Why are you awake?

I fell asleep on the sofa. I've got myself to bed and found myself wide awake.

I'm worrying about work and working from home tomorrow (we have a hybrid approach at work which works OK when staffing levels in the office are managed by mamagement).

Stress levels are making me want to wee all the time and I dribbled a bit when I got up off the sofa earlier. The quick ahower has woken me up good and proper. Now I have a slight stomach pain and feel bloated.

Hmppph.

@IncaDove not till April 2nd but it's been a complicated pregnancy in terms of me not the baby thankfully 😅

Monstermashermashedthemonster · 05/02/2025 07:55

I woke in a panic at 4.30 looking for my son who was fast asleep in his bed.
I must have had a dream but I don't remeber.
Right now I want to go back to bed but it's time for school run

Im so sorry. I can’t imagine what you are going through. Do you have support from family or friends?

Thank you Inca. Yes lots of support but it’s so scary at the same time. She has a traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures. Shes sedated and on a ventilator but in the best place receiving the very best of care! She’s got a long journey ahead of her.

Little ferns, I am so sorry you are going through this. What a frightening and tremendously difficult time for all of you. I hope she gets stronger and better every day 🙏🏻

Thank you Devon. It’s going to be a very long journey for her. It really is the most frightening thing I’ve ever had to experience. But Shes still with us. Her bf died in the same accident so it’s a blessing for us.

I really appreciate all the positive thoughts and messages. Thank you!! 🙏

Husband iof 27 years I caught him cheating last week. I submitted my divorce and just found out he's replied to the online form agreeing to it. No hesitation it seems from his part.
I doubt I'll sleep tonight despite the exhaustion and trying to smile for the sake of my children

Glitchymn1 · 05/02/2025 20:37

Came back to read other posters messages, some heart wrenching posts, seems most of us are having a bad time of it. .

Littleferns I’m so sorry, how scary you must beside yourself with worry, I hope your daughter will be better soon.
Devon24 They are such a big part of our lives aren’t they, I’m so sorry.

One day you will look back at this time and be so proud of yourself and the fact that you had the courage to walk away from a man who clearly isn’t good enough for you.

My 2 year old has decided he don't want to sleep and is singing in the dark.

CeceliaImrie · 06/02/2025 01:06

I'm just really fucking low, been napping between 10am-noon this past week or so which makes me feel worse and lethargic which means getting nothing done levels of diddly shit productivity which reinforces the gloom. Plus I've got a 2 week headache that won't shift.

I’m sorry to hear that. Have you thought about seeing your GP?

FoxtonFoxton · 06/02/2025 01:24

I've had a really stressful, shitty week so far and have SO much to do that I just can't switch off. Own business, autistic teen, house renovations, taking other teen to and from work shifts (no buses go from the village) and to top it off we've got a bloody rat in the roof that seems to be some kind of megamind who avoids all traps. I feel like I need a six month holiday.

It is so annoying, they have this magical power that sends them off to sleep 😳

dutysuite · 06/02/2025 01:25

Feeling trapped and frustrated which in turn makes me feel depressed. I never admit to being depressed in real life, I just keep it all in which makes me feel exhausted during the day, but I struggle to sleep at night.

My sleep patterns have been off since my husband died 4 yrs ago. Even prior to that, it was off - he used to have to get up during the night and latterly he needed my help.

Did try sleeping tablets for a while, but I was aware (and wary) of becoming too reliant on them.

That's a rock and a hard place if ever there was one, hope you get slept soon.

Convolvulus · 06/02/2025 01:52

I seem to have developed a bit of a problem with catching my breath properly when I'm lying down. As soon as I become aware of it, I go into a vicious circle of trying and failing to catch my breath, worry about it, trying again and so on. It's not that I think it's anything dramatic - I suspect it's a combination of being overweight, possible sleep apnoea, and the early stages of a cold - but it's engouh to keep waking me up. Not really sure what I can do about it.

I had a full hysterectomy 10 years ago. The menopause is unbelievable isn't it? BANG - straight in!

Have the docs prescribed HRT for you?

I spoke with my consultant this morning and he has referred me to a menopause specialist. Hopefully something will work for me.
