To be annoyed at the lack of bathrooms

Applecharm25 · 20/01/2025 13:39

I have my period. I can feel that i need to change my tampon.

I'm out walking round my city. There are no public bathrooms anywhere near me.

I see a sign for a bathroom in a small shopping centre near me. I walk in. The bathroom is actually in a shop. I'm told that the bathroom is only available for paying customers.

So now I have to get in a long queue and wait further and buy something while I really need to change my tampon.

Surely there should be better toilet services available.

You'd know
I'm assuming this thread is giving you some cheap thrill, throwing around all the MN tick boxes

Next you'll find a way to bring transpeople in just to make 100% sure you've hit all the notes

Ooh the big bully is keeping on going.

Hey you know what would shock people.

If you wrote something nice. .try it!

Every one of your posts has been nasty so far

Maybe switch it up and write something nice?

You honestly think you aren't being a nasty bully at this point? And a liar?

I don't think anyone could look at OP as reasonable at this point

Reported for bullying.

I will report every abusive bully on here.

I've read all 752 comments in this thread and I've honestly not seen bullying. The post from Mumsnet referred to troll hunting, but made no reference to bullying, which I think is telling. Most people disagree with the OP's views, a very large proportion of people have commented on the use of the word 'bathroom', and many people find their suggestion for a period room and other remarks bonkers, but that doesn't mean there is bullying or a pile on - just that they don't agree with the OP. For a thread like this which has provoked so many comments by people who disagree with the OP, I think there have been remarkably few deleted posts, which confirms to me that Mumsnet don't see bullying. There's only one poster on this thread who comes over as being unnecessarily rude and combative, and that's the OP.

Why are you still here if you hate this thread so much?

Why not just go.

Believe me I would love to speak with someone else.

I won't reply to any of your posts anymore

@DappledThings Thank you for your efforts! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I've asked for instances of my "bullying" and have been ignored.
Clearly the OP has lumped in all the people who actually say what they think, as bullies. I didn't actually realise that on public forums we all had to agree with the OP! Then when we don't, we're accused of being bullies! I think that should have been made clear in the original post.
If this were my thread, I'd be reading back through my own replies, realising people actually had a point and then deleting the thread with embarrassment! It's clear to anyone reading the whole thread, should they have the time and inclination to do so, who's actually at fault.
But hey ho, most of us are wrong apparently! Anyway, I've wasted enough time and energy on here, I really do have better things to do.

Of course you'll say that.

As you are one of the bullies.

I don't agree with anything you've said.

I stand up against the bullies on here. You won't knock me down.

The private messages that I received last night saying that the behaviour on here is absolutely disgusting, have given me a lot of strength

I don't want to delete it , and it's my thread.

How bizarre that you think that your opinion on this thread is worth more than my opinion!

I wasn't wrong.

I'll ask you aswell.

What do you get out of bullying.? This early in the morning

Does it make you feel good?

You have been proven to be wrong

The proof of the bullying is this:

The poster who wrote the worst posts.

All of her nasty posts have been removed by mumsnet now, for breaking talk guidelines.

We definitely need more public toilets. I would be more than happy to pay to use them. Im not sure about a dedicated tampon changing cubicle though. I think it would make more sense to have a toilet in it, so those that need to use it when they change a tampon (I definitely do) can. But those that don't need to use it, don't have to.

Saying that, I quite like the idea of a little space for for women to go to freshen up. It could be nicely decorated, have scented candles, a couple of toilets stocked with sanitary products, little soaps, hand cream etc. There could be an attendant/cleaner always present, a bit like the ones in nightclub toilets (the "Lollipop, Freshen Up Lady), and there is a selection of deodorants and perfumes to use. A couple of dressing tables with mirrors and suitable lighting.
Maybe even tea, coffee, and wine could be available.
I'm not exactly sure what would be in a tampon changing cubicle. Just a bin and a sink, with soap, and a hand dryer? In some ways this does have its merits. I loathe public toilets as they're often filthy, and I have to be breaking my neck desperate to use one. If my periods weren't so heavy, that taking a tampon out is like opening up the floodgates, I probably wouldn't mind a cubicle with no toilet, just for this purpose.

Yeah we definitely need more public toilets.

Thata nice, that you quite like the idea of a little space for women to freshen up.

Ooh tea and coffee. Now that would be the dream!

And you're totally wrong.

As several other posters have pointed out now, there has been a very nasty bullying pile -on of me.

People on this thread have said that they are shocked at how I have been treated. Over a thread that is very nice.

Strange how mumsnet agree with me isn't it.

Bullies always blame the victim. And don't look at themselves

Which proves you are a liar

Growlybear83 · 21/01/2025 10:23

@Applecharm25 I think I've only posted twice, or possibly three times, previously on this thread - please can you explain what I said in my posts that could be construed as bullying?

FallOfTheHouseOfUtterlyButterly · 21/01/2025 10:23

And the deleted posts were because they were "troll hunting" not bullying

No that's not true. She said "I accused women of not knowing their own biology. " . Which is a lie. What rubbish

If you look back and read, some posters said to me "how could you change a tampon and not wee at the same time".

And I pointed out that of course it is possible to change a tampon and not wee at the same time.

Which of course it is. And other posters came on and Said they change a tampon and don't wee at the same time, as well.

So I never once "accused women of not knowing their own biology"

So she did lie.

I see that most of her posts have been deleted now

So you're now denying the EVIDENCE provided are you?

You literally made several snarky comments in replies to people saying things about how biology works. Which is saying they don't know how it works.

So, yes, you are a liar

People are just humouring you OP. You seem to have a severe victim complex. Are you planning on spending the rest of your day goading posters and being passive aggressive on this thread, whilst claiming you are being bullied? Just drop the rope and move on.

This is the most batshit thread I’ve seen in ages.

Right let's get into it.

I said it's possible to change a tampon and not wee at the same time.

Are you saying that's wrong?

Because it's right.
