To think Purdy & Figg isn’t all it’s cracked up to be?

I have been tempted but haven’t ordered, mostly because it’s a subscription and I don’t want tied in if I don’t like it plus the cost is high for what seems to be small bottles of oil.
Is it any better than other cleaning products? Does the promised spa smell last or is it all a big marketing campaign that I have fallen for?

YABU - it’s amazing and I love it
YANBU - it’s a con, stick to the Zoflora

YANBU

All the adverts make me gag.

So cringey. But I think because I watched it they now show up in my algorithms.

fixingmylife · 10/01/2025 17:41

I was sucked in and bought some. The smell is nice but I don't really think it's a good enough cleaner. Also, the smell doesn't last. I wont be buying it again.

ChristmasPudd1990 · 10/01/2025 17:47

I was put off by the costs. I'll stick with my Method rhubarb or cream custard.

CanelliniBeans · 10/01/2025 17:51

I bought it and don't like it. It smeared everything I used it on

itsnotabouthepasta · 10/01/2025 17:56

I bought some. The smell is nice but doesn’t last. The bottle and the cloth are excellent quality though,

I forgot to cancel the sub and it renewed this week - for the same price I got just the bottles of oil, so it seems very expensive and I won’t be continuing.

Rocketpants50 · 10/01/2025 18:03

I got some, one was really lovely, used in my car thinking the smell would stay a bit - it didn't. It cleans OK though. The other one reminded me of the smell from childhood - a great aunts house, a bit musty. Prefer method.
The cloth though is brilliant and think this is the thing which actually does the cleaning!

LoafofSellotape · 10/01/2025 18:04

It's utter shite. Used it at a friend's house and was so glad I didn't get sicked in by the insta adverts. Smell lasts 2 minutes and doesn't clean.

Youtookmyhandle · 10/01/2025 18:07

I tried them all but couldn't find a smell that I liked. The scent doesn't last very long either.
Wasn't any better at cleaning than any other cleaner I've used.

lechatnoir · 10/01/2025 18:08

Thanks, you've just reminded me to cancel my subscription after trying on an offer. Nice bottle and cloth, but don't particularly like the scents and they don't last.

CeciliaMars · 10/01/2025 18:09

I tried it - it's literally just essential oils that you mix with water! It didn't clean well and it didn't even smell that strongly! An expensive gimmick.

You've reminded me I wanted to try the custard one! I'm using the lemon and ginger floor cleaner but it's not as strong as the rhubarb
I love the passion fruit shower spray

Artyblartfast · 10/01/2025 18:14

I've bought as a one off from Amazon and the one of Xmas scent from their site. It's a good cleaner in my opinion but I think it's not great on some surfaces. Smeary on mirrors and bath doesn't feel clean with it. I don't like all the accents either.

I like not having too much plastic use and that it's natural. But it's mixed bag and expensive.

dragonfliesandbees · 10/01/2025 18:17

I was tempted to try it until I saw that they claim it is chemical free. Their Dr Anna is supposedly a chemist and yet she has failed to inform them that everything is made of chemicals... Then I saw a bottle of it at my sister in law's house and she confirmed that it was crap! Doesn't clean well and the smell doesn't last.

Wibblywobblybobbly · 10/01/2025 18:19

I prefer Neat multi surface cleaner. You just buy a little bottle to mix with water and fill up the big spray bottle as and when needed. You don't need to subscribe and it's often on offer. Ocado have the refills on 3 for £6a
atm I like the mango and fig one.

TaylorNotSoSwift · 10/01/2025 18:23

Thanks! Looks like I will stick to what I know

Their advertising is far too full on, I was bombarded numerous times a day with their ads on various websites before Christmas, every other ad on YouTube was P&F (along with other websites I visited), it seems v. 'insta' but has little substance from what I have read...

Exactly the same here

LouisvilleSlugger · 10/01/2025 18:30

I’ve never tried it but I noted YANBU purely based on their obnoxious advertising.

Amba1998 · 10/01/2025 18:35

It stinks.

I hate it. But I like the glass bottles so got them and cancelled.

you’re not tied in

Nottodaythankyou123 · 10/01/2025 18:36

Agree with pp - it smells divine but I don’t find it lasts, the cleaner itself isn’t that great although I like the bottle and the cloths (can be bought on Amazon). It’s nice but not worth the money.

Fourfurrymonsters · 10/01/2025 18:37

I make my own general cleaner, if you’re interested in minimising waste. 1 part rubbing alcohol/99% isopropyl alcohol, 3 parts water, wee squeeze of washing up liquid and add essential or fragrance oils to fragrance, all decanted into very naice amber glass bottles. I like lemongrass and ginger, currently using mint and nectarine. It’s fabulous…antibacterial, antiseptic and suitable for all surfaces (I have quartz worktops so needed something non-acidic). And costs under a quid a bottle.

FerretChops · 10/01/2025 18:37

I buy it and am on my 4th lot now but I buy it on subscription with the special offer and then cancel. Rinse and repeat

Far too pricey to let it run on subscription.

I like it. The cloths are good and I like the bottles - a top tip is to tip in the little essential oil, fill it with water. Use about half and then top up with water. You can do this a couple of times and it still smells strong.

So although I like it enough I don't LOVE it. It's worth trying it on an offer and seeing what you think

Fetburzswefg · 10/01/2025 18:38

It smells lovely. I don’t think it cleans any better than anything else. It’s more environmentally friendly, which I really like.

I wouldn’t bother if the cost is a stretch, but if you can afford it comfortably it is a nicer / more environmentally sound product than normal sprays.

Kittiwakeup · 10/01/2025 18:49

I like it. The bottles are great and the cloths really good quality. I like the ground vetiver and the fragrance stays for a while after I have used it. Prefer it for kitchen than anywhere else.
