Ainu to think Angela Rayners has been set up to fail on her 1.5m homes target ?
you can barely get planning permission through for a small extension in under 10 weeks let alone 1.5 m new homes
Every month that goes by the shortage compounds
I wonder if Kier has set her up to fail

They know it won't be met. It's about setting a direction of travel.
Most of the major developments won't be actually be completed until a second term.
What I think she has potentially the risk of being thrown under the bus over is number if we social rent. And I feel sorry for her. She's doing best but the ideological war in the cabinet over public investment in placeshaping vs private enterprise is palpable.

Jossjt · 09/02/2025 12:22

Of course he has. She will be the fall guy. She’s a bit like Harris who was put in charge of the US border, when her handlers knew she had neither the intelligence, nor the political ability to get something like that done. Rayner is in same league.

Two Tier has his favourites. Rachel from accounts and Red Miliband. The former trashes the economy to give billions to the latter to piss up the wall. And the country just plunges deeper into oblivion.

Buckle up everyone. It’s gonna be a rough ride.

You sound quite stupid parroting lines from the Daily Express.

It was never going to happen. I work very closely with social housing providers, they are very keen to build more homes but they simply don’t have the funds to build that many. There has been no increase in grant funding, all their cash is going on remediation works to their existing stock - cladding, damp and ESG targets. They’ve also been absolutely floored by increases to NI and NMW. Most of them have reduced their development plans. There are also simply not enough construction workers.

Indeed...

Her name is Rayner. And she apologised for the remark. The title of the OP is a misogynistic insult. Not that the OP can manage to spell Starmer's name either.

Rayner apologised for the 'scum' remark and then used it again the following year!

She was told to apologise for the first offence by the Speaker's office - the second apology followed the murder of Sir David Amess, for which she was being blamed on social media - as her second use of 'scum' had been made only a few weeks before the attack. Prior to that she said she would only apologise if Boris Johnson apologised for unrelated remarks he had written as a columnist years previously. All very childish from Angela Rayner - I don't think she would have apologised the second time if Sir David had not been murdered.

Parsley1234 · 09/02/2025 12:41

She’s on her way out she’s deliberately been kept out of the public eye as she’s a train wreck. Rayner was put in the front bench to appease the unions she’s uneducated and chippy. Rachel from accounts Bridget from the block Two Tier Keir millipede they’re all dreadful human beings hell bent on ruining this country

The classism dripping from this post is remarkable.

What's up? Are you a bit sore that the cabinet is 98 per cent state educated? Yer old tie not offering the influence it once did?

marshmallowmix · 09/02/2025 21:23

Labour have been absolutely abysmal so far …they have ensured they will never be in government again…they held crisis talks on Friday as polls are bad and economic outlook is dire….

It will be Reform in govt next…at least in coalition if not outright.

Don’t think there has ever been a more unpopular PM in such a short time TTK hasn’t helped with his attitude. Doubt he will make a full term … Rayner there due to unions but that will crumble soon it’s an utter disaster none are business people …

HPFA · 09/02/2025 21:24

bemoresloth · 09/02/2025 20:15

It's becoming quite pro Reform. Not a good development in my eyes but you might disagree

The aim is to make us all exhausted.

The endless spewing out of anger often not related to any real cause. The conviction that everyone's out to get you. That no politician could ever try and do something good.

The poster earlier who thought Rayner was trying to build houses just to spoil the views of middle class people ! Like it's impossible anyone would try and build houses so young people can have secure homes and an adult life. The ones paying the pensions bill. Raising children.

I only hope people look at America in a few years time and realise where all this goes.

And how many went to the uber elite Oxford doing PPE?
When we say state we don't mean, with a few exceptions, your local inner city sink comp now do we? I mean Starmer was grammar which turned private, Phillipson was a Catholic high performing state school, Milliband was the private Bradford Grammar etc.

Heronwatcher · 09/02/2025 21:27

Fuck me if I have to see one more “Angela from housing” or “Rachel from accounts” I am going to fucking explode.

John Major (incidentally who I respect) left school with 3 O levels and failed to get a job as a bus driver.
David Cameron was a career arselicker politician.
Boris Johnson writes racist twaddle for the daily Mail and other rags.

They didn’t suffer this bollocks.

By all means criticise policy but are people really so fucking backwards they can’t do it without such overt blatant sexism.

nearlylovemyusername · 09/02/2025 21:30

Another scary thing about Labour is that they don't listen.
I'm not fun of Tory, but there were few episodes when their policies raise outrage and they backed out, for good.
Labour either really don't understand the aftermath of what they are doing or understand but still don't own their mistakes and continue pushing like tantruming toddlers. Neither is a good sign.

marshmallowmix · 09/02/2025 21:32

What about Jenny from the Block …now that’s a top tune

Clavinova · 09/02/2025 21:33

LostittoBostik
the cabinet is 98 per cent state educated?

Anneliese Dodds, Keir Starmer and John Healey attended private secondary schools and/or private sixth forms, Hilary Benn and Lisa Nandy attended private prep schools and David Lammy's state boarding school fees were funded by an ILEA scholarship.

Louise Haigh also attended a private secondary school.

Do we also predict that there have been crisis talks and panic in the government over the high number of TikTok followers Farage now has?

Do you think by 2029 that Reform members/subscribers will finally have some members rights? They didn’t vote Farage in and they can’t vote him out - he’s the owner of the business. How does a limited company with an unelected leader govern in a democracy? Will they have any detailed, funded policies by then? How can they be a honestly be a party representing the working class whilst voting against the Employment Rights Bill and planning to privatise/opt for an insurance-based NHS? So many questions, and yet so few answers and so little verified information.

Parsley1234 · 09/02/2025 21:37

@LostittoBostik I don’t care when anyone is educated but when you hear the chippiness coming off the front bench it’s pretty obvious that they do. Phillipson and Reeves both felt less than at Oxford hence where this bile comes from Rayner was pregnant left school at 15 is now a grandmother at 41 is this really a good look for the front bench. Lammy thinking a man can grow a cervix Starmer gas lighting all the rioters it’s a bloody mess

Don't forget Phillipson, her inferiority complex whilst at Oxford has poisoned her against any form of good education and is determined to drag the whole system down.

JimHalpertsWife · 09/02/2025 17:03

Two Tier Keir isn't predicated on his sex though.

Angela from Housing, Rachel from Accounts is. It's a form of "nickname" which is specifically used because these positions are currently held by women.

It's why we've never has Rishi from Accounts or Brown from Housing or whatever

Rachel from Accounts has surely been taken from the popular Australian TV series 'Colin from Accounts' - I watched a few episodes myself last year (although Colin's character is actually an injured dog).

Sunak's stint as Chancellor pre-dates the series so there wouldn't be 'Rishi from Accounts'.

Your use of ‘chippiness’ contradicts your argument quite a bit.

When and how did Starmer gaslight the rioters? Is it about the ones who pleaded guilty to incitement? Or is it his fault for following CPS guidance to ensure a fair trial that made people start stealing fake crocs from Primark and looting Greggs?

All very fair points but it does not matter at all.
Labour policies did not stuck in June 2024, their numbers didn't match, it was so glaringly obvious, but the sentiment was GTTO no matter what and even people who knew they would be harmed by Labour still voted for them. I personally know a lot of such cases. They regret it deeply now.

By 2029 the same sentiment will be Get The Labour Out, so Reform's policies won't matter, it won't be rational again, purely hate for Labour for betrayal and inflicting pain. Because it will get much worse than it was last year.
Then with Musk supporting Reform and all SM election technology I won't be too surprised if Reform will be the main party then, don't think it's going to be majority, by main is not impossible.

Parsley1234 · 09/02/2025 21:45

@Sherbs12 why would you think it contradicts my argument it may well do
Starmer knew AR was a terrorist and he denied denied denied it he lied what a surprise
@twistyizzy yes deep inferiority complex so transparent

Love your summary 😂
It's spot on

Folks, you’re aware you’re being manipulated right?? “Angela from Housing”??

Have a think what actively participating and posting here is doing to our democracy. Yes, we all have different views. Yes, there’s lots of discontent at the moment.

But don’t let yourselves be pulled in the direction of the prevailing hot air, just because. Look for facts and evidenced stuff,as opposed to clickbait dressed up as informed debate, or cheap TikTok crapola.

Agreed. Is there even any point reading policies and manifestos anymore?
Where was cutting WFA, Farmers IHT, Employers NI in the labour manifesto?

I'm being manipulated? I don't have TikTok, X or Facebook accounts and don't read any news outlets apart from FT, BBC and Sky. And Guardian occasionally when it goes to my newsfeed. If you check my posting history I've been absolutely consistent in my views.
And you know what - it is democracy for you. To be able to express views which aren't necessarily aligned with ruling party or even majority. And my views are absolutely based on facts and evidences. And some very basic understanding of economics and finances.

Parsley1234 · 09/02/2025 22:09

@bemoresloth i think the opposite
@TheNuthatch exactky where were they ? Nowhere the only policy they rode into no 10
on was the 20% vat increase on public schools that’s it all the others were no where to be seen.
