Bit of a boring one I guess. I'm gonna get the snacks in for me and dd as the coverage starts at 3.30/4pm (UK obs)

I love to watch stuff like this, makes me feel connected to the world 😅🙈

Plus I wanna see if anyone slips up and let's their face show their real thoughts

Plus I'll be making comparisons between barron and Gary barlow's giant son

The things that will make Britain great again involve investing in public services and not funnelling money into personal pockets through scams, so you want the opposite of Trump.

If someone like the union leader, bob something, wanted to head up a centre left campaign of 'make Britain great again' with strong references to Tony Blair economic policy, ie sure start, I think he could do it and be PM.

Starmer is our in 4 years time, he could be the hope for the left

Here’s hoping that Trump and Musk take out Starmer like a loose tooth.

Starmer is in trouble if Trump and Musk turns on him.

Musk has already expressed his opinion on Starmer.

I genuinely don't think we will ever see Biden in public again. We certainly won't be seeing him on the traditionally cushy (and highly lucrative) lecture tours and after after dinner speech circuit patronised by ex presidents. His dementia is too advanced.

I suspect this is why those closest to him were prepared to sacrifice him on the Altar of their Greed. Another four years in the White House would have kept the big bucks rolling him.

Biden isn't going to be able to earn a single penny now.

Did anyone see Trump trying to kiss Melania? Hilarious. She didn't want him to go near her. So awkward.

Melania Trump swerves Donald Trump's kiss in awkward inauguration moment

Her wide brimmed hat stopped him touching her face!

He doesn’t need to. Time for pipe, slippers and cosy fire now.

Why?

Starmer is weak. He may be a nice person but he is destablising our country. We are not safe with him at the helm. He doesn't know who he is or what he believes. I don't think Starmer or his peers are bright enough for the job.

3floofs · 20/01/2025 18:48

This is like the senile uncle in the corner now - the rambling is painful.

Best place for him!

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/01/2025 18:50

As awful as trump is, I wonder if another politician (other than obama) could hold court like trump can here without getting themselves cancelled/saying they didn't have sky tv growing up

I don’t think Starmer is a bad person , I think he’s out his depth. He doesn’t understand the electorate and misreads the room every time.

Labour are out their depth on almost everything, foreign policy and the economy.

I completely agree. But he should have been allowed to retire gracefully and with dignity when it was realised he had dementia. Not keep cracking the whip and exposing him on the world stage when he was clearly very confused and stressed.

HairOfFineStraw · 20/01/2025 18:51

Dual UK/American in UK. Didn't watch it. Can't stand the idea and hope his diet catches up with him before he breaks anything else. Although that would probably make him a martyr.

I can't see a path to moving back at this rate. The whole thing makes me very sad and has ruined relationships with many family members who willingly look past things.

A lot of people here see it like a spectacle but it's like seeing someone burn down your house for many of us.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/01/2025 18:51

So you want to overturn the results of a democratic election because you don’t like the result? How very MAGAt of you.

Thanks, but not so fast.

I hope that Starmer is blocked from doing any more damage, right up to the end of his tenure. Legitimately.

100% @Paul2023 the UK really needs a strong leader. I honestly don't know who that would be though.

What a big blow hard buffoon?

Yeah we had Boris. That worked out really well didn't it. Who do you suggest? Nigel or maybe Tommeh?

They don't realise that they could kick out every immigrant in the country and there would be 0 difference to their own life. Zero personal responsibility whatsoever.
