heated airer hidden away from view.

I'd also love a bidet. My bathroom, alas, simply isn't big enough. I'm British, but it does surprise me a bit that they've never really taken off in this country. I'd love to have a freshen up down below, just whenever.

Anyway, what about you?

Living the dream! Grin

I wish I were living it.. unfortunately I have neighbours and I'm not allowed to build a gun tower or an electric fence, I mean honestly... do we even have freedom in this country?.. 🤣🤣

Squidtentacles · 21/02/2025 18:25

A downstairs loo.

Another room, or two, for our hobbies.

ThatUniqueKoala · 21/02/2025 18:26

A gas leak and a match. Honestly it would be an improvement

A mile of land in every direction with no cunt on it.

DH, Is that you?

MathiasBroucek · 21/02/2025 18:27

A West Wing....

jellyfishperiwinkle · 21/02/2025 18:28

A yoga studio/gym. Another reception room.

Shodan · 21/02/2025 18:29

We had a utility room when I was growing up and I think I kind of assumed that all houses would have one.

Sadly they do not. And I still don't have one. I want one. It seems like a very grown up thing to have, like a drinks cabinet.

And I want a craft/sewing room, where I can have my sewing machine set up and a wall of shelves for yarn, bolts of fabric, racks of thread...Hobbycraft. I want Hobbycraft in my house.

Oh and a piano room.

IAmNeverThePerson · 21/02/2025 18:30

A hall wide enough for a coat cupboard.

plominoagain · 21/02/2025 18:31

I have no one living behind me for about 8 miles , and no one in front of me for about 4 . Sadly I have a bunch of cunts living to my left , which ruins the peace .

Other than that , I'd like to turn my annexe bit into a proper library /snug , with squashy chairs and a wood burner for the chilly evenings .

DingDongAlong · 21/02/2025 18:34

If money was no object... I'd have the loft converted. It would create another bedroom, freeing up the little single room to be an office/piano room for me.

Yes, a hall (any sort of hall) our front door goes straight into our dining room. I'd love somewhere to come in and put our stuff.

Edited to say that we're very grateful for our home but the hall was the compromise as sadly our budget wouldn't stretch to all the things we would have liked.

QOD · 21/02/2025 18:35

We added a huge upstairs family bathroom to our house in the wasted roof space, I kinda wish now that I’d had the washing machine put in a built in up there. Why do we traditionally lug everything downstairs to wash?
i have laundry area in the integral garage but it looks like a squat lol

Dollydaydream100 · 21/02/2025 18:36

I'd love a Mediterranean style patio leading from our orangery with some lovely mellow flagstones, loads of terracotta pots with fragrant plants and a pergola with jasmine and wisteria and all those gorgeous climbing plants trailing up it.
At the moment we have crumbling decking that's an absolute death trap!

The reality is that summers are so crap in this country that it doesn't seem worth spending money on the outdoors, when I see people putting in outdoor kitchen etc on Instagram I just think "when on earth do you get to use it"? There must be about two evenings a year warm enough to cook outside of an evening. We haven't even had a barbecue since lockdown and that freak warm weather we had. Indoors apart from updating a few things I pretty much have my dream home.

QOD · 21/02/2025 18:36

Oh and I wanted a larder cupboard when we put our kitchen in but it was horrendous expensive. Bloody husband is a chippy so why didn’t I just make him make one? Shit tons of room

Springadorable · 21/02/2025 18:37

Five bedrooms and ten acres.

typicaltuesdaynight · 21/02/2025 18:37

I'd love an utility room and a toy/ gaming room for my kids

DisforDarkChocolate · 21/02/2025 18:37

Oh how I miss my utility. It wouldn't need to be very big but I'd love one in my new house.

HeebieJeebeez · 21/02/2025 18:38

Utility
Another bedroom

RIPVPROG · 21/02/2025 18:38

Utility/boot room ideally with a shower for when we come back from the beach, sun room/kitchen side extension, loft conversion.

Pascha · 21/02/2025 18:38

I have a utility] room and a nice big kitchen. I'd like an extra bedroom upstairs and off road parking.

StrongasSixpence · 21/02/2025 18:39

A second loo. An outdoor brick pizza oven and grill. I could do both of these if I wanted to but not much point as we want to move soon.

Either a separate sitting room and dining room or a sitting room and a kitchen large enough for a big dining table. Will need to move to get this.

I just had one fitted and it was ridiculously expensive as a percentage of the kitchen, but I love it. Get him to build you one now!

GoodQueenBess · 21/02/2025 18:39

A new wing.

BeachRide · 21/02/2025 18:40

A bath and GCH. I'm easily pleased

aylis · 21/02/2025 18:41

Another bedroom, so we could all have our own dedicated space instead of musical beds and couches (separated but living in the same house), a utility room and a big old library.
