Ainu to think Angela Rayners has been set up to fail on her 1.5m homes target ?
you can barely get planning permission through for a small extension in under 10 weeks let alone 1.5 m new homes
Every month that goes by the shortage compounds
I wonder if Kier has set her up to fail

@twistyizzy if you don't have any actual suggestions on who you would prefer for these roles, then I suggest your only agenda on here is to bitch about Labour.

Go on - you can pick ANYONE from any party? Please tell us?

As they are the party in government that is irrelevant because we aren't going to get an alternate party until the next election.
However much you goad me 😆

I'll pick one for you, Rishi Sunak!
And yes I would rather have Hunt running the economy alongside him.
They must be laughing their arses off every time they read the FT

I agree 0.7 growth in one quarter compared to recession slow motion car crash

Sunak knew what would happen and here we are

Everyone seems to have forgotten Truss, Brexit (courtesy of Cameron) and the shitshow financial legacy the Tories have given us in their 15 odd years.

But happy to blame Labour who have been in govt just a few months. Not to mention the health service on its knees, higher child poverty rates than ever, greater wealth inequality, reliance on food banks, Truss's impact on mortgages and that massive pile of shit.

Let's also forget about Partygate, let them die, etc etc from the "worst PM" as recently declared, Bojo.

Weird how memories can be so short. Let's blame it all on Labour though!

I'm happy to blame the tories for all of this actually. Although I think Corbyn should also be blamed for Brexit.

I will continue to blame Labour for their actions since the election.

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 12:00

Ok I get your agenda now.

What is yours @mowmiaow?

Behind Labour as jobs are lost and recession gets closer, why?

Are you public sector by any chance

TheNuthatch · 10/02/2025 12:01

To use your own words "then I suggest your only agenda on here is to bitch about Tories/Reform"

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 12:04

Surely most people would be concerned with job losses

Except Labour, why not though?

This is the same pp who thinks Jas Athwal is innocent.

My "agenda" as a MN user on this thread, is to counter bullshit propaganda, nasty bitching like "Rachel from accounts" etc, and smearing that leads us into a Tory / Reform nightmare.

No I am not a public sector worker.

A concerned citizen who can't stand the tories and hates right far right and what's happening to the UK. Tories and Farage have fucked us over so hard. And idiots are falling for it and pushing for it on MN. Shameful.

He also correctly predicted what would happen if the tories elected Liz Truss.

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 12:07

@mowmiaow why don't you include being concerned about job losses in your agenda?

Do you feel it won't impact you?

These are people's livelihoods

Never even looked him up before this thread. I posted one link having looked him up and that link said he was innocent.

Perhaps direct your concern to Starmer if you are so worried. I am sure he would be sacking him if he was concerned.

You were the one who started using the word "agenda".
And using language like you have above is exactly what pushes people towards Reform etc except you are too blind to see it.
Every time Labour lie/obfuscate etc they increase Reform's chances. They had a golden opportunity and they have fucked it up.
You think you are so morally and intellectually superior?

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 12:08

@TheNuthatch he did. Two correct predictions

He got trounced by the press though, and here we are with this car crash

See - not the same? or not being PM makes it excusable?
Second Labour MP apologises over WhatsApp comments - BBC News

Truss's impact on mortgages and that massive pile of shit

RR made it ultimately worse - rates are coming back. Businesses lost as a direct result of Labour budget will not. And high fliers/high earners leaving UK in droves won't return soon. And whilst Tory f..ed it, they were quick to remove Truss. These zealots aren't budging.

"They had a golden opportunity and they have fucked it up."

They have had just over 6 months in govt after 14 years of tory.

Ok, you can be all of that and still accept that this Labour government are a shit show! My dh is a proper lefty and he thinks they are appalling.

I'll ask again, what is my agenda?
