Every day waking up to yet another insane declaration from Trump. America is losing the respect of the world

It's like a parallel universe - how did America come to this? So now he plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza we are told - to create the 'Riviera of the Middle East.' A golf course and hotels probably. The £2 million people can just go wherever. Wtf! AIBU to think America is imploding in on itself?

Well there is an asteroid that has a 1 in 67 chance of hitting the earth in 2031, so maybe that will take our minds off this.

So since Trump was inaugurated he has at break neck speed
Sent troops to the border.
Stopped catch and release
Sent a clear message to illegal aliens and illegal criminals
Declared war on the drug gangs.
Negotiated an agreement with Mexico to at least attempt to stop the drugs crossing into usa.
Called out Trudeau for his lax attitude to illegal drugs and got a result in that canada will reinforce the border.
Set into law the Laken Reilly act.
Has started cost cutting in all govt depts. And calling outridiculous wastage of tax payers money . Sorry when have we heard those words here.
Wants people back to the office to increase productivity. ( I'm all for that )
The politicians are always at the trough . What have the dems really being doing with USAID
Seems a bit of money laundering going on
This is totally refreshing as a voter.
As for Gaza,
I mean why should trillions of dollars be thrown at gaza for it to obliterated again and again.i think we need to wait and see what happens. If the usa were in Gaza that's it hopefully peace. In actual fact I am enjoying a non career politician working the govt as a business and having respect for the American tax payers.he is America first and has never started any war in his last 4 years. He certainly does not want US deaths so let's wait and see.
If the same thing is done to " help" gaza again sure it will be back to square one in no time
What was instigated before does NOT work. Its a total-hi% hole .needs to be leveled is right Hamas are evil personified plus they
depend on the world defending gaza and you know what if clearing it stops senseless violence so be it

Anyone follow Riley Gaines??
She is delighted he has brought into law no men in women's sports. To me common sense is prevailing and DEI which was completely ridiculous is being replaced ny people getting jobs on merit. He is calling a halt on trans ideology

See crime rates down in NYC. Funny how goos America with real leadership and not a puppet is coming across.
He is refreshing . I must admit Gaza floored me but I hate Hamas so hey let's pull the rug from under their terrorist arses and see what happens.

Since trump has been inaugurated he has

Deflected attention away from the first moves to allow him to have a 3rd term...and.probably beyond

Trampled all over the hallowed constitution ...but thats ok cos he is a republican

Put up prices on most groceries
Put up prices on fuel
Alienated America from Mexico and Canana and likely the EU and any other democratic government.
Removed the FBI CIA thereby making the USA considerably more weak to foreign interference and opportunistic attack.

Has plans to attack all Jan 6th investigators.

Has removed security for Fauci , Bolton , Milley and others because they didn't bend the knee to his illegality and incompetence.

Released Jan 6th murderers and insurrectionists.

Allowed Musk to infiltrate the data of everyday Americans which by an unelected person with no security clearance and the assistance of four 19 to 24 year old is bizarre and dangerous to say the least.

Negotiated the same deal with Canada that was in place from December
Negotiated a lesser deal with Mexico that was already in place
Got Panama to agree to allow US ships to be able to use the Panama Canal...that are too big to use the PC. All 3 are embarrassing because it highlighted how little he knew.

The Drugs that enter the US from Canada are 0.2 % of the overall drugs coming into the country..so Trumps reasoning that this is about illegal drugs is absolute bs.

All the cost cutting is freeing up monies for Elon Musks Mars projects and to fund the contracts he wants ...effectively money that could go to Americans will be filtered off to the destitute Musk.

Trump has removed social security, Medicaid and permitted higher prices for medications so if you were struggling before you will be now be worse off.

Trump removed the FAA chief in the weeks preceding the air crashes, then went on to insulting the families of those who died by deflecting the narrative anyway from their loss to a debate about DEI...especially egregious when all pilots were not DEI.

Trump lied about money being used to send condoms to Gaza and being used to make bombs! The number also went from 50 k to 100k condoms.

Removed Mexican immigrants who were working on American farms while awaiting their paperwork and relocated them back to Mexico.Immigrants pour billions of dollars into the American economy with no reciprocal benefit...trump would have you think it was all a drain...far from it. ...and so now farmers have no-one to pick their crops and so the crops are rotting because none of the 'white workers' want to work in the extreme heat and definitely wouldn't do it for the same.price as the Mexican immigrants ...so prices on groceries are on the up.

He has stopped finance for child cancer research and other research projects which would obviously benefit American citizens.

He has filled his pockets.with his and melanias meme coins and continues to do so with his WLF which continues to invest on his.own behalf. (Let's not forget about Musk bankrolling him)

He promised to not allow America to become involved in needless conflict...he has in 2 weeks threatened Greenland Canada, Gaza, Mexico and Denmark and probably more but its late and I can't remember then all.

He has a history of multiple bankruptcies, not paying his workers, cheated on all his wives, was a good friend of Epstein, (Maralago is where Virginia Guiffre first met Ghislaine Maxwell. )

Have a read of Project 2025 it's a 900 (?) page document on how it will remove your workers rights with no unions. It will teach you how to be rascist, sexist and how it will remove your bodily rights as a woman. There are parts of Trumps new EOs that are written verbatim from this text.

If this doesn't scare you nothing will.

It sounds batshit crazy, not to mention incredibly insensitive towards a population that has suffered out of all proportion to the act it is being collectively punished for. It probably plays well to Trump’s evangelical Christian base, and to a section of the US Jewish electorate and financial backers.

So you acknowledge that the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza is out of all proportion, so I assume you've been out protesting against Hamas demanding 30-50 prisoners per released hostage? As obviously that's not proportional. And I assume you also protested Sinwar's release back in the day as he was one of 1027 prisoners and terrorists to be released in exchange for one Israeli?

Or is proportion only important sometimes?

But more importantly, please edit your comment to be less anti-Semitic.

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/02/2025 21:40

@Gymnopedie altering term limits is what his buddy Putin did so he will be well aware.

I bet a lot of money Musk and Trump have already discussed changing the constitution so that foreign-born Americans can be elected. Musk has a lot of power.

Don't buy a Tesla people!

Israel had always been open about it's end game, no Palestinians at all in Israel. Certainly that's been the stated aim of the right wing government forever, it's not like they have hidden the fact and the state sanctioned murder of West Bank citizens is happening every day now.

Just for accuracy, in fact 250,000 Palestinians live peacefully inside Israel itself with education/medical access etc. Meanwhile NO Jews (hostages aside) live in Gaza as they would be immediately killed, as has been the case many times in the past. It is quite clear whose end game wants the eradication of whom, hence their war cry "river to the sea" which we even hear in the UK advocating the genocide of all Jews in Israel!

It's called brinkmanship!

This is the problem with things like nuclear weapons. All well and good saying it's a great deterrent but you don't want brinkmanship from someone with a personality disorder and no empathy, that always has to be the biggest alpha in the room.

A lot of high profile jobs you need to pass a psych evaluation, how can you run for presidency without one>

Humdingerydoo · 05/02/2025 21:44

TankFlyBossW4lk · 05/02/2025 21:10

I think this is true and I think Trump has every intention of essentially committing genocide in Gaza. I think this will destabilize the middle East and potentially herald a war. I think Netanyhu is emboldened by the Trump administration and will prepare for war with the US at its side.

Trump and Elon will continue to meddle in UK politics and Elon will use his immense power in social media and never ending billions to engineer Farage as our new PM. The rational papers are already reporting how Farage thinks the Gaza idea is good. As if he wasn't a raving racist idiot 🙄and ignoring the fact that most people who's IQ is higher than their shoe size don't care what he thinks.

I utterly despair. There is actually no country to run towards. We're doomed.

No, that post is not true. That's just someone posting nonsense they've learned from TikTok. There are Palestinians in Israel. They are a part of the Arab population of Israel who make up more than 20% of the population of the country.

And removing Palestinians from Gaza would be ethnic cleansing, not genocide. If you're going to go around making false accusations, at least make the false accusations plausible.

LastTrainsEast · 05/02/2025 21:45

I keep seeing "it's a distraction"

If you don't know it's a popular theme on the fringes of social media where the flat earthers and chem-trailers hang out. For example. Brexit was to distract us so we wouldn't notice 'they' were putting chips in vaccines.

Covid was a distraction so we wouldn't notice 'they' were planning a world war.

My favourite was that something or other (several candidates) 'was a distraction so we wouldn't notice when Jesus came again"

That would have to be something pretty big to work, right?

headstone · 05/02/2025 21:45

Humdingerydoo if we were to look at proportions, how many hostages are there and how many Palestinians have Isreal taken prisoner? many without trial or convicted in secret trials. Hamas released the child hostages early on yet there are many Palestinian children kept without trial in Israeli jails.

Yes, people seem unaware that there used to be quite a significant Jewish population in Gaza until they were ethically cleansed from there.

Plus, if anyone watched the most recent hostage release, you will see quite clearly that Hamas had a map at the front of their stage. It was a map of Palestine as they see it ie "from the river to the sea". All the land was Palestine, Israel was not on the map. They're not exactly hiding what their end goal is

How many of those prisoners are mass murderers and terrorists?

Anyway, you seem unaware of the existence of the Bibas children. You know, the 9 month old and his 4 year old brother? That they thought fit to take hostage and then also sell on to other terrorists?

Please don't try and defend or talk up Hamas. They are terrorists - it's not a great look defending terrorists.

I am really tired of hearing that Trump is a woman’s advocate.

Exhibit A: What he said about Princess Diana, https://people.com/politics/donald-trump-sex-princess-diana-hiv-test-howard-stern-interview/

Exhibit B: Donald Trump has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment, including non-consensual kissing or groping, by at least 25 women since the 1970s. In June 2019, writer E. Jean Carroll alleged in New York magazine that Trump raped her in a department store dressing room in 1995 or 1996. From Wikipedia

On his wife, from the NY Times 2015 article. Yes, full of respect for women

Lying prone on a rug adorned with the Great Seal of the United States, the woman who might someday be first lady is wearing high-heeled sandals and a crimson bikini.
The date is February 2000. Donald J. Trump hasn’t yet thrown his hat into the ring as a Reform Party candidate, yet he’s already set in motion a machine that 15 years on will turn a voluble political maverick into the front-runner for the Republican Party presidential nomination.
The woman on the rug is Melania Knauss, a Slovene model, who at 29 is almost a quarter-century younger than her billionaire future husband. The rug is a prop in an Oval Office set mocked up in a Manhattan photo studio. Spread across two pages of the now defunct Talk magazine, Mr. Trump is seen in an inset close up; telescope back from the picture and what you’d see is Mr. Trump seated behind the presidential desk and at his feet his future wife, a woman striking in her beauty and docility.
If it is always the case in politics that you “play a role,” as Ms. Knauss observed in a caption accompanying those photos, you do this because politics is, above all else, “a business.”

The shift world wide is towards extremist politics, both left and right. The left have been shoving batshit crap at us for years - eg can’t criticise child rape gangs without being racist, risk of losing your job by stating biological facts, can’t say anything about millions rocking up illegally destroying your country.

In the UK all this happened under 14 years of the Conservatives being in power ? Are they left wing now ?

That whole 'most powerful man on the planet' thing is just a line in newspapers to make you panic.

And the same way that life still goes on no matter the politics, that's true for the vast (and it is vast) majority of Americans.

I STILL can't believe how much MN worries about the Americans. I guess, like Razorlight, they can't sleep.

If Brits put half or even a quarter as much effort into their own country as they do worrying about the US, things in the UK could be very different.

After the crazy Brits voted for Brexit, it was a nightmare. Every morning I woke up to a new announcement of doom. Maybe the Brits on this site remember those intense days.

I guarantee that, compared to the average Brit, the average American has no idea what is happening in the UK and doesn't care! If I go to a meeting, there's guaranteed to be a pot-shot at the Americans but I'm sure that if I moved to the US, there'd be no mention of UK politics.

So, stop wasting your time thinking about the US. Take steps to improve your life. As Arthur Ashe said, 'Start where you are and use what you have.' [oh, whoops, he's an American ...]

Alternatively, you could stop policing other people's speech. Just a thought.

The amount of media time given to his incoherent ramblings is insane. How did America come to this?

I agree. Last night I was listening to a podcast where they were analysing his announcements and trying to decide what his plan is. He hasn’t got a plan, he’s just spouting incoherent crap and lapping up all the attention. It’s not like US voters were not warned, did none of them ever watch one of his ‘speeches’ last time or during the election campaign? How are so many people so fucking gullible?
