Is it really that wrong to want for your country what Trump stands for?

I know that there are plenty of threads on Trump at the moment, but most of them are designed to rubbish the guy. That’s been done to death in the last 10 years.

He has still won two presidential elections so perhaps it’s time to move the discussion on a bit.Let’s put aside Trump’s personality, bluster, and whether he will deliver or not, for a second.

Is it really so wrong and bad to want to go for what his core message is? Why is the far right label used so liberally and will we ever see a government in this country which can tackle this madness -

A stop to or huge reduction in illegal immigration

Putting your own country first ahead of internationalism. It’s not a novel idea and certainly not a byword for automatically wanting war. In fact Trump’s argument is that war is bad

Saying no the climate hysteria. Climate change is real but climate emergency seems to be a made up concept to simply tax people to death to re distribute taxes to government lobbyists. Why should people accept being poorer in the name of this dangerous ideology

Putting a stop to woke madness. When did it become ok for state sponsored mutilation of children? Men pretending to be women in prison and hospitals getting access to women’s spaces. People being sanctioned do not using the correct pronouns

Driving the economy forward and putting a stop to endless freebies for those who have no intention of contributing to the system and refuse to work because they are sad.

The fact that someone as eccentric as Trump has to fly the flag for common sense ideas shows you just how batshit the political discourse has become.

Actually dissident European settlers built America and made it a great country.

Somehow European rejects built a country called Australia that wasn’t too bad either tbh.

A country is an aggregate of its people. If its people are productive and optimistic, that will be reflected in the national character.

I find British people, whilst polished and civilized, to be pessimistic do-nothings who are resentful of success. And that’s certainly reflected in the state of your country right now.

Sorry but I’m tired of the constant sniping from a declining power that hectors from an increasingly bad position.

Tbf you have a point, just the state of reaction over the last couple of days, on here mostly.

Yet here you are, hectoring us on a UK based and originated Forum.

I assume you live in this God Forsaken country? so i guess that begs a very obvious question.....

callmebuffy · 21/01/2025 09:52

Got to be honest what you have written makes sense.

I don't agree with pardoning the Capitol rioters and all the self-serving shit he does.

If we could separate the two then I'd be more in favour,

Banyon · 21/01/2025 10:09

Hunter Biden pardon and all the other Biden family pre-emptive pardons .. siblings and wives.

That seems very suspicious.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/01/2025 12:34

Even if people do agree with some of what he is saying, or with his motivation for saying it, I still cannot see how this can be divorced from the awfulness that is Trump - boasting about sexual abuse, being serially unfaithful, mocking a disabled reporter, inciting his supporters to protest about the previous election result (resulting in a lot of violence), refusing to take part in the handover of the Presidency to Joe Biden - that, on its own, makes him a mannerless oaf with no class or standards whatsoever.

And now, amongst the raft of executive orders he has signed, is one that removes the cap on the price of medications - so ordinary Americans will have to pay vastly more for vital drugs, even life saving drugs, just so that that Big Pharma can make bigger profits. I would love one of the pro-Trump supporters to explain to me how making life saving drugs unaffordable for ordinary people will benefit Americans.

seriouslyfunny · 21/01/2025 12:44

I accidentally voted YANBU 😂

Especially about climate change, I think it will eventually kill us as a species and it will certainly make life harder until that point.

gregaliara · 21/01/2025 17:48

"Are you forgetting the riots in Charlottesville when somebody was killed by white nationalists and trump wouldn't condemn them." THIS IS FABRICATION AND PROPAGANDA HE DID CONDEMN. So unfortunate that this someone for political activist reasons fabricates a story spreads it when it found false DONT CORREC T THE UNTRUTHFUL PROPAGANDA BAD THING.

Sharptonguedwoman · 21/01/2025 17:49

The problem with gender has caused more people to vote for him than might otherwise, I think. I understand the immigration problem. The rest is just horrific. Drilling in Alaska, of course the climate’s in trouble, (he’s very stupid),
allowing high charges for insulin-just evil.
i think that there’s a view that somehow there’ll be lots of jobs. I’m doubtful.

FlappingMadly · 21/01/2025 17:50

I voted you BU because I don't want an autocracy here. Be careful what you wish for. It's really easy to lose democracy.

Are you serious . He ran for president to stay out of jail foremost . Now he can't believe people voted for him he's out for revenge. For the next 4 years at least he'll be vindictive and cruel. I'm glad I'm getting to old to care less and less but mostly feel for the young of America. Hell has frozen over and I've danced with the devil in the pale blue moonlight

Putneydad7 · 21/01/2025 17:55

He and Melania both launched cryptos in the last few days, probably because even he wouldn't dare as president. They are both worth billions out of thin air. They are ponzi schemes and his followers are the TOTAL LOSERS piling in. He has no shame and no care for the fools who are easily parted from their money, such a snake oil salesman. So no I don't really want that here.

SunflowerSeahorse · 21/01/2025 17:55

Yes

PoppyTries · 21/01/2025 18:08

Horriblevirusagain · 20/01/2025 07:38

Would love him to run the UK. Our country is a disgrace now and we need a decent strong leader to put it right again. One of the things he is sorting out is finding the missing children trafficked into USA. Thousands of them. Coaches full of crying kids disappearing In front of everyone and Donald is the only one who wants to find them. Biden didn't give a hoot he just wanted to eat ice cream and chat with the Queer community!!

Please tell me this is sarcasm.

There are many things on this earth I do not know, but one of the things I know with 100% certainty is that Donald Trump and his ilk do not give a rats arse about any children, whether they are trafficked or not.

Did you miss when they were separating immigrant children from their parents? Did you miss his weird little henchman giggling at the idea of putting human beings in cages? Donald Trump is a FELON THIRTY-FOUR TIMES OVER. He has been found guilty of sexual assault. He has been credibly accused of raping at least one underaged girl. He has HIMSELF admitted that he liked to go into the dressing rooms of underaged teenaged girls while they were dressing.

You bootlickers disgust me. These are truly dark times.

busymomtoone · 21/01/2025 18:10

Oh good grief! His first day included the shutting down of a woman’s advisory reproductive rights website; pardoning people who assaulted the police on Capitol Hill (and freeing self confessed far right gang members); advocating renaming geographic areas which belong to other countries/ groups; abolishing advisories and recommendations which are designed to minimise climate change ( perhaps you don’t believe that exists despite all the science to prove it) ; considering abolishing birth rights so even if LEGAL immigrants settled and born and brought up in USA may be deported; oh and leaving the WHO ( partly because he is anti vaccine and also presumably any increase in illnesses will benefit private medicine/ pharma). He has picked a chap who is unelected and likes doing nazi salutes to head up a 20 strong cabinet to “ save money” which will of course include ( already) abolishing anything which favours equality ( of race or sex). He is a proven lawbreaker with at best dubious views and morality regarding females, and has made fun of those with disabilities. He is fawned over and feted by white rich techie guys who can’t believe they have basically been given licence to do almost whatever they want so long as they throw some significant bones ($$$) in the orange man’s direction. But yup, sure , who wants freedom, respect for all people regardless of their identity or accident of birth and world peace? Already ( in a country that has no statutory paid holidays or sick leave) issued an edict insisting no working from home. Let’s see how this all pans out for women, world peace , climate change etc before you are so quick to wish a clone over here just because the Daily Mail tells you wokeness is the biggest issue around !!

Yes.

Each to their own.

I personally don’t want misogyny, racism, xenophobia, extreme inequality and politically motivated releasing of violent criminals who try to forcibly overturn the results of democratic elections for my country but that’s just me.

Anyway as the racists say - if you don’t like it where you are….leave.

So, immigrants then.

(And to give all the credit to European immigrants and ignore all the backbreaking labour “provided” by traficked Africans and then later waves of migrants is laughable.)

FeedHedgehogssCatBiscuits · 21/01/2025 18:24

Trump derangement syndrome is real.
At least Trump won’t start any wars and he also knows what a woman is.
Win win!

Another great thing about Trump’s election is that it’s upsetting so many obnoxious middle class w⚓️
Bring it on!
