To be very weirded out by Elon Musks reproductive choices

I think he's up to twelve or thirteen children now with no sign of stopping and seems to have a very transactional approach to impregnating a series of women (presumably through IVF). It really speaks to looking at women as baby machines.
The colossal ego he has about maintaining his bloodline is so noxious.
I'm worried someone like him is so influential.
We'll be in the handmaid's tale before long.

He's a very sinister figure and I agree we should all be concerned about the extent of his influence. The thing that worries me the most is his relentless striving for power. Money seems to be a secondary consideration. He blew a fortune on twitter but it gives him huge power. Now he has Trump under his thumb and he's trying to get control of AI as well. Anyone not concerned by this is a fool.

Exactly - with his insane wealth, money means nothing. He needs a purpose, a pursuit.

Because the planet doesn't need that many additional human beings on it.

We need fairly healthy babies and if their parents live in safe countries, are solvent and they can access education, they are the human beings that we are short of.

Why are you bothered? Is your own life so dull?

It is precisely this type of lazy apathy that allows the wrong sort of leadership to continue unchallenged.

It freaks me out that almost all his kids are boys, wondering if he chose the sex as well. Grim

Out of his last 4-5 kids, at least 2 are girls. Last baby the gender is unknown.

Serpentstooth · 15/02/2025 14:28

One day, many of these surrogate children, not just Musk's, will band together in a lawsuit and demand compensation for being denied the option of a life with natural parents. For Musk, it's like puppy-farming. Hoarding children should be illegal. Like abortion is now over there, Elon.

Because he had a huge amount of power and he is dangerous

I believe he must have done the sex selection thing. The guy believes in eugenics after all and probably why most of his children are ivf.

Very horrid man.

OswaldCobblepot · 15/02/2025 14:29

The way he behaved over the cave incident tells me all I need to know about this man.

I agree with this to an extent, but what happens if all those children grow up with the power hungry mindset Musk has?

Yeah, it's not like any of us are affected by what he thinks or does 🙄

NinaNobody · 15/02/2025 14:31

I can't help but like him. I can understand why he wants to pass on his genes and it's not like he can't afford them?!

Serpentstooth · 15/02/2025 14:34

You need to seek help and while doing so, read up on the 1930s.

wherearemypastnames · 15/02/2025 14:36

We are not short of childen on this planet

We are not short of childen with good genes on this planet

We are short of the love and compassion that would enable those children to thrive

We are short of the meritocracy that would enable the best of those childen to be given the responsibilities that they could best handle for the good of all

LizzieSiddal · 15/02/2025 14:36

He’s a vile person and needs to stop producing children as if they’re a product.

LilacLilias · 15/02/2025 14:37

MayaPinion · 15/02/2025 13:56

Elon Musk is a very strange man and that’s worrying because he effectively owns Trump and appears to enjoy throwing his weight around with other governments as well. There’s more than a touch of Dr Evil/Blofeld/Lex Luthor about him.

I have been saying he has Lex Luther vibes for so long!!! Glad someone else also thinks this 😆

What genes is he passing on? I can't imagine wanting to have a little Elon. There are many technically-intelligent and rich men to have kids with who also have what Musky man doesn't: handsome, eloquent, emotionally intelligent, kind, reasonable, compassionate, able to see and accept more than their point of view, not power-hungry and to the detriment of a fair society, etc. His 2 out of atleast 10 qualities of these men mean he's not such a good catch.

'Rich, sociopathic and tunnel-visioned' isn't a good deal for anyone except people who only care about the 'rich' part. Those women are awful too.

Lyannaa · 15/02/2025 14:38

There is a pattern of sociopathic men reproducing with many women and everyone thinking that's ok, if a woman did it, no way would she be in a position of power in a government.

monsterfish · 15/02/2025 14:42

He has stated repeatedly that the birth rate in western countries is falling too much & too quickly and it needs to be reversed. Guess he thinks he is setting an example by fathering as many children as we can.

bizarre from a country that does the bare minimum for maternity benefits (about 2 weeks). Maternal health care in the United States has significant challenges, including a high maternal mortality rate, lack of access to care, and health disparities.

he might want to start there to encourage more women to have children.

JohnofWessex · 15/02/2025 14:47

I'm a father of three

While I dont think its impossible and I could in theory at least as a man have had a lot more, I'm not sure that if I had more I would have been able to be their 'father' in an effective way and influence their lives.

In the same way I am sure we have all come across people whose 'father' isnt there biological father / mother

So while I could have had more, lots more in theory in practice I suggest that having many more than the three I have might pass on my genes (hopefully there isnt one for dress sense) I am not sure how much of my interests ideas etc would pass on as thats whats important to me anyway.

I thought this thread was about Mr Musks reproductive choices, not his potential to be a bond villain?

There is nothing anyone can do about him, bar impotent whinging on websites like this.

KimberleyClark · 15/02/2025 14:54

His dad has two children with his own stepdaughter. He married her mother when she (stepdaughter) was three and stayed married to her for 19 years. Beyond grim.No wonder Elon is like he is with that example.

HotTake · 15/02/2025 14:55

Great genes to pass on indeed.

Nonsense. There is no legal basis for his unelected position. There is plenty that the Supreme Court could do, were it so inclined.
