Posting for traffic.

I'm on 3, DF is on Giff Gaff. Down detector says both networks are reporting issues in the last half hour or so.

Anyone else?

I can't call my Dad - it either doesn't connect or kucks me straight off - he can call me but it's not coming through until he leaves a voicemail - not ringing my end but I get voicemail notification.

Texts are sketchy.

Ah bugger, that's really frustrating. Commiserations.

I can't believe it's still going on and not a really major news story. And how rubbish Three are being about updates. Surely by now they have some idea of what's going on. I mean, has someone faceplanted on the "mute all calls" key? Kicked out a vital plug? Squirrels in the server room? Or, my current favourite and no less ridiculous- cyber attack? Or a dodgy software issue? I just want some answers!!

This is the latest update from smarty on their facebook page

Last update today “23/01/25 23:00: Our teams are still working to fix the ongoing issue affecting a small percentage of voice services. Data services are unaffected.

We'll next update tomorrow, thanks again for your patience, we're really sorry for any inconvenience this may continue to cause.”

The previous update mentioned some customers having trouble connecting to emergency services (hopefully that has been urgently sorted) . I'm guessing I wont be able to call anyone tomorrow or receive any calls.
It was frustrating receiving messages saying I'd missed calls (and I had no idea).

Oh I do hope this doesn't drag on. I need to make and receive some urgent calls about my MIL and her care going forward as she's end of life dementia. Maddening!!

Thank you for the updates - not on other social media so would have no idea on what was going on otherwise! Makes you realise landlines may have gone a little too soon...

I'm really annoyed I haven't got a landline right now. Glad the thread has been helpful 🙂 hopefully it will all get resolved overnight. I feel a little less isolated being able to post here.

I had no service on Smarty all afternoon, but it reconnected about 10pm, and is OK now. My partner's (also Smarty) came back at the same time.

I've just had a look at the latest update on smarty facebook page- Im hoping my phone works as need to make a few calls.
For anyone not on Facebook the smarty update:

"24/01/25 08:10: Good morning, please see below an update on yesterday's network issue:

Following an issue affecting voice calls yesterday, services have almost returned to normal overnight.

Our monitoring has picked up an issue with calls connected via Wi-Fi which we are investigating urgently. Today, we also expect to see an additional impact on our service due to Storm Éowyn in some areas. We have already deployed extra engineering resources and planning for these areas, so we can bring sites that are impacted back online as soon as it is safe to do so.

A normal volume of 999 calls were connected yesterday and our monitoring confirms the service is working fully this morning. We continue to investigate the small number of reports that we received about 999 call failures.
Our customer care team continues to experience high volumes, so there may be a delay in our response.

Our customer care team continues to experience high volumes. Please bear with them, they’re doing their very best to help everyone as quickly as possible.

We apologise sincerely for the inconvenience caused by the issues on our voice network yesterday."

Mine is fine but I did have to restart my phone this morning before it all reset. Have you tried the old "switch off, switch on"?
