To feel everyone is anti trans?

I'm well aware of current US views led by Trump - but are these views generally held/supported in the UK? Of course I understand opinions on NHS gender reassignment funding, as well as controversies over trans women in sport. Needless to say I'm fully aware of concerns over women's safety issues. Are there any sympathisers or supporters out there? What about trans masculine folk who are surely no threat to women's safety or sport? None of these people would choose such a hard life, socially, financially, physically, mentally, emotionally... am I alone in thinking a bit of kindness and compassion towards the trans community might be appreciated for the massive personal struggles they have to face? I am open minded to hearing and understanding your views.

So you don’t think men with the sexual fetish autogynaephilia are trans?

I don’t think all transwomen are men with the sexual fetish autogynephilia. Some probably are.

LostTheMarble · 22/01/2025 12:01

Tandora · 22/01/2025 11:55

To put it bluntly your opinion on me is as garbage as your opinions about trans people.

The posts are all there for all to read and evaluate.

Do you ever consider replying in a manner that adds value to the discourse, or is it always going to be the equivalent of a teenager slamming a door in your face mid argument? Years you’ve been piping into these threads and not once have you actually explained your position with anything other than ‘I ❤️ gender beliefs, everyone else is awful’. I’ve had more insightful discussions with religious fundamentalist who genuinely believe the world was created in 6 days.

And how do we spot those and keep them out of women's spaces?

HawkTUAHspitonthatthing · 22/01/2025 12:02

Lentilweaver · 22/01/2025 11:55

Most people wouldn't. Most people think transgenders should be treated with kindness and fairness.
Not wanting trans people in womens spaces doesnt mean you are a transphobe.

I would absolutely treat a trans person with kindness,
im not being called a bigot by a PP because iv admitted im not keen on it.

theres a difference between me giving hate and by giving an opinion, which is allowed.

KimberleyClark · 22/01/2025 12:00

that wasn't the question.
The question was do you consider men with AGP to be trans, not "are all trans women AGPs" which is an entirely different thing.

TBH i don't tend to kink shame (paedophilia, necrophilia and non-consensual BDSM are among the things i would shame a not being kinks but dangerous assaults) so in theory an AGP doesn't bother me right up to the point he tries to claim a female identity etc

Not “everybody” but I think the vast majority of people are. At least in countries such as the US and UK. Maybe less in Thailand.

And not just “opposed to men in women’s spaces” - most people appear to hate trans people for even existing.

I feel very sorry for trans people and so glad not to be one. I completely understand why their suicide rates are so high.

Sleepysleepycoffeecoffee · 22/01/2025 12:06

I don’t think people are anti-trans but just fed up with others trying to force changes on them such as using ‘them/they’, insisting on there being a million different genders and generally making a huge issue of the trans thing. I couldn’t care less what other people identify as but don’t need to hear people banging on about it all the time

Ok.

You lay out your stats then, where you are measuring the top performing economically successful countries in the world against the countries in the world that are doing best for women.

I will do similar, laying out the top performing countries for women, as measured by internationally respected studies, cited by governments and women's rights groups worldwide, and measuring against their policies of self ID.

You will find a might tighter, stronger correlation for my two variables than yours.

I have lived in Thailand and I am from India where transpeople are common, None of them enter women's spaces or sports. No Thai man would be in a woman;s prison.
What rubbish!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/01/2025 12:06

Tandora you really haven’t. The nonsense you spout which you can never answer nor back up gets debunked with scrutiny and valid counter argument. You then put this down to abuse. To put it bluntly your arse gets handed to you every time.

YY.

Again, any evidence? If you have read the thread properly you would’ve seen the amount of posters saying trans
people should be respected, call themselves whatever they like, wear whatever they like, they just don’t want to be compelled into an ideology they don’t believe in if they don’t want to, which is what’s happening here.

@JHound The 'high rates of suicide' myth has been debunked. Their suicide rate is no higher than any other group, in fact compared to most groups the rate is less.

I don't hate anyone. I just don't believe men are women. It all stems from that, like it or not. Most people don't share your ideology.

Yes, when I was in Thailand, which was admittedly a decade ago now, none of the ladyboys ( I hate that term but that's what they call themselves) thought they were actually women or entered women's spaces, which is probably why most people had no problem respecting them.

I don’t think all transwomen are men with the sexual fetish autogynephilia. Some probably are.

That is not what’s being asked! This lack of reading comprehension and wilfully disingenuous twisting of words is what makes discussing the issues with TRAs impossible.

Words (and the order in which those words are arranged) have meaning.

Tandora · 22/01/2025 12:05

We’ve all seen your previous replies, this is why myself and other posters are specifically replying to you about this. I know you honestly believe you’re replying in a back and forth manner about gender discussion but that’s isn’t what anyone else sees. You never actually answer questions, and after a few times of repeating them to you, you say ‘I’ve already answered that’ and carry on asserting that MN is horribly transphobic without any evidence. Yet you never actually leave the site or ignore these threads.

Would you like to expand on what you found hateful in that post?

OK, briefly, but it's not exactly obscure...
The adage of "I'm not .....but" is the classic call of the 'phobe isnt it ... .' I'm not racist but...'
'I'm not sexist, but ...' and 'I'm not anti trans but ..'

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/01/2025 12:10

I don't think all National Trust members are drunk drivers. Some probably are.

What is the relevance? It's men who are the issue, not just the ones who call themselves women.

You are not...getting....it.

Self-ID has NOTHING TO DO WITH how a country economically performs.

Its like comparing apples to shampoo.
