Every day waking up to yet another insane declaration from Trump. America is losing the respect of the world

It's like a parallel universe - how did America come to this? So now he plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza we are told - to create the 'Riviera of the Middle East.' A golf course and hotels probably. The £2 million people can just go wherever. Wtf! AIBU to think America is imploding in on itself?

I’m waiting for him to suggest that the population of England should be relocated to the Australian outback so that he can turn It into a giant golf course.

That’s ok then. We citizens of the rest of the UK can stay put.

You sound like the type of person who gets all their knowledge of history from memes on social media.

Not at all. I look at numerous sources. News websites, Al Jazeera, Wikipedia. The state of Israel was recognised in 1948. Since then it has pushed most non Jews out of fertile farmland, out of cities, out of industrial areas. It has condensed Palestinians into a small area and has bombed the crap out of it as well as denying water, food and aid.

ARealitycheck · 05/02/2025 23:26

You mean Palestine.

No.

Have you really never heard of the land of Israel? The kingdom of Israel?

It's perfectly possible to want a Palestinian state without demanding the eradication of the state of Israel, you know.

In that case, you must feel quite incensed at the history and persecution of Jewish people in Yemen also?

Have you noticed 17% here voted 'You're being unreasonable' so I guess that means 17% think he's OK. Actully I know people here think he's great.

They maybe haven't read project 2025 which means their contraceptives might be considered murder and they would be at the beck and call of their husbands....maybe it was their men that voted! 😁

The kingdom of Israel, could you point out on a map where that was located in 1945?

Maybe find the poster a Wikipedia link? Because apparently Wikipedia is a reliable source.

Israel had always been open about it's end game, no Palestinians at all in Israel. Certainly that's been the stated aim of the right wing government forever, it's not like they have hidden the fact and the state sanctioned murder of West Bank citizens is happening every day now.

I don't really agree with that.

However, practically, it might come to the same thing. It's not going to be a livable place, and I don't think they will ever get along.

Oh totally, their treatment in Yemen I'm sure was appaling. Doesn't mean they have the right to move en masse to another Country and treat the indigenous people of there in the same way they had been treated in Yemen.

Oh so is 1945 when history started? You seem to change your mind about exactly what year history started, it's quite confusing!

But out of interest, where was the state of Palestine in 1945?

Stop calling for the eradication of the state of Israel. You don't have to get rid of Israel for there to one day finally be a Palestinian state.

Hypocrisy

Do you mean the hypocrisy of a group of people having been persecuted in Yemen, moving to a place 2,000 ish miles away and then displace those living there? Then bombing and refusing them aid? That kind of hyporcisy?

No...I mean the hypocrisy of those who continually bash Israel.

As an example, the last Jewish person in Yemen died fairly recently....now imagine if there was one Muslim person left in Israel....there would be marches at the very least on the streets of London.

Turkeyneck101 · 05/02/2025 23:49

KnittyNell · 05/02/2025 22:57

I totally agree.
You are definitely speaking for me.

There's nothing quite like a superpower coming into your country , ripping you out of it, displacing you to another nation with absolutely no right whatsoever. That'll go down well. A nd America would be all for that if the shoe were on the other foot.

Is it me or is trumps promise to not meddle in foreign wars not really playing out the way he said?

Devianinc · 05/02/2025 23:50

Not for nothing but hamas started this war. Just hoping for peace for those poor people. It would be great thing for the world if they found it.

Where do you think the Yemeni Jews originally came from? And where do you think Judaism comes from? Where do you think the Jewish temples were?

There is enough land for two states. Start working towards that instead of towards eradicating the state of Israel.

Does anyone know why Trump says the population of Gaza is now 1.7/8 million - down from 2.2 million before Oct 7th? Is he very bad at numbers? Seems concerning he can't get the population figures right and unusual for a business person.

I think that's the number of people thought to be at risk of starvation rather than the population of Gaza.

^I've decided to stop living a sensible life and saving for the future and to blow it all in Ibiza celebrating the third summer of love ❤️
I suspect their will be plenty of middle age folk joining me from the states, which now also includes Canada 😂^

It's not fucking funny when locals are priced out of their own homes.

The bane of world-wide tourism. I'm one myself and live in an overcrowded tourist hot-spot. Already plenty of yanks moved here during Trump's first term. (Don't blame them).

This will sound patronising probably but forgive me.

Take vit for granted that pretty much everything he says is a lie or at best .....Well there isn't a best...its just a lie.

He is not a businessman, he is a conman. Bankrupt about 6 or 7 times, Didn't pay his workers, ran a casino into debt, ran a university into the ground, ie conned people out of money for education they never got, trump airlines flunked, etcetera etcetera etcetera

Oh and he is a narcissistic abuser.

wordsworthundercover · 06/02/2025 00:13

@Turkeyneck101 The way he speaks it does seem like he made some notes on a napkin and just throws it out there, with a bit of bluster and arrogance. What a peculiar person he is. I don't understand his popularity, given he's so clearly not serious as a person. I suppose he is able to manipulate people's insecurities.
@Humdingerydoo Yes, it could be he meant that, though I am more inclined to think he's just making it up as he goes along!
