Ainu to think Angela Rayners has been set up to fail on her 1.5m homes target ?
you can barely get planning permission through for a small extension in under 10 weeks let alone 1.5 m new homes
Every month that goes by the shortage compounds
I wonder if Kier has set her up to fail

Has there ever been a more out of their depth government Just putting on army fatigues doesn’t make you a war hero Starmer. I’m so angry with them all such liars and incompetence is truly breathtaking. Thinking of my two great uncles killed in WW1 18/19 years old for bloody what ! Now someone else’s son will be killed as have Russians and Ukrainians. My sons best friend at school was Russian he was at boarding school here his two friends at home one shot then selves in the leg to not be conscripted and last year when the age of conscription dropped to 18 his other friend killed himself. Just fuck off Starmer no ones going to defend this toxic ness you go first

@Parsley1234 this is awful, I'm sorry and I agree

TheNuthatch · 19/02/2025 13:17

Starmer's gone very quiet since his bollocking from Sholz hasn't he?

Parsley1234 · 19/02/2025 13:51

@TheNuthatch please dear god he has permanently. As a side note my great uncles were one of 5 children my grandma was the only one of the three remaining women to be married there were no men left they had all been killed my grandfather was police hence he wasn’t conscripted. These bloody clowns 🤡 need to be in the front can you imagine 🤦‍♀️🤣

Parsley1234 · 19/02/2025 13:54

See @Upstartled 's post on Page 34 (17th at 18.59).
According to some media, Sholz actually stormed out of the meeting in Paris. He spoke to the press afterwards and had nothing good to say about Starmer's proposals.

TheNuthatch · 19/02/2025 15:01

I like Boris Johnsons's take on the current situation. I know hes not popular on MN. He calls out Trump on his latest bullshit without insulting him. He says Europe needs to step up fast. Trump bashing is not the way to get Ukraine the help and support they need.

Upstartled · 19/02/2025 15:01

And...now Macron is qualifying his position by making clear that he won't be sending soldiers to the frontline. Now it's all about experts and a 'limited number' of troops to help the Ukraine's do all the heavy lifting.

Backpedalling much. That may explain why Starmer's gone quiet. What a pair of idiots they are.
I thought Macron was trying to arrange another meeting of European leaders because he didn't like the answer given at the first one?

Upstartled · 19/02/2025 15:16

Yeah, he is, that is still happening today.

Parsley1234 · 19/02/2025 15:21

@TheNuthatch bet Starmers wife is regretting one big proposal 🤦‍♀️

TheNuthatch · 19/02/2025 19:34

Trump is now calling VZ a dictator and blaming Ukraine for starting the war! WTF!

Parsley1234 · 19/02/2025 19:49

@TheNuthatch rewrite of history

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 19/02/2025 20:01

It’s all beyond bizarre.

The EU, the very same thing that was supposed to cement European unity is a scene for tantrums and arguments.

Is Trump siding with Russia at the expense of Europe?

Is Russia going for an approachment with the US at Iran’s detriment?

Is NATO going to hold?

Is the bloody asteroid going to go away?

Scary times.

EasternStandard · 19/02/2025 20:05

@ChardonnaysBeastlyCat ha I haven't engaged on the asteroid one. Just hid that thread

A bloody asteroid on top of everything.

The troops thing from Macron and Starmer was pure posturing. Looks like KS has realised getting all Billy big bolls went down like a fart in an elevator.

TheNuthatch · 19/02/2025 20:11

@ChardonnaysBeastlyCat Yes! This is exactly how I feel tonight.
What a mess. I was hoping he would back down after teaching Europe a lesson, and maybe Europe showing Trump some deference, but it looks like it's gone too far now.
Full disclosure, we're a military family. Dh no longer serving (thankfully) but two family members in the forces. I also have dc in one of the nato countries vulnerable to Russia.
Are there no decent world leaders left?

Same. This is beyond bad. Trump gaslighting the world and God knows what he’ll do or say next.

Yes I remember blossom. It's a sickening feeling isn't it? We have one thing in common at least don't we 😂.

No, there is an actual asteroid hurtling towards us apparently. And Bruce Willis is sadly not on fighting form.

You couldn't make it up!

'Bruce Willis is sadly not on fighting form' 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for giving me a laugh.
Just when a thread gets too serious, up pops chardonnay 😂

Jonny Reynolds is being accused of lying to the house in his maiden speech. He claimed to be a solicitor working in Manchester, when in fact he never qualified. He will have to resign surely?
This would be a much bigger story in different circumstances.

EasternStandard · 19/02/2025 21:53

Administrative came up again

As did lessons learned

Difficult decisions

And inherited

Every Labour interview in the morning sounds the same. Too irritating

TheNuthatch · 19/02/2025 21:57

Yes I heard all that too.
If he's found to have lied to the house though? That's got to be taken more seriously hasn't it?

EasternStandard · 19/02/2025 21:59

I'm not sure there was rubbish about LinkedIn and websites but no answer on the house

Parsley1234 · 19/02/2025 22:55

@EasternStandard @TheNuthatch he looks wrong though doesn’t he in every interview he comes across as a complete twit
