Ainu to think Angela Rayners has been set up to fail on her 1.5m homes target ?
you can barely get planning permission through for a small extension in under 10 weeks let alone 1.5 m new homes
Every month that goes by the shortage compounds
I wonder if Kier has set her up to fail

"They had a golden opportunity and they have fucked it up."

They have had just over 6 months in govt after 14 years of tory.

And in that time have successfully crashed the economy and succeeded in losing % of opinion in polls to Reform.

Of course he has. She will be the fall guy. She’s a bit like Harris who was put in charge of the US border, when her handlers knew she had neither the intelligence, nor the political ability to get something like that done. Rayner is in same league.

Two Tier has his favourites. Rachel from accounts and Red Miliband. The former trashes the economy to give billions to the latter to piss up the wall. And the country just plunges deeper into oblivion.

Buckle up everyone. It’s gonna be a rough ride.

Harris has a level of intelligence that would likely put you to shame.

Please explain how the economy wasn't already crashed?! She inherited an economy deep in stagflation and pretty drastic action is the only way out of that.

And sadly, it seems that % of people answering opinion polls believe the lies fed by Reform. They literally have no one in their company capable of running any part of the country.

I can't be bothered to re-post links from across the political spectrum about what the impact of Labour's policies have been but of you RTFT you will find them.

I mean, people believed Labour's lies prior to the election didn't they?

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 12:19

@justteanbiscuits there's an FT quote further down the thread

Plenty in the press, all of it, explaining the economic impact of Labour's policies

Yes, there are economic impacts. It was very clear that to fix the mess there were going to be some pretty huge economic impacts. Didn't they say "it will get worse before it gets better"?

You're talking like they inherited anything like a healthy economy. They didn't.

I think Harris has level of intelligence that would definitely put both RR and AR into deep shame

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 12:24

The first quarter 2024 growth was good at 0.7

Since the GE the private sector has been shrinking and now we see the impact on the jobs market, reported on today

It's easy to follow the thread of what's happening

Unless you're the chancellor and PM or Labour

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 12:25

@justteanbiscuits do you think Labour expected they would decrease growth, shrink the private sector, cause job losses and get us closer to recession?

Sherbs12 · 10/02/2025 12:26

An interesting poll, for those who are interested, issued today by YouGov.

Hang on, they inherited growing economy, buoyant labour market with growing wedges and declining inflation.

They also inherited underfunded (or rather mismanaged) public services.

Textbook approach - grow economy by making it attractive for investments, incentivise work, cut inefficiency. In a couple of years your tax take grow and then you invest. They did EVERYTHING opposite.

@mowmiaow it isn't any other party who are calling for mass trolling online FYI like Labour are

What????? @twistyizzy where did you get it from? please say it's fake! this can't be true!

These are Putin's technics exactly!

No, no, no…you don’t understand! Trolling is bad, unless it’s Labour trolling. Because that’s for the greater good. Likewise, corruption is bad, unless it’s Labour corruption. Then, it’s ’nothing to see here’. Cronyism is also bad, unless it’s Labour cronyism. Then it’s ’but that’s just how it’s always been done’. Pushing the elderly and disabled into poverty is bad, unless it’s as a result of Labour policy. Then it’s ‘but we have to pay the public sector more’. Private sector employers are of course bad, unless you need growth. In which case it’s ’of course increased costs won’t impact growth’ ☺️

LostittoBostik · 09/02/2025 23:04

Oh god.

And here we come to the conclusion that Putin wants.

I hope this is just another bot.

I don't think you understand how bots work or have the ability to identify one. Not everything you read and disagree with will come from a bot. That ironically, sounds very Putin like. We worry, me included, about too much that we cannot control and we believe naively that by voting from a list of a handful of names, picked by a handful of people, that it will resolve everything. Four years later, it has resolved nothing, so we do it again. So who really is the bot?

TheNuthatch · 10/02/2025 13:59

@Tryingtokeepgoing

Expert analysis. They are like a bloody cult.

We should add to your list -
Arresting migrants and parading it on tv, bad. Unless labour are doing it.

@justteanbiscuits I'm wondering too

scorpiogirly · 10/02/2025 14:25

She set herself up to fail. As did all the other Labour snakes.

Parsley1234 · 10/02/2025 14:29

@Catsandcheese at least with Sunak you felt he had a grasp on economics

There is a recession coming if it hasn't already started, it is a global one, not a UK only version:-

When you hate the labour party as much as many of you posting here do, it must be really convenient to have them to blame now, what would you be saying if we still had Sunak or Truss.

As much as people can't fault Labour their polices and budget have impacted jobs.

It's all covered if people read up a bit

So you want us to blame Trump for the actions of the UK government. Gotcha

Don't think so. You can't forget covid where he spunked billions of pounds to fraudsters under the support schemes and still managed to exclude 3 million workers from the support. I don't think he was anywhere near as competent as some people make him out to be.
