That picture of the Southport killer

That has been circulating today.

Remember that sweet boy that was in all the reports at the time? The one who looked about nine?

Can anyone think of any other serious criminal who has pictures of them as a child out in the press?

Nope because that will be part of the "cover up". As you can see from this thread.

We are a step away from the defining criteria of being a Muslim being having downloaded a freely available document off the internet.

@lemmein agree, it's so disturbing. So much hate & division & I see it here more too.

A parent, wanting public sympathy, a defence consul or a "community leader" is, given the choice of the Accused being portrayed as a sweet innocent schoolboy, or a swivel eyed loon is going to choose the former. Likewise it's always a potential future premier league player, or aspiring singer/rapper - never a wannabe south central LA gangbanger.

There's also that pesky fact of him being under 18 and not convicted and restrictions on reporting and rules about publishing pictures in the media.

It's frightening to think that you have the right to vote.

Don't worry I'm not stupid enough to waste my time voting.

Yes, and I think he will be kept locked up for a very long time, if not for the rest of his life.

Edited

Surely, death by lethal injection is the only safe sentence. What if he kills another inmate or prison officer? He isn't going to have much of a life, anyway. Locking him up for 50 or 60 years will cost the taxpayer millions. Just humanly euthanise him.

Not sure death row works either, the average time a death row inmate spends in prison before execution in the US is over 20 years.

Plus there is often the risk of miscarriage of justice.

We don’t have the death sentence for murder in this country so that’s not going to happen. If you want to start a campaign to bring back the death penalty then go ahead but all the polls I’ve seen previously suggest it’s not widely supported (including by me).

In case you hadn't noticed, the UK does not have capital punishment, so the "safe sentence" is merely fantasy on your part.

I don't support the death penalty, either. Perhaps once we have medically assisted dying, it could just be offered to people like him. What is the point in his life now?

Supersimkin7 · 20/01/2025 21:42

Axel’s not mentally ill.

He’s autistic (with a normal
IQ) which is permanent and doesn’t count as far as I know for diminished responsibility. You can be sane and autistic, goes without saying.

Suspect the differences in this case are academic - Axel’s not getting out. It’s a shame he’ll cost a fortune to keep but that’s civilisation.

I'm more concerned with who decided to have that trial today to hide it against the inauguration of Trump,
And what the Prime Minister and Home Secretary knew about this evil person, when they knew it and what they decided to tell the public.

FFS quit the conspiracy theories. They could not have possibly known anything about him before the crime was committed, and anything they knew afterwards could not have been said because it would prejudice any trial.

Mexicansky · 20/01/2025 21:44

Trikey · 20/01/2025 17:59

No I haven't posted about any trials and the inauguration previously. I just think it's odd that this trial was scheduled for today when the media attention has been elsewhere.

The trial was listed long before the inauguration was planned for today

That’s an interesting point. I think some lifers would go for it, but I think many will hold out for a successful appeal.

Plus even if the prisoners asks for euthanasia, I imagine the red tape would take years.

You're being very very silly.

Please list what would satisfy you as proof? Because with only screens I can't think of anything that couldn't be fabricated or faked and as such dismissed by you. So what kind of cast iron proof would you accept? Because I don't think there's any.

There is no proof. None whatsoever. If there was, you or others would show it. It's baseless lies concocted by racists and trolls. And spread by "useful idiots".

JRSKSSBH · 20/01/2025 20:53

Of course he’ll get a life sentence but with a minimum recommended term. But isn’t our glorious leader, as a human right supremo, opposed to whole life tariffs? He’ll be sentenced as a minor and out in less than ten years with a new identity, no doubt.

there is a difference beween life sentences with a recommended term and whole life orders and as I said, I hope he gets a whole life order which means he will spend the rest of his life in prison. It is up the judge who passes sentence and we will have to wait and see. I believe the hearing is this Thursday.

@PandoraSox

In addition to pleading guilty to the murders of the three girls he also pleaded guilty to producing a biological toxin, ricin, and the possession of an al-Qaeda training manual - a terror offence.

He was also referred to the government's counter-terrorism Prevent programme three times, between 2019 and 2021.

So he was definitely an extremist whether that was motivated by Islam or not we will never know because he pleaded guilty.

What does concern me is that the police have never treated this case as terror related (despite the Al Qaeda training manual and ricin) as they weren't sure of his motive!

Being an extremist means you are motivated by extreme political views, for example for a particular ideology or against a particular group.

There is no evidence that this person had such motivations. It seems that he was motivated by an obsession over violence and death. So he read Al-Qaeda manuals and got hold of ricin in order to kill. Now, we can argue over whether the lack of evidence of extremist motivations is a cover-up by the media/government/police etc., but you definitely can't categorically state he is an extremist based on his confessions.

Can we please be careful not to encourage cancellation of any real human disliking what the religion of Islam espouses. This doesn't equal racism.

I don't even understand any of what it takes to be Islamaphobic anymore.

I can't recall the posts the reported poster put on. I think it was incorrect information regarding religious identity of this guy. It's worth noticing the news report I cited from Sky news. You can see why one would come to this conclusion. Omission of important additional information is a problem here.
