I'm quite looking forward to this. And wondered if anyone else was. I don't expect so but thought I would ask anyway!

Lots of people voted for him because they felt better off under his lsst presidency and that was voters of all ethnic backgrounds
I was watching some interviews after he was elected ( as I couldn't quite understand why he was voted in )
And that seemed to be a recurring theme
Whilst they didn't like him as a person they liked his politics.

I'm not in that mindset. But neither am I in the mindset that thinks a man who is a proven sexual predator is going to be a champion of women's rights.

Didn't he promise to end the war in Ukraine in his first 24 hours? Will be looking out for that triumphant announcement on Tuesday am then. He'd better not hang around in wherever the inauguration is now happening. Vlad will want to chat.

I’m glad I don’t have a TV anymore. What’s happening in the US isn’t clever or funny, it’s just really sad.

Thankfully, there’s still a lot of good in the world. I just have to look harder for it, because the UK media is obsessed with the US to the point that most countries rarely (or never) get a mention. Including some of our European neighbours.

I think everyone who is a Trump supporter (and who dreams of this kind of "strong no nonsense" leader inflicted on every country on Earth) is going to see what this kind of leadership really does to the country, its people and world stability as a whole. Shame the ordinary people will suffer; and I feel very sorry for Americans who did not vote for him as the level of polarisation and hate towards anyone who is not towing the line is insane.

I do hope though in the long run it will quiet down the extreme right wing love affair the world seem to be having at the moment.

Well personally, I really hope it means we’re forced to eventually scrap Net Zero by 2030 and that we’re ‘encouraged’ to manage our borders a bit better. One can hope.

YANBU. I'm not a Trump supporter but will be watching because I find his weirdness, and the fact that he's actually been elected again, fascinating.

Also interesting to see how the family interact especially Melania with her lovely smiles to camera and audience interspersed with cold hard stares at her DH.

Additionally, Trump can also demonstrate to the Labour Party how you actually get economic growth.
