To ask how to best handle this car blocking my drive?

I live near to a football stadium and the team are currently playing. Somebody has parked right across my drive and blocked me in. I assume they have gone the match.

You need a residents pass to park round here and it doesn't look like they have one. Looks like I'm trapped until they come back.

What's best to do? Can I report them to the council? Leave a note? Confront them upon their return. Or is all of that pointless?

I wanted to go to the supermarket which will likely be closed by the time they're back.

I was The Car once. Hilariously, my now husband told me to park there, at the back of his mums house while we went to the match. I didn't think it was fine as I knew about the restrictions in the area but I stupidly believed him. He didn't tell his mum either about the car, or me at that point, so I got back to find a ticket on the car as she'd phoned the parking wardens.

Tldr, the wardens LOVE getting a call through to tell them where to stick the world's easiest ticket on a car, phone them lol

Once it's "lifted" (i.e. its wheels have left the ground). I can't see any tow truck driver who's working on a Sunday being kind and putting it back down - unless the car driver makes it worth their while.

Assuming it's a Wolves supporters car - they lost and his car gets towed. Not a good day!

They really need to get the car out of there before the driver gets back otherwise he'll just plead with them and apologise and he'll get away with it. HURRY UP tow truck matey boy.

Out of interest, if the owner gets back and the car has gone, how do they know how to get it back or where it's gone? Do they pin a note to the empty tarmac? 😂

Legally speaking, once it is off the ground and on the truck then it doesn't have to be put back down.

The only time that the removal process will normally stop is if someone jumps inside it as it's being removed. The police then can get them out of the car.

I have no sympathy at all for the driver. In most areas, the local council will employ more tow truck operatives on event days (concerts / sports events) because they know people will park like dickheads.

Can you imagine his face if he walks around the corner just in time to see his car disappearing off into the sunset with no means to follow it and no idea where the police station is?

What happens is the Cunty Parker calls police to report car stolen. Police then advise it has been towed.
