To ask how to best handle this car blocking my drive?

I live near to a football stadium and the team are currently playing. Somebody has parked right across my drive and blocked me in. I assume they have gone the match.

You need a residents pass to park round here and it doesn't look like they have one. Looks like I'm trapped until they come back.

What's best to do? Can I report them to the council? Leave a note? Confront them upon their return. Or is all of that pointless?

I wanted to go to the supermarket which will likely be closed by the time they're back.

Years ago we had to get our toddler daughter to a hospital appointment and a car was blocking us in . We checked to see if they were visiting near neighbours before calling the police.
My husband also told them the car wasn't locked , they told him to put the handbrake off and push it out of the way !

@Parkingdrama00 I would just phone the police! that is an offence because your vehicle is on the drive! if drive was empty it would be a different story!!

If the tow truck doesn't get there in time I'd be getting a neighbour or two to park blocking this car in as soon as an opportunity arises! And when CF asks who's car it is, I'd say that they've just left for the airport in a taxi, they're off on a2 week holiday!

Good luck OP I hope the tow truck turns up soon. I would be reluctant to go to the supermarket because I'd really want to see the look on Inconsiderate Arsewipe's face when they return to no car.

At our old house neighbour’s mil used to do it. No idea why as lots of parking. One day dh got a call to rush to hospital and reversed into her. Obviously it was his fault but neighbours were very apologetic and funny enough she didn’t do it again.

I REALLY hope the car is towed. What goes through someone's mind to do something like this? You need to have an old banger parked in your driveway on match days. You know, one with a very dodgy handbrake that could malfunction at any time😆😆

Really hope it gets towed and they have to pay an extortionate fee!!! That's what they get for being too tight to pay for match day parking or a taxi to the grounds! I would never dream in a million years of blocking someone in, if it isn't illegal it should be!!

We bounced a friends Nissan Micra round the corner once as a joke!

We pushed a mates new car into his garage whilst he was asleep.

He was panicking like crazy as he'd just bought it and was off to phone the Police. We told him to look in the garage, but he wouldn't have it that it would be in there.

We had to unplug the phone before he hit the last 9 of 999 and tell him we put it in there.

It took us a lot of rounds in the pub to make up for that.

To those asking, yes it's a proper drive with dropped kerb.

If they block you in you can call the police- they don't care if you're blocked out but will yak action if you're actually stuck and can't get to the highway
