Need a OTT message for a goodbye card to nasty colleague.

Posting here for traffic.

For the last 4 years, I have worked with an older male colleague who made my working life hell. Long story short, he would gaslight me, take credit for my work and ideas and put me down at any given opportunity which made him look good to others. He is idolised in our department by some, including our line manager, who at the time, would play down my concerns, even with written evidence and screenshots.

Anyway, he has just announced he is retiring and a card is being sent round the team to sign.

I know if I don't sign it, it will look like he has got to me (which he has), but I don't want to give him the satisfaction of that, so I thought of writing something over the top, that to anyone else reading it when signing it, won't see I'm being sarcastic and already counting down the hours until he goes!

Yes this is probably petty, but I know mumsnet is great for things like this to help me with.

Best so far especially written as a sentence!

Mumofgirls39 · 20/02/2025 21:22

I reserve a simple "Best" for the knobheads I work with but this is in emails. With leaving cards of horrible colleagues, I keep it succinct and I'm very happy for them to know I didn't give a shit enough to muster up a complex sentence for their card.

Mumofgirls39 · 20/02/2025 21:23

Is it a digital card OP? If so, sign off with the old chestnut typo of four kisses:

cxxx

See you next Tuesday

Hotflushesandchilblains · 20/02/2025 21:37

It just wont be the same without you!

Youcantwinthemall · 20/02/2025 21:38

My favourite pass-agg leaving message is ‘I’ve learnt so much from you’ [like how not to be a total wanker in the workplace]

Ger1atricMillennial · 20/02/2025 21:38

Don't even sign it, he won't read it anyway.

Enjoy your peace.

whiteswan87 · 20/02/2025 21:41

Definitely don't sign!!

MissHollysDolly · 20/02/2025 21:45

Get well soon!

Buddhalover · 20/02/2025 21:58

Adiós ass hole!

JazzieC · 20/02/2025 22:01

'Good luck' and your name. Perfectly civil but could also be read as flat and sarcastic.

CleansUpButWouldPreferNotTo · 20/02/2025 22:02

Things will be very different around here without you!

Thanks for all the good times... and the rest of the time that we just tolerated each other.

Drylogsonly · 20/02/2025 22:22

Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die… take the higher ground OP.
and take comfort in the fact that shitty people who behave in a shitty manner usually get it back in spades.

MiniPumpkin · 20/02/2025 22:36

Years ago when on a student placement my supervisor made clear she wasnt a fan of me.
everyone wrote lovely messages in my leaving card.
what did she write ? She wrote ‘bye’ 🤣

"Words can't express my feelings on your leaving."

❤️

LastRoIo · 20/02/2025 22:39

Just draw a big 🍆 on it lol.

ThinWomansBrain · 20/02/2025 22:45

try chat gpt - can come up with brilliant suggestions
although it tries to be polite - you may need to nudge it to be nastier 😁

TheDevilWearPrimarni · 20/02/2025 22:48

Missing you already!

😂😂😂😂 Brilliant!!

Crispynoodle · 20/02/2025 23:45

I just didn't sign the card nor make a donation to the leaving present. In fact I wished her well in her retirement before skipping around the office!
