To ask who is the biggest grifter you've seen?

I remember Anthea Turner punting flakes at her wedding. Carol Vorderman was always quick to front a financial product. Just seen Carole Malone on my timeline oiling on about weight loss jabs.

Any others spring to mind?

Agree with all the ones being posted, particularly Farage, Mone, Johnson, Tate and the Royals.

I would add in any celebrity who appears on reality TV programme after reality TV programme (talk about going to the opening of an envelope!). Also I suggest any of these celebs who get paid to go on holiday abroad time and time again - Jane McDonald in particular springs to mind.

Caroline Hirons. Claims to be an unbiased skincare expert, will shill any brand that pays her including ones she slagged off in the past. Told people not to go into debt or use credit cards for skincare, offers Klarna on her website. Told people not to overspend on cleansers and moisturisers, released her own shockingly overpriced products and wants people to do just that.

Agree - MP for the most deprived constituency in England and he’s earned £635k from side jobs on top of his MP salary since last July.

I am smiling as I write in reaction to the suggestion that Captain Tom was a grifter.

He was never in the regular army and was conscripted to serve in WW2 in 1940 and demobbed in 1946.

He became an officer, as some did while offers were offered and refused.
(A master in my father’s secondary school for one as the compulsory map case and pistol made them targets and this young man wanted to see his family again.)

Tom received what they called battlefield promotions. He and his family must have understandably proud of that.

Some of my father’s friends came home with similar ranks and happily returned to their careers as teachers, factory workers, accountants - even one dancer. All glad to Mr again, back in civvy street.

Tom retained his rank, although conscripts did not normally do so, and he retained for all of 65 years for 75 years.

Draw your own conclusions.

She's not grifting.
She's actually being sensible, cos no one is going to give her the time of day in a few years time; so she needs to earn a pound note while she can.

She gets on your nerves, for whatever reason, but that doesn't make her a grifter.

add the odious Katie Hopkins to that list. I wonder if all that lot really believe the vile shite they come out with and just do it because they know there is an audience who lap it up. Having said that, I do think that the chinless oddity Tate does believe the horrific stuff he spouts

Angela Rippon used to be on Rip Off Britain exposing faulty Smart Meters and rogue energy companies and their nefarious activities. Now she's switched sides and is promoting Smart Meters. I would have thought she'd have had more integrity but I suppose everyone will sell out for a price. Shame on you Angela Rippof.
