Reform UK neck and neck with Labour?

1000 replies

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 11:09

Absolutely shocked to read that in a poll Reform UK are neck and neck with Labour...

About 25% polling share for Reform and Labour.

I thought Blair was the worst PM ever, but Starmer seems to be giving him a run for his money.

There are some areas that lone female might avoid so not sure why it’s impossible

That’s always been the case and is nothing to do with immigration. It’s also not a ‘no go’ area.

EasternStandard · 10/01/2025 19:03

SoapySponge · 10/01/2025 18:59

True but it doesn't have to be called earlier unless:

(i) the Govt loses a confidence vote in the Commons, or
(ii) the PM decides to go to the country before that date, or
(iii) the King sacks him (which hasn't happened in the UK since 1834).

Reform and similar guttersnipes squealing their little heads off makes no difference one way or the other.

Nice insults as per

There’s still a way to go and some will be for Labour no matter what, but they’ve caused issues which will impact public spending so if you’re in the public sector or relying on the state things could look different

Then job losses from private sector going down if it continues

SoapySponge · 10/01/2025 19:04

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 19:01

Yeah, awesome argument.

Nasty Reform UK sticking up for Brits. Shocking.

If you think Reform are "sticking up for Brits" you are even more deluded than I thought.

They spout crap designed to lure in the stupid and the gullible (and I must admit they are very good at it).

I have scraped better things than Reform supporters off the sole of my shoe.

Why not? Seems apt for those who avoid it due to higher risk

There have always been places in cities where you have to have your wits about you. That’s not what is being implied here.

You have to be fucking stupid to go to the area I'm talking about. It's not racist it's safety.

But go ahead and minimise.

I've said it isn't Labour's fault, lack of police due to Tory cuts are probably the main cause but it is an issue. One that is now apparently a right wing trope.

This is what makes me sick. We can't name genuine problems without being called racist and xeonophobes.

Utterly ridiculous.

Some Brits. As I said previously, he is very open that he believes working mothers are worth less than working men and thinks maternity leave is too generous, and others have pointed out other groups he isn't fond of earlier in the thread. I know many people believe the man of the people show, but he quite clearly isn't.

Wales hold their senedd election next year. That will give us an idea of how the parties are doing.

It's too soon to be taking any notice of polls

There are issues in Wales which are different from those 8n the rest of the U.K. I would t read too much into it.

Your post makes no sense.
You think some other party could do better?
The Tories - look what they achieved over the last 14 years?
Reform? Don't make me laugh.
As for relying on the State as a 70 year old pensioner, I do.

A no go area means nobody who isn’t from the area, including police, can go there without bad things happening. Cities have always had rougher areas where you might not choose to go alone. It’s not a no go area, and it’s not to do with immigration

It’s not naming it. It’s implying there are places white peiple aren’t allowed to go because they are white. That’s different from a rough area you might prefer not to go to. But you know this.

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 19:09

If a British woman went to Afghanistan/ Somalia/ Pakistan etc she would likely get raped and killed.

These cultures consider western woman as being prostitutes.

Why would immigrants from these countries not bring their believe system with them?

We've all seen the news from the last week where white kids have been raped by immigrants of a Pakistani background.

HappyPanda613 · 10/01/2025 19:09

There aren’t any ‘No-Go’ areas in the UK. In fact, the UK is the safest it’s ever been for all people, which suggests that migrants in general are much more law abiding and safer to be around than established white folk.

So if you want a safer Britain, deport the Reform voter base!

SoapySponge · 10/01/2025 19:10

Always remember when talking to a Reform supporter "you cannot argue with stupid".

Divots every single one of them.

It is multifactored. Immigration is part of the problem as well as the lack of policing.

The area I'm talking about is a very interesting case in point as the immigrant demographic has changed dramatically in recent years.

But ardent Labour supporters like to brush facts aside. Not interested in actually exploring the complexities or what is actually happening to make communities change.

Much easier to call people right wing.

Fucking ridiculous.

Ladyonaplane · 10/01/2025 19:11

Reform are seen as last and or only hope.

It's hardly surprising

Eh? Do you really think any white woman in those countries would be raped? I would t go to Afghanistan currently, but not because of the risk of rape. You really have no clue. I know a fair few people born/brought up in Somalia and Pakistan. They don't hold the view you suggest at all.
Edit: seen in the last week? It’s been in the public domain for a decade. And it’s still not all Pakistani men.

True. It's astounding how many people think Farage is one of us regular folks because he has a pint down the pub... conveniently when someone is there to photograph him. He absolutely has it in for the working classes and doesn't really hide it but people still fawn over him.

Apart from you, we all know "refugees" and "asylum seekers" get free money from the British taxpayer.

We've had to put up the pension ages because we don't have enough money. The Winter Fuel Allowance has been scrapped. Plenty money to put refugees up in hotels though.

Finally people are waking up to the facts and the truth.
This mess was started by Tony Blair. Everything that is wrong with low quality immigration today is on him. Low wages topped up with benefits. He also negotiated with and let well known terrorists in. The Tories did not have the guts to stand to this and now we are back to someone who doesn’t care about the progress of the country. Belongs to the Fabian Society and is a human rights lawyer not a politician so good luck!

@ would you mind enlightening me what disinformation you are referring to?

I've already answered upthread. The copious amounts of disinformation being spread, including on this thread, about Starmer.

I'm assuming that given your use of the word 'enlightening' that you haven't just been living in a box for the past week but instead are asking in bad faith.

Of course it makes sense. You may have missed Labour’s impact on the private sector which is contracting and cost of borrowing which is rising

Plus discussion on public sector cuts

It’s all accessible rn and current if you read general news

You know someone who had a course there? Well the. You must be an expert I used to live nearby. I have lots of friends still living there. Utter nonsense. Your friend may have been chased. It’s not because of a no go area.

My ex and his entire family are from Birmingham and live there and the surrounding areas, none of them ever had any issues. Likewise DP who has been a couple of times for work.
Just because someone knows someone who had an issue, doesn't make everyone else delusional.
