I think fillers look awful.
I think any fillers make anyone look older but thats my opinion.
Its down to whoever wants it and good luck to you if it makes you feel better who cares.
Im not going to judge them because of it as i could get judge myself for sleeping around when im on holiday.
Op if your not happy go back.

It's not poison. Ridiculous comment. It's a natural substance which is already in your skin.

Bad results come from bad practitioners. Sadly there are too many around now who are not properly trained but jump on the band wagon.

I’m afraid I totally disagree with you, I’ve seen twenty year olds with messed up faces and many, many older ladies (private school mums with limitless funds), the thing they all have in common is when they want to stop (often before in fact), the filler displaces and leaves their faces looking melted. I can tell exactly who has and hasn’t had filler - it’s blatantly obvious, sorry to burst your bubble.

That’s before we discuss why we are in a place societally that values women so little and only superficially, so without any thought or care, women as young as 20 are embarking on years of these unnecessary treatments that leave them looking melted. It’s a terrible and sad state of affairs.

That’s precisely what it is, you can see someone has messed with their face so you think ‘gosh I guess they must have been pretty old in the first place - to do the treatments’. Then there’s the odd melted texture you see in the skin, where the filler has displaced.

No it’s patronising. I haven’t asked for life advice. I asked advice on filler.

Yet you shout down anyone who tells you it doesn't look good. It really seems that you are posting for validation more than for advice. I'm not even among those who think that all cosmetic surgery is bad, but I really don't know what you want from this thread. The filler did not work for you, if I saw that particular filler job on anyone it would not make me want to get filler. I am 42 and my eyes look better than that without any surgery: I actually would be interested in an excellent procedure but not in the person who did yours.

28andgreat · 15/01/2025 15:48

As per always - some horrid comments on here.

Unfortunately OP - That isn't great filler work! I have mine done around 2 months ago and have no lines/lumps.
Did your practitioner use her finger to 'push' (for lack of a better word) the filler so it was flat? or did she inject and then leave it?

Either way, The filler wont go anywhere without dissolving - maybe see if you can book a consultation with a different practitioner and get their opinion?

Whst is under eye filler meant to look like

So you won't back down on your opinion that fillers are 'poison'?

It's not about 'society'.

I take offence as a professional educated woman of 50+ who's had a slight touch of fillers which no one realised- not even my adult kids. But it made me look less tired which I wanted. It made ME feel better not to look tired and drawn.

If you want to go au naturel, keep your leg hair, armpit hair, never have your hair done, are happy to never use make up or look after your skin, that's fine.
Carry on.

Yes, I agree that 20 year olds don't need fillers unless for medical reasons, but to judge all other women is really not on.

There are plenty of images online or on the websites of cosmetic surgeons etc.

In a nutshell they are supposed to fill the hollow under the eyes which can make you look tired. They replace lost volume.

HPBrownSauce · 15/01/2025 16:16

@burberrygodess The filler is in the wrong place.
It should be further out towards your cheeks not in a line like yours is.

Most of these botched jobs are because the practitioner doesn't know what to do, injects not deeply enough, or in the wrong place, or chooses the wrong product for the area. There are lots of different types of filler, some heavy duty, others more 'flexible'.

Take a look at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic website- dermal fillers- before and after photos. You can see one image of tear trough fillers. Very subtle.

ShinyPebble32 · 15/01/2025 16:34

Cue hundreds of people who know nothing about filler giving their opinions on filler 🙄
You’re still within the settling period OP, but best wait to see what the practitioner says. They should offer a top up after 2 weeks (possibly longer for tear troughs) to correct any irregularities - have they mentioned that?

Survivingnotthriving24 · 14/01/2025 23:26

This!

Do not let a nurse near your face with filler, it's an absolute disgrace it's not illegal.

Why not a nurse? The nurse who does my botox (she also does filler but I don't get that) has a masters in aesthetics and was an opthalmology nurse before going into aesthetics. She is fantastic and has a massive waiting list.

Bogginsthe3rd · 15/01/2025 16:37

burberrygodess · 14/01/2025 21:09

Excuse the hair it was wet

That entire bump is just filler. I didn’t have a bump there before.

In addition what doesn't help is I think as we get older a lot of the fat in the face goes leaving us looking gaunt (if we aren't plump). I would get the filler dissolved as it looks v lumpy. Not sure of your age but in 50s and 60s unless it's a facelift you go for, alterations may not work.

TheGreenTurtle · 15/01/2025 16:38

I’’m not sure why but a lot of people are not candidates for tear trough filler apparently. I have the very slightest bit of volume loss and have considered alternatives like PRP.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 15/01/2025 16:40

I'm not sure how this thread has descended into this...

@burberrygodess
Yanbu. Thats BAD.

Ideally get that dissolved.
I had under eye done once and it worked but was v subtle and gone in 4 months. At the price point i paid icouldnt justify it.

Check out dr sabrina shah

Loving you putting everyone in their place 😂. A few of my friends have this and I think they would be disappointed with your results. I’d be asking for the review to be sooner. Hope you get sorted!

Is there such a 'thing' as a Masters in Aesthetics?
It's a made-up qualification from companies offering tuition in fillers.

The only people who've been near my face are 3 doctors, two of which were also qualified dental surgeons.

Sorry but that filler is not 'settling in'.

The filler should be massaged or smoothed at the time of injecting.

It's far too close to her nose, for a start.

My only experience of tear trough fillers was an instant result.
I stopped because of the cost and the fact they only lasted 4 months, but also because even in the most expert hands there is a risk of serious side effects, like it affecting eyesight if the filler migrates or blocks a vein.

I was advised I'd only get a 50% improvement because it was too dangerous to go closer to veins/ arteries and eyes.

OP, a lot of people on this thread are over exaggerating. It doesn’t look bad or like heavy bags at all. Tear trough filler is notorious for getting bumps, you could ask for a tiny drop of hylaronidaise and massaging to dissolve the lump. Due to where it is it can last for years as that area doesn’t move enough to break it down quickly. You have to weigh up whether you prefer your features with it and can deal with lumps or not. As it will likely happen again if you choose to get it in the future.

oneandonlygreg · 15/01/2025 17:15

I had under eye filler over a year ago and had to get it dissolved because it had done the same thing. Apparently it's very hard to get right. Don't worry. Get them to dissolve and find someone else.

Under eye filler is a bad idea for the reasons you have discovered. I would choose blepheroplasty instead any day and I’m not into surgery.

There’s a piece on YT by a US plastic surgeon about why he stopped using filler under the eyes and what he found in patients who have had it done. Really recommend you watch it.

Because it's a valid comment.

@ManchesterPie

it isn’t though. You might think filler looks terrible. That other poster does. Lots of people don’t think filler looks terrible. I don’t. So you can’t speak for everyone. It’s only your opinion. Not everyone in the world thinks like you and thinks that filler looks terrible. Hth.
