AIBU to think that the vibe has shifted? I think it has, something about Trudeau standing down seems to confirm this.

But I know there are still people (often those trying to engage in it) who say it never even was a thing. Was it?

Maybe it's still in full force. But it feels like something has changed. Does it take a while for everyone to realise?

Trump and common sense in the same sentance , wow!

The only time that will happen is when a judge issues his sentence.

It depends how one defines "perfectly reasonable opinions".

"Male rapists shouldn't be in womens prisons" - perfectly reasonable?

'Watered down' ??

You think the half assed 'culture wars' point scoring legislation from the Tories was fit for purpose? Allowing Andrew Tate and Holocaust deniers preaching hate on campus with a free hand? On the other foot it would have allowed extreme Muslims to preach.

The National Union of Jewish students called it an '"antisemite charter" for fucks sake.

The 'watering down' you call, is quoted as 'The Union of Jewish Students (UJS) welcomed the revised act, saying it "takes into account the concerns raised by UJS and other parties".'

@7plusthinking my apologies. I originally read it in the Telegraph which isn’t considered a balanced view on mn and I didn’t read all the BBC article before posting.
I will ask mn to remove my post as I do not want to condone antisemitism.
