In fairness a pretty high percentage of Trump supporters also believe that the last election was stolen, that Hillary Clinton is a blood sucking pedophile, and that if homosexuals pray hard enough they can 'pray the gay away' so I'm not sure that 'they voted for him' is evidence of rational thought on behalf of the electorate. (The same supporters incidentally who think that those of us who acknowledge that gender identity is not always congruent with biological sex are mentally fucked, yet are deeply comfortable with believing in lizard people and Trump being specially anointed by god).

He got voted in because people in the US are absolutely sick and tired of all the far-left activism resulting in things like women's sports being compromised by AMAB athletes, puberty blockers for children, pronoun policing, endless protests and riots, cancel culture, etc. Rightly or wrongly, it's just way too extreme for most people. And the left haven't helped themselves by being totally intolerant of every Trump voter and painting every one as a racist bigot. Some are, of course, but others are small business owners who need the kind of regulations that Republicans espouse, some aren't very knowledgeable, some prefer the religiousness of the Republicans, lots of reasons. It's worth knowing that a few short decades ago, the Republican party was nothing like today's party. It was much more moderate. So you'll get those party faithfuls voting, too. They're voting for old Republican principles like low government interference in people's lives, low corporate taxes to let businesses flourish, etc. and not necessarily for Trump.

The thing about women's sport really matters because those athletic scholarships are worth hundreds of thousands in fees, and the high level of college sports often leads to big things, like the Olympics and world champs and then valuable sponsorships and endorsements. It's not like being benched from the University of East Anglia's netball team. (No offence to them!)

I'm British but live in the US, in a blue state. I'm not a citizen so can't vote. I would never vote for Trump, but I don't automatically think that every Trump voter is the soul of evil either, and I can tell you that everyone I know in this deeply blue state does. The intolerance of the left has a lot to answer for in this.

His behaviour has always been disgusting . He went on to ogling young women at his beauty pageants and making very inappropriate comments to young girls . One was 10 ! He has been repeatedly investigated for tax evasion and fraud and found guilty in one case on 34 counts He has been investigated for sexual assault and found guilty . He has repeatedly used highly offensive and blatantly false talk and accusations about Obama’s true citizenship . He repeatedly uses inflammatory lies and exaggerations in a profuse way that has never been done before . Trump is the first President to be a convicted felon . His policies and appointments have led to women’s bodies no longer having body autonomy and banning of books that are considered classics . Trump has created a divide in America like no other President has before ! All with lies and exaggerations of truth that his naive and for the most part not well educated supporters fall for . So yes , many blue states do have little patience for those who support him .

Is your belief that these monsters’ crimes should be ignored until we can ensure no one from other ethnicities rape young girls?

I grew up in Rotherham, in an area of it that was particularly plagued by this. In my class were girls who were victims of it, children who were products of their mums being victims of it in the 80’s and children who went on to have dads and brothers arrested for it or were arrested/ accused of it themselves.

We had a councillor who was accused of it whose daughters, with whom he has very close relationships with, work in victim support, with access to his victims details/ accusations etc.

The situation in Rotherham is horrendous. And people like you are the exact reason it has been going on in broad day light for 40 years.

I think some of the people saying "well he won the election" don't understand a key difference in how a lot of people in the UK approach politicians. Lots of Brits feel that it is healthy to criticise whoever is in power.We know he was fairly elected.We know that Starmer was elected fairly and we bitch about him too when he does something we don't like even if we voted for him.. It is not because he is Trump, we just feel that all leaders are fair game. And IMHO that is exactly how it should be.

it's absolutely ridiculous that people will compare a man who murdered over 6 million Jews and other minorities/nationalities with Trump. Whilst Trump is undoubtedly an idiot, he's there because the Democrats weren't able to put forward a credible threat.

Though he didn't murder all those people until he gained complete power. The comparison being made is with Hitler at the point that's equivalent to where Trump is now.

I mean, I hope you're right, and that time shows that the comparison wasn't justified.

We'll see.
