Reform UK neck and neck with Labour?

1000 replies

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 11:09

Absolutely shocked to read that in a poll Reform UK are neck and neck with Labour...

About 25% polling share for Reform and Labour.

I thought Blair was the worst PM ever, but Starmer seems to be giving him a run for his money.

The Foreign Office advise against travel to places like Pakistan and Afghanistan.

I'm shocked that people think there are no "no go" areas in the UK. Of course there are, there are areas where white people (especially women) aren't welcome.

It's time that people here woke up and smelled the coffee.

Where exactly are these no go areas in the UK?

Reform need to be banned immediately before they start to get political traction amongst the working class in the north of England.

This is all the fault of X, and I hope Keir Starmer and the Labour have a robust plan for sanctioning social media sites that allow disinformation free reign to be accessed by ordinary people who do not possess the ability to sift fact from fiction.

Frightening times.

Starmer was loathed long before Musk and X came on the scene. Something to do with his policies probably.

Kitte321 · 10/01/2025 21:03

wow. How depressing! This many people are against Labour that they are turning to Reform…that is pretty amazing work.
Politics world wide is in a complete mess

France have previously offered to set up detention centres and asylum seekers applications there. It was declined by the Tories. Maybe Farage means looking into this option? It would be my preferred one, and would avoid any asylum seekers setting foot in the UK, as applications would be offshore.

Setting up processing centres could encourage more people to come and wouldn't deter those rejected.

Farage is talking about push backs. That means taking boats back to France and dumping them.

Where exactly are these no go areas in the UK?

I live in Bradford, and have to drop off and pick up my son from work which is very near a no-go area. Whilst it might not be as common in some cities, there are many pockets in the UK where no-go areas exist. Fortunately people are starting to be heard here, and there have been increased police patrols in some areas, but it’s still a big problem unfortunately.

Sarcasm, no÷one could surely take it seriously Grin. No more hyperbolic than the rest of the rubbish posted on this thread.

Thank god. It’s hard to know given the extreme views in this thread. It’s the sort of things I would expect to hear at a BNP rally

I think it would discourage many from making the trip over to the UK in boats if their applications were refused before travelling over here, as many smuggled by boats are lied to by the gangs they pay, as they’re told their applications once here will likely be accepted.

If they're likely to be accepted here, they'll just skip the processing centre.

Why would we want to discourage people from seeking asylum in this country? It is our duty, as a wealthy and free nation, to offer shelter to people of the world fleeing war and oppression.

The RNLI or Royal Navy should be picking these people up themselves from the beaches of France, thus making the gangs entirely irrelevant.

Just to confirm to everyone. HappyPanda is a staunch Labour supporter.

Vote for Labour and you're supporting this viewpoint.

Oh please @NeatDog you do me a great disservice. I am more than a staunch Labour supporter, I am indeed rather fanatical in fact.

And yes, you are absolutely right. Vote Labour if you care about having a duty to the people of the world, and want to do everything within your power to end greed and suffering.

Thank you for your kind endorsement ♥️

8 million people in the UK are classed as being housed “inadequately”.
Where will you house all of these people that you want to pick up from French beaches?

For the record, I’m very pro-immigration. Skilled migrants who come through legal channels can add a huge amount to us in every way. And can be planned for with regards to scarce resources such as housing.

Uncontrolled illegal migration is just chaos.

I don't agree with everything she's said but I do agree that we have a moral duty to take our fair share of asylum seekers fleeing oppression, war and torture.

Really patronising to suggest that most Reform voters are populating the North. Most of the support is located in the midlands and South. And also to suggest that people from the North don’t ‘possess the ability to sift fact from fiction’. After all, Londoners voted in Khan as Mayor again last year. They could be forgiven the first time because they didn’t know him, but to vote him in a second time doesn’t exactly make them an intelligent bunch does it?

You can 100% see why white kids were getting raped in places like Rotherham.

Some people just don't want to see the issues and would rather turn a blind eye.

My impression was that the girls were not listened to because they were working class, not because they were white. I'm not saying that fear of racism was not a factor, but I don't think the girls being white had anything to do with it (as in the police and social workers would have been just as disinterested if the girls were Black working class, Asian working class, etc)

95% good old fashioned misogyny and classism, with just a sprinkling of woke on top.

My impression might be skewed by my own memories of high school. Those of us who went to high school in the 90s will probably have similar stories: 14 year old me persuaded my friend to tell our head of year about the family friend who was regularly abusing her, only to have it basically brushed under the carpet. Worse still, they used the fact she was known to have had consensual sexual contact with another student (which in itself was a trauma response) to suggest it was her poor life choices that had led her to this situation. She was from a rough family on a rough estate. I somehow knew even then that had I rocked up with the same story it would have been treated very differently. (Oh and if anyone has read this far you'll be happy to hear she is doing very well for herself and is living her best life. The man was later convicted of multiple sexual offenses against children)

For a leader of a minor party, Farage and his cronies get a huge amount if coverage, and very little of it looks in-depth at any policies. It’s easy to promise, when you don’t have to deliver - they have no answer to the simplest of questions about their keystone policy.. which is immigration. How would they reduce it ?

You will get people supporting you, when you tell them you have a magic plan, that will solve all their issues (when you don’t have one at alll)

You could literally write this post about Labour though. Opposition party is the easiest job in the world!

Houses. We need to build more houses. Houses for the young, houses for the needy, houses for the people seeking sanctuary from despotic regimes and climate disasters.

Houses, houses and more houses.

It is that simple.

Sorry, if you honestly don’t believe there are no-go areas in Bradford, nor have had experience of walking through them or hearing of them, then I don’t believe you live here. Unless you live in the more upmarket post codes (not many, but they do exist…)

So not one person is prepared to explain how denying there are areas in the uk where white people do not go for fear of personal safety and damage to their property aids community adhesion?

The preference is to call people who talk about these things racist or quibble over where these areas are?

You are responsible for fostering division not resolving it and you are so certain in your righteousness that you are complicit in harming communities.

Telling white people that we should turn a blind eye won’t end well for either migrants or Labour. It causes fear and racism.

The issue with your quote being that very few are fleeing war and oppression. And those that are could flee war by going to the first country of safety they arrive in to apply for asylum….

But there is nothing to resolve. There is nowhere in this country that is unsafe for you to go to if you are white person.

If they are receiving money from the taxpayer they are not illegal immigrants. Why do you not understand that?

In my town illegal immigrants are put up in a 4* hotel. They sit outside in the evenings smoking and vaping. Do you want a photo as evidence? You don't seem to be able to grasp that they are illegal immigrants. Where is this money coming from for cigarettes and vaping if not from the taxpayer? If they have their own money they should be made to pay their own accommodation bills.
