"He is completely amoral"

This.

Trump does what's good for Trump.

Always.

I'm pleased Trump is now President. He will sign an executive order today which means women's rights will be restored and the live medical experiment on children ends.

No, he won't.

He's said he will, he also said on day one he will lower grocery prices (which have already risen sharply since he was elected), that he will repeal every executive order from the Biden presidency, he will immediately stop all illegal immigration, he will pardon all those convicted after January 6, and also made reference to the "race horse" theory.

He's going to destroy America and has used certain issues as a dog whistle

shayri · 20/01/2025 08:44

🤣🤣🤣I'm neither a Trump nor Biden/Harris fan, but the hyperbole on this thread is what's staggering
here!

People from the UK are much more knowledgeable about US politics/culture than people from the US are about UK politics and culture. Elon Musk knows absolutely fuck all about the UK but amplifies the views of right-wing fascist thug, grifter and convicted criminal, Tommy Robinson (not even his real name). Tommy Robinson's illegal antics collapsed a grooming trial. Imagine how the victims felt, giving their testimony and it all be for nothing due to this cunt.

You support an adjudicated sex offender in Trump and his other cabinet picks so how you have the brass neck (British saying) to spout your uninformed drivel about UK politics on here is baffling.

izimbra · 20/01/2025 08:48

The most amazing thing that's happened in recent years is the ideological marriage between the misogynist fascist right and gender critical feminists in their hate and longing to persecute transgender women.

Just staggering.

izimbra · 20/01/2025 08:50

"You just elected a man from a Party that handed over British girls to be raped by gangs of Muslim men because to do anything to stop it would have cost Labour votes."

This is nuclear level disinformation and brain rot that will fuck us all.

Musk is a danger to humanity.

most gender critical feminists are planted firmly on the left of politics, but you knew that.

Yup. I read the Morning Star and know that biological sex is immutable and matters in life and law.

Peace and Socialism ✌

Rather amusing to see Mandelson perform a sharp volte face, and genuflect towards Trump, whilst Starmer has slammed on the brakes re the Chagos Islands. Talk about two-faced.

I hope the new administration in DC exacts revenge on Labour, for the Harris campaign support, for the vitriol from Lammy, Rayner, Streeting, Khan, and Milliband, to name a few.

I also hope that Musk now takes off the gloves, and does a proper job on Starmer.

Edited

What, you are breathlessly waiting for an unelected foreign billionaire to further interfere in the UK's politics and defame the elected prime minister? What a lovely patriotic sentiment. Words simply fail me.

Tuning back in to Mumsnet after a few days' break after all the Elon threads... I thought we collectively decided in those threads that no-one is allowed to have opinions about other countries that aren't theirs?

Have you just landed from Mars OP. What exactly have you seen that is so shocking.

And in any case what is so shocking about wanting to secure your country’s borders? 8 million illegal migrants have come into the US on Biden’s watch. That is more shocking than anything Trump says.

It’s not a novel idea. Your reaction is giving ‘faux rage’.

Biden actually deported many more illegal immigrants than Trump did during his previous term in office.

user1492757084 · 20/01/2025 09:01

America has too many of it's people in dire need, not being heard, no medical cover etc. They see Trump as a saviour.

We can only wait and watch what will occur with President Trump part two.

izimbra · 20/01/2025 09:01

@Shayri

"most gender critical feminists are planted firmly on the left of politics, but you knew that."

Ya think?

Which just shows how much their hatred of transgender women has f*cked with their value system, that so many of them have raised their voices in support of the fascist, openly misogynist adjudicated rapist Trump, because of the Republicans enthusiasm for persecuting transgender people.

Meltingslush · 20/01/2025 09:03

GameofPhones · 20/01/2025 00:11

The country depends on undocumented immigrants for labour. What will happen if they are all deported?

He just wants the bad apples removed. The ones that have criminal intent .

Phthia · 20/01/2025 09:03

Over 500 people in America have already been killed by shooting this year. You are celebrating a continued death rate of the same order or higher, to say nothing of catastrophic gun-related injuries.

if you call persecuting transgender women stopping the use of puberty blockers and removing males from female spaces like
sport...
I call that basic safeguarding.

SassK · 20/01/2025 09:05

I was indifferent to Trump at one time; mildly off put. Not because he's more sleazy/corrupt than others who have made it to the upper echelons of business/politics (he's not).

I've, however, warmed to Trump's chutzpah; find it entertaining even. I'm a moderate at heart, so I'm not necessarily comfortable to find myself thus (because my warming is borne of the awful divisiveness that permeates society and culture nowadays - perpetuated by people who consider themselves progressive 🙄).

Nostril flaring is one thing, but this hysterical end of the world is nigh bullshit is another entirely. Trump has been subject to two serious assassination attempts during this campaign (an innocent bystander was killed). It's dreadful.

Toseland · 20/01/2025 09:06

It's the restoration of women's rights I'm interested in. Single-sex toilets, prisons, hospital wards, intimate care for the disabled, safeguarding of children.
I'm not really interested in Trans anything - it's not real.

But at the same time they're moving to remove women's access to abortions and birth control. How can they be protecting women when this is how they act?

Patriotism?

You mean akin to the patriots who allowed unfettered access to the UK, who take to the streets for Hamas, who provide pro bono legal defence to those who despise the UK.

An emphatic yes, to your question - the left wing do not represent me.

I agree with Vance when he says the economy shouldn't depend on an underclass of people with no rights.
They are undermining the wages of legal immigrants and citizens.

The "oh who will clean my pool for a pittance?" argument is pretty obscene.

maxplanck · 20/01/2025 09:15

@MyNameIsX so patriotic brain dead rioters who destroy their own communities represent you ? The left can be skeptical about large scale immigration too but don’t need to flock to racists like TR. Labour has deported more foreign criminals and arrested more trafficking gangs than the tories did in 14 years.
