On the Beach advert. Is it just me?

Or is it borderline offensive? I like to swear as well as the next person but this just sounds so crude and awful. I can imagine if you're a bit hard of hearing then you'd be quite shocked.

I don't often get annoyed by this type of thing but this is really winding me up at the moment.

I just wanted to say that I love your descriptive term, and would love to steal it for my own use! “Tradfam northern gammonista” perfectly describes many people I know / am related to!

I wonder what substances the creative team were on to think we'd be impressed by the kind of family portrayed in these adverts. Most people would be glad they were in a lounge away from them.

Every now and then DP and I look at each other after an advert and say 'how much coke do you think that took?' Mostly at perfume and car ads to be fair, but others too.

I’m not a swearer but I don’t see the fuss. He’s clearly saying ‘booking’ and ‘booker’.

I hate this advert. It absolutely makes me want to never book a holiday with on the beach at the risk of that family being there.

Its just lazy advertising, they've phoned it in thinking it's funny. It isn't, its very basic bitch level.

Hate this advert, but not really noticed the "borderline offensive " language.
The one i am getting fed up with is the Pure Cremation " one. I am sick of seeing the bloke (not attractive) in the bath!

I hate it so much that I tune it out and have only just realised it's not an ad for booking.com because of reading this thread. So On the Beach (who?) and booking.com have both missed out with me. But didn't booking.com have an ad a few years ago using the same pathetic play on words, with that gravelly voiced actor whose name I can never remember?

And the wife talks to him from outside the bathroom!

And surely prevents any travel down sarf? In case of any Northern contamination. 😂

Must say, even my 17 year old son commented that the On The Beach advert was crude the other day! It's not big and it's not clever...

The family look unpleasant, the advert is unpleasant and I don’t like Paddy McGuinness. People discussing it is obviously the point for the advertisers, but it has the effect of people not choosing that company, which can’t be what they want.

Paddy McGuinness did do one good thing, kill off Question of Sport which was about 10 years past its sell by date.
