To think Trump might be the right Leader for right now?

Theemeperorsnewclothes · 12/02/2025 23:25

I am so confused why I am starting to think that Trump might be a good thing right now. I do think he is making the right moves to end conflict right now, which of course can only be a good thing for the poor people suffering in war zones but I’m so conflicted. I was trying to search for why I felt this way and what past war and future war situations might mean with Trump at the helm. Below are notes to myself. I know you educated, worldly wise mums will absolutely be able to educate on what I am missing. I am genuinely interested to hear your perspectives.

Why do wars start?
War is caused by many different things, including competition over land, religious conflicts, and nationalism. Imperialism, racism, and slavery have also been causes of armed conflict.
Why do wars end?
Realistically, wars usually end when one side wins or the parties experience significant war weariness. Thus, World War I was only a temporary end-of-war because there was no clear-cut victory.
We need to put an end to why wars start, not why wars end. Too much devastation and destruction and loss of life when a war starts. In this case, like the war in Gaza there has been no clear “winner” there has been constant and significant “war weariness” but some other country/political party/religious group steps in. However, there is still never a “clear-cut victory”
Tackle the issues that START wars and not STOP wars in the first place. A true leader will make their priority tackling all the issues that start wars. Trump needs to prove himself in this approach.
That said, we are in a very volatile world and ENDING wars is the first priority. Trump appears to have that in his sights. I say this as far left viewer of the world, as opposed to the right take on the world, as it is today.
I don’t care if you are left or right or somewhere in between. War must end now and we must have a leader who can figure out how to stop it happening again. The end. The Leader who can STOP wars happening in the first place, is the one who can save humanity. Right now, we need the wars to end, and like it or not, that is the position we find ourselves in, and that’s why, I currently think it might be Trump.

Anyone have any idea who is the leader who can STOP wars happening in the first place? I’m thinking they would need to be free from corruption and probably not an egotistical, power hungry male.

End of my rant 😁.

Infant mortality rises in states with abortion bans, study finds

More playing the long game

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) website for the office of research on women’s health, which as recently as 25 January had pages about “supporting women in biomedical careers” and “women’s health funding opportunities”, had been stripped of information, including a portal about maternal morbidity and mortality.

What's the source of that copy and paste?

If me' my own creation ' making sections then putting it together then used grammerly for spelling and grammer

What's the source of that copy and paste?

It's a load of bollocks designed to make us think that all politicians are the same, we don't get a say in important things that affect us, and we should get back in our box and stop going against the almighty Trump so that he and Putin can rape and plunder Ukraine while the world stays silent.

I completely understand where you are coming from. However this “orange psychopath” appears to be brokering peace deals for now. But only for now

How exactly is he brokering anything when he’s only in discussion with one party and has already signalled huge concessions to it?

Don’t you think Ukraine should have some input when it’s the country’s future being determinec?

You find his proposal to force Palestinians from what’s left of their land seemingly whether they like it or not acceptable?

Brokering, my arse!

I'd be intrigued to see you do an analysis and point by point show how the essay is wrong

I'm dyslexic and struggle with spelling and grammer and as some fellows on here focus on a persons spelling on different threads recent example was how someone spelt Iraq. So I use grammerly to fix the spelling and grammer.

A well constructed essay will set out the question, cite relevant facts & corresponding sources, before coming to a conclusion based on interpretation of the information.

Whatever that was it wasn't an essay

I'm not going to go through your piece point by point. I think others are trying to say that it's an opinion piece- you're just giving us your thoughts. Generally, an essay is attempting to assert a thesis and then support it with relevant facts with corresponding sources and references.

Genuinely, are you quite young @Cupcakes2035?

Fair points ' as for age' no comment as I try to seem worldly and educated in a fashion

I think most people would agree that if you have a lot of money you can often leverage it to influence things towards the outcome you want. Political candidates depend on donor funding and lots of other people in a position to make a difference either like or need money.

The jump from that observation to the conclusion (I'm not even sure what the conclusion is- democracy is broken, voting is pointless?) seems completely unsupported by argument or facts.

Nanny0gg · 15/02/2025 16:08

Theemeperorsnewclothes · 15/02/2025 01:49

Jesus Christ @Nanny0gg you would rather be a peadophiles supporter over a Trump supporter. Standard. This is how division is created. It’s okay to say, I don’t really support all of Trumps policies over jumping to “the sentences might be lenient but they are within guidelines” for Peadophiles! What the actual fuck is wrong with you.

Don't be so bloody ridiculous!

The guidelines are wrong! That's what needs changing.

I'd be happy if they were locked up and they threw away the key!

We don't even lock them up here because prisons are too full.

I knew someone would deliberately miss the point

What an absurdly stupid post.

Indeed.

Thank you

LillyPJ · 15/02/2025 16:13

Unfortunately, I think there will always be wars. Maybe Trump will stop current ones but it seems more likely to me that he'll cause division and stir up hatred (which he's done already) and that can only be a bad thing. One of the major causes of war is belligerent, arrogant men throwing their weight about, of which Trump is a prime example.

Should we use ChatGPT as well? You could just put the prompt in too and save us the time.

It amazes me that people who apparently care about women’s health and safety don’t care about this.

Trump and I agree on one thing - "we need to stop killing people".

Nothing else has worked so far for the Gazan, Ukrainian, Sudanese, Yemeni, Congo, etc wars so I'll give the Orange One a chance.

And with regards to Trump's skin colour and tone; be very careful with criticising this too much as it could come back to bite you. He's a white man who chooses to be orange and identifies with that.

His skin, his choice.

How do you think he will stop war in Sudan, Yemen, Congo etc etc ? Has he got the magic wand that noone else has??

I

My take on democracy was inspired by the house of cards use of democracy, and Parelle's with reality

If Canada becomes part of America will it just be one state or will each province become it's own state?

How many more states will it need to have a bigglier number than the Soviet Union after they have tried to give Europe to Putin?

OonaStubbs · 15/02/2025 20:57

Well Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories so if they all become states that will total 63 states in the US so they will have to change the flag to add more stars.

And the republicans could kiss goodbye to their electoral chances for a long time.

HaveYouTrumped · 15/02/2025 21:04

@AgnesX does he want to stop those?

He wants to stop Israel and gaza/Russia and Ukraine because the USA is funding them?
They don't want too.

HaveYouTrumped · 15/02/2025 21:06

They don't really care about Russia I don't think, it's China that's the biggest threat
