Aibu in thinking this is gross. You don't need a bra to produce fake nipples. For what, so men look at you?

I'm interested in why would you buy a bra with fake nipples, when there are thousands of bras which don't have them? I can only assume it's because you want people( men) to look at you and think your breasts are bare underneath your clothes.

As I asked earlier, do you have an issue with thongs? Stockings? Other “sexy” underwear?

Not everyone buys this type of underwear to show off walking down the street in a skimpy top. And even if they did, why does it matter to you so much?

I don’t have to justify why I buy the clothes I do to you, or anyone else for that matter

I've never noticed if anyone is wearing a thong or stockings as they walk down the street or in a public place. Also there are other reasons why someone would wear a thong or stockings other than being 'sexy' eg no visible vpl or not liking feeling sweaty in tights and not liking hold ups digging in.
If they wear them in private then of course that's up to them and I would think the same about this bra. Anything like crotchless knickers etc is clearly never meant to be seen in public at all. But there's no other reason whatsoever anyone would wear this bra except wanting eyes to be drawn to the nipples, and that's the difference.
The tone of your answer implies that you do however wear this bra in public, and as I said, there's only one reason why a woman would do so.
That's of course up to you, I'm just very glad that I don't know any woman in my family and friends who would ever wear that bra, let alone go out in public wearing it.

I haven’t worn it out in public actually but I don’t see it as any different to showing off cleavage, wearing a push up bra or revealing clothing etc.

There’s no “reason” for a woman to wear a dress with a thigh high split, or high heels, or fake nails, or make up… and yet many, many women do, even though they are impractical, expensive and so on. You could say there’s only one reason for wearing those items too, but it still doesn’t make it true for all women.

As I’ve said previously, if it’s not to your taste don’t buy one. But this pearl clutching about the “type” of women who could possibly wear such a thing is pathetic

High heels (with jeans for example) fake nails, normal make up (to give them woman a bit more confidence for eg) are not in the same ball park of nipple add on bras!

The above is to make women feel
more confident in their appearance not to make men think of them sexually. The latter may happen but it’s not generally the primary purpose.

If someone has well bitten nails then they may feel self conscious that people (men and women!) would think they have horrible hands so nail extensions will make them feel better and ‘normal’.

Same could he said for make up. My friend has bad acne scares and hates her skin so would cover it up to make it appear more ‘normal’.

As you can see, the difference between the above example and nipple showing bras is that my examples are of women are wanting to fit in with other women and give themselves more confidence. It’s nothing to do with the male gaze. I can’t image any man saying look at her she’s got fake nails she’s horny

So not the same at all. Buying a bra with erect nipple pieces is wanting attention, not from women (as the majority would be like 😮 WTF or not give a shit) but men would love it so to say it’s not for the male gaze is bullshit! If you like to be eyes up by men that’s ok but own it.

Yes, and others have posted that some women who have undergone mastectomies have bought these bras to feel more confident, but that’s been called bullshit.

Ive lost nearly 8 stone in weight and my boobs and excess skin look awful. I bought this bra for a bit of extra confidence as it actually looks like I have nice, natural boobs when worn under a tshirt. I’m not sure I’d have the balls to wear it out and about which is just as well because according to some on this thread I’m a cheap, easy slut who is signalling to all and sundry that I’d sleep with anyone. Am I allowed a breast lift or would that be solely for the male gaze too?

I can’t see that my example so different from someone with acne covering it up. Your friend wears makeup so people don’t know she has acne, I bought this bra so I can pretend for a moment my boobs don’t look like Snoopy’s fucking ears. But of course, randomers on the internet know my reasons better than me….

MartinCrieffsLemon · 18/01/2025 00:36

Trying to shame women for maybe wanting to attract the male gaze is frankly gross

Sometimes, yes, we do want to attract men...

Paisleyandpolkadots · 18/01/2025 01:02

I just wonder sometimes how anybody (pervy men?) managed to persuade young women that it is empowering to wear skimpy clothing. Most of all, I marvel how they got people who identify as feminists to defend this stance as being empowering. Young men, with very few exceptions, are not going around in skimpy clothes which highlight their erect penis.

1457bloom · 18/01/2025 07:45

You could say that wearing makeup is also slutty as it makes you more attractive to men!

I think it's girls noticing men's reaction to their physical appearance and liking or exploiting it like Marilyn Monroe who may now seem classy but was quite daring for that era.

Just wear a thinner vest…

1457bloom · 18/01/2025 12:02

All this outrage but how many of us wear make up, what's wrong with looking natural like men do?
