To think bums should be covered in a public pool?

I may be being unreasonable and I’m just old and out of touch… took my kids swimming today at our local public pool and there was a lady wearing one of those swimming costumes that is basically a thong at the back? I saw lots of them in the beach during the summer which I kind of understand as it helps you get a very high cut tan/eliminates tan lines but I felt a bit weird seeing one in an indoor pool? Not sure where boundaries lie…? Happy to be told IABU but wondered what others think?

I don't really have an issue with the type of swimwear another person wears. I wouldn't wear them myself but it's up to others what they wear.

As for the hygiene thing, I don't see how a thong pant is less hygienic than other swimwear, if you've got shit crumbs on your arsehole they'll end up in the water regardless.

I think men are designed to consider how attractive women are in the same way as women consider what they find physically attractive in men. Its natural.

Again regarding thong bikinis there is another thought that crossed my mind that hasn't been mentioned. I often see families on holiday where there are fully developed young girls & older parading about in a thong bikini in front of their father. I could never present my adult bare bum to my father. I'd be mortified but thankfully this wasn't a trend in my day. Bikinis were definitely small but thankfully bare bums weren't on show.

I also don’t sit on loos - ours at home, where I probably don’t swish the dettol as often as I could - at work, out in public, etc., with my arm. Whereas I do with my bum. Come on - we all know the bum isn’t particularly clean and whereas it’s all going in the pool anyway (and that’s what the chlorine is for), let’s not pretend bum skin doesn’t have a lot more bacterial culture on it than other parts of the body. And yes a thong is getting in there churning it all up right at the anus where there’s plenty of poo crumbs etc. so it can all work its way out into the pool 🤣 Plenty of people also have poor faecal hygiene, skin infections in the arse crack and so on. When are they seeing my arse to do all this laughing and making faces? The walk from the changing room to the pool at my swimming pool is approximately 7 steps! I walk out, get in the pool and swim. I'm not doing laps walking around the pool before I get in to make sure everyone present has gotten a good view! More fool them if they are spending more time looking at and judging people rather than swimming after paying to attend the pool. Fuck em!

You presume I wear thong bikinis? No, I don't, but I have zero issue with people who do. When I'm at the pool, I'm supervising my DC, swimming, and minding my own business. Unlike you, who is apparently occupied with staring at the arses of strangers.

If doesn't bother me about the body germs, I just don't want to see it. It's too much body. And one day bikinis were too much as well.
