It's like a parallel universe - how did America come to this? So now he plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza we are told - to create the 'Riviera of the Middle East.' A golf course and hotels probably. The £2 million people can just go wherever. Wtf! AIBU to think America is imploding in on itself?

The thing that astounds me is the sheer number of intelligent people pretending the Emperor has new clothes to appease a batshit megalomaniac. Trudeau ‘agreed’ a 1.3 billion deal to avoid tariffs, and splashed it all over the media to make it look like Trump had achieved something when it was the same deal he negotiated with the Biden administration in December. Trudeau knew it, the Trump administration knew it, the media knew it, but somehow everyone is pretending Trump actually did something. Same thing with the Californian water farce. Everyone apart from maybe MAGA supporters is fully aware that there is no canal from North California to LA, and all Trump did by diverting water was flood some desert farmland and waste the summer water reserves. People know this, but a large number of intelligent people are just pretending Trump’s insane statements are right. It’s so embarrassing.

I grew up in the 80s and no one I knew respected Americans back then - they were seen as loud, rude and arrogant.
There was an American air base near my village and there was an American housing estate where their families lived, they were very unpopular.
