I'm not watching, as I'm just not into all the pomp and ceremony etc, that side of things. But I'm insanely envious of the USA right now. A President who actually wants to put his own country and people first. When can we have one too?

This originally annoyed me too but as a parent I understand and also given the punitive nature of the Trump administration and how he's stacked the courts, it makes sense. Outgoing presidents pardon a ton of people, some deserving some not. I can see why he did it and I'd have done the same.

Wow that was a very long speech (typically of Trump) and it seemed off the cuff indeed plus I think he could have done another half hour easily. Unlike the few sentences Biden spoke the other night but obviously needed to via his autocue. I know Biden is struggling and that's sad for anyone losing control in that way. The whole event had to conclude before long as there'll be a rush for the restrooms when they're all allowed to leave.🙄

I wouldn't have missed it despite thinking Trump could be a very dangerous man from this day onwards. It's a day for the history books and the same goes for our Royal family ceremonies. I'm no fan of our royals, any of them, but feel the need to witness these events even if only on screen.

I love the pomp and ceremony of it all. Wish we had similar over here for incoming prime ministers. I’m an avid people watcher and love seeing the previous presidents too, and how they interact. I think, hope, that Trump will put in place all the stuff he promised in his campaign. He’s certainly patriotic, something celebrated in America, but a word despised here in the UK unfortunately.
