I saw something on tiktok today that said 'Carrie was to Big what Janice was to Chandler' 👀👀😬

I rewatch it all the time tbh, it's my fave show but now that Gen Z have found it, there are a lot of hot takes available online

What do people think of Carrie, now that 20 years have passed? Who's your fave? x

Hot take but Sam blowing the delivery guy was absolutely gross. Carrie should’ve kept her judgement to herself though considering how understanding Samantha was when she had an affair with married Big.

It's on Sky Mix every Saturday night from 10pm til just gone 12am! It's my Saturday night guilty pleasure! Last week included the one where Samantha finds grey pubes and dyes her bush! And it comes out bright orange!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I absolutely love it all! Easy watching that you take with a pinch of salt! I don't tend to sit dissecting it, that just spoils things for me. I just watch it for what it is!

I know someone who worked on the series and apparently SJP was nice and mixed with everyone . As well as being about the friendships it was also about NYC and the trends that started there which they got spot on . And oh the fashion ! Loved the SJP is not conventionally pretty but wore it all so well . Samantha had fabulous outfits too.

My fave was the last episode where Carrie and Big got together ( the dress !! ) but mostly the scene of Miranda gently bathing her dementia suffering MIL . Made me howl

I used to love that image of writing at your New York window watching life outside and wearing fabulous outfits and heels.

I went to live in New York and loved every minute and the only thing which resembled it was never cooking at home.

She was, is, and always will be a fashion icon.

I tried watching it a few times but found it incredibly fake and boring. Never understood the attraction and, especially, the obsession with the fashion taste of the S J-P character - seemed pretty awful to me.

I don’t understand the comparison to Janice and Chandler though- Chandler was AWFUL to Janice, often while they were dating. Big was a playboy but he was always very honest to Carrie about what he wanted, she just ignored that as she loved him. Chandler was horrible to Janice, in fact they all were, when her only crime seemed to be that she had an annoying laugh.

Very watchable but never really much liked any of them, and I could never figure out why they'd be friends? None of them seemed to have anything in common?

They all came across as rather feeble to me, like they'd squeal and cry if they saw a muddy puddle. And they spent all their time talking about shoes and boys, and bitching. And they were all so desperate, and flinging themselves at men who clearly weren't really that interested; if a guy keeps dating other women, refuses to admit you're his girlfriend or introduce you to his friends and family, and then marries someone else half his age (!), this is really not some romantic star-crossed lover affair - it's a pig of a man who really is not that into you! Not the sort of women I'd consider good role models tbh, or the sort of women I'd have any interest in befriending. And (final rant, sorry!) the whole show had Samantha as this sex-loving, equal rights, if-a-man-can-sleep-around-then-why-can't-a-woman character that I assumed was to show that females can actually enjoy sex, and don't always need cuddles and flowers - and then they have her break down and show that she was just psychologically damaged. So a woman who likes sex and doesn't demand commitment must have something seriously wrong with her? Very enlightened... Don't remember any of the blokes crying because their enjoyment of casual sex was actually just an expression of their trauma. But yeah, watched all the original series and films, and weirdly, would watch them again 😂

Not bothered with the latest iteration though.
