To be annoyed at the lack of bathrooms

Applecharm25 · 20/01/2025 13:39

I have my period. I can feel that i need to change my tampon.

I'm out walking round my city. There are no public bathrooms anywhere near me.

I see a sign for a bathroom in a small shopping centre near me. I walk in. The bathroom is actually in a shop. I'm told that the bathroom is only available for paying customers.

So now I have to get in a long queue and wait further and buy something while I really need to change my tampon.

Surely there should be better toilet services available.

Oh OP. Step away from the thread, calm down and perhaps try some meditation in your bathroom.

Nope.

OP, the reason people have reacted the way they have is due to the way you have been conducting yourself. You've been combative, arrogant, and dismissive, of other people's experiences. You've told women they don't understand their own biology. I won't say any more, but you're really not the victim here.

ChicLilacSeal · 21/01/2025 09:16

Your best bet is a hotel. They always have loos somewhere on the ground floor. There are none at one end of my town, so that's what I do.

And you're totally wrong.

As several other posters have pointed out now, there has been a very nasty bullying pile -on of me.

People on this thread have said that they are shocked at how I have been treated. Over a thread that is very nice.

I see that mumsnet have also posted this

Hello everyone,
We are getting a lot of reports about this thread so we just wanted to say that we have no reason to believe the OP is anything but genuine.
And please remember that troll hunting goes against our Talk guidelines - posters who continually troll hunt on the boards may have their accounts suspended which is something we would rather avoid.

Absolutely. I shall refrain from commenting any more.

The bullies always deny that there is any bullying going on.

Even though other posters and mumsnet themselves have now pointed out the bullying of me on this thread

We definitely need more public toilets. I would be more than happy to pay to use them. Im not sure about a dedicated tampon changing cubicle though. I think it would make more sense to have a toilet in it, so those that need to use it when they change a tampon (I definitely do) can. But those that don't need to use it, don't have to.

Saying that, I quite like the idea of a little space for for women to go to freshen up. It could be nicely decorated, have scented candles, a couple of toilets stocked with sanitary products, little soaps, hand cream etc. There could be an attendant/cleaner always present, a bit like the ones in nightclub toilets (the "Lollipop, Freshen Up Lady), and there is a selection of deodorants and perfumes to use. A couple of dressing tables with mirrors and suitable lighting.
Maybe even tea, coffee, and wine could be available.
I'm not exactly sure what would be in a tampon changing cubicle. Just a bin and a sink, with soap, and a hand dryer? In some ways this does have its merits. I loathe public toilets as they're often filthy, and I have to be breaking my neck desperate to use one. If my periods weren't so heavy, that taking a tampon out is like opening up the floodgates, I probably wouldn't mind a cubicle with no toilet, just for this purpose.

I'm not a man. If you look at any of my past poats/threads, i am a woman on all of them.

And as mumsnet have pointed out already - troll hunting is against talk guidelines and if you do it you can get suspended.

I've reported you again.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this (haven't read all 29 pages), but bus stations and train stations are also decent options.

It would be even more filthy than a toilet cubicle, for reasons outlined by others.

I've also given thought to the fact that many women - and especially those from abroad - would expect to find a toilet on such a cubicle. It's a recipe for absolute carnage.

For fuck sake. Im not a man. Stop abusing people. Stop bullying people.

I hope you do get suspended.

Awful bullies like you should not be on here.

One person has mentioned bullying besides you! There is "no pile on at all! You're more aggrieved that the majority of people think your idea is, as I said before, batshit! Hence the host of snarky comments from you! You've been the one who's been rude and confrontational throughout the thread when people have challenged you. If you can't accept different points of view, then I suggest you don't post on a public forum?

How is it abusive to say someone is a man? Nothing wrong with being a man, unless you're online winding women up, berating them and potentially worse...

Wouldn't bother me at all if I did get suspended, but I hope MN take a closer look at you too.

Halfemptyhalfling · 21/01/2025 09:27

If you are happy to pay more council tax then there can be more toilets. Usually there are some in big stores pubs or supermarkets where they don't mind so much

It's abusive to call me a man. When I have said I'm not a man.

I've said I'm not a man

So why call me a man?

You're calling me a liar.

That is abusive.

Nope.

Maybe tale a look at how you've spoken to literally everyone on this thread except the small few who agree with you. Maybe look at how you've berated women and accused them of not understanding their biology. Maybe see how you're not the lovely person you think you are, and you might see why I (and several others) have thought you could be a man. You're very aggressive, obtuse and belligerent.

borntobequiet · 21/01/2025 09:30

Applecharm25 · 21/01/2025 09:12

And you can't always plan.

You don't know how long you will be out and about.

For example I've often experienced train delays.

So I might think that I will get somewhere in 1 hour. Then you get to the train station and find that the train has been delayed for 30 mins. Then the ladies bathroom in the train station could be closed for cleaning etc etc

Now a normal train station in the UK is definitely a place you would never see the word “bathroom” to indicate toilets.
Though yes, all too often station toilets are closed, in smaller stations. However, the loos at Paddington are now free to use (not sure it’s the case for other mainline London stations) though the queues can be long for the Ladies on Platform 12. I advise Platform 1, if you’re OK with stairs.

Ooh another bully is back!

no if you go back and read , more than one person has pointed out the bullying.

Of course you are going to deny it.

Bully's never admit it about themselves do they!
They never say "yes I'm a bully!'

They blame the victim and tell them it's their fault.

So predictable
