Reform UK neck and neck with Labour?

1000 replies

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 11:09

Absolutely shocked to read that in a poll Reform UK are neck and neck with Labour...

About 25% polling share for Reform and Labour.

I thought Blair was the worst PM ever, but Starmer seems to be giving him a run for his money.

We don’t, British people are lazy. The only reason Britain even had an empire in the first place is because it was built on the backs of hard work by indentured servitude carried out by people from other countries.

People are cutting their noses off to spite their face by wanting immigration reduced. If they got what they wanted we’d be back to living in straw huts and throwing witches into lakes within a decade.

Do you work in a care home or as a cleaner?

cardibach · 10/01/2025 19:15

lifeturnsonadime · 10/01/2025 19:10

It is multifactored. Immigration is part of the problem as well as the lack of policing.

The area I'm talking about is a very interesting case in point as the immigrant demographic has changed dramatically in recent years.

But ardent Labour supporters like to brush facts aside. Not interested in actually exploring the complexities or what is actually happening to make communities change.

Much easier to call people right wing.

Fucking ridiculous.

Name. The. Fucking. Area.
Everything else is nonsense. Name it, and if I google and find people have been told not to go there, police won’t go there, the council won’t go there (refuse collection? Road repairs.) I’ll apologise.

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 19:15

cardibach · 10/01/2025 19:11

Eh? Do you really think any white woman in those countries would be raped? I would t go to Afghanistan currently, but not because of the risk of rape. You really have no clue. I know a fair few people born/brought up in Somalia and Pakistan. They don't hold the view you suggest at all.
Edit: seen in the last week? It’s been in the public domain for a decade. And it’s still not all Pakistani men.

Edited

A colleague went to Pakistan for a holiday. The police gave him an armed guard that was constantly with him.

Anyway, one minute we've to give asylum to people from these countries because they are so violent. The next minute these countries are nice peaceful place safe for Western woman.

It's like facts change to support whichever viewpoint being expressed by the woke...

Someone on holiday had an armed guard? Nonsense.

lifeturnsonadime · 10/01/2025 19:18

One final post because I've got things to do.

What I really don't get is the refusal to acknowledge issues. How does anyone think this will assist community adhesion? How does anyone think this will help migrant communities to integrate?

Calling people right wing for saying that there are areas that white people don't go any more for fear of the safety of their person and property, and there is no policing (probably due to cuts) isn't going to help communities unite.

Acknowledging an issue an exploring the reasons that there are massive changes in areas is far more conducive to eventually having communities get on and find common grounding.

This is the same with the Rotherham and other areas. The denial of issue causes more hate not less.

It's so fucking short sighted. Sigh.

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 19:19

cardibach · 10/01/2025 19:17

I think he was stupid going to Pakistan for a holiday. But he did and the local police gave him a police man to accompany him.

There aren’t any ‘No-Go’ areas in the UK. In fact, the UK is the safest it’s ever been for all people, which suggests that migrants in general are much more law abiding and safer to be around than established white folk.

So if you want a safer Britain, deport the Reform voter base!

Is this what they called disinformation? People are being robbed of their possessions on plain day light and teens knifed on their way home and this person comments is so safe. London is the knife capital of the world. We are dinner conversation abroad because of the gangs of thugs and criminals ruling our streets. Stop the bullshit and gaslighting.

I don't know if the council do or don't collect. Judging by the fly tipping I think it's possible that they don't.

But it may be that you are using a different definition of no-go area to me.

But tell me does ignoring major problems in communities which has caused white people to avoid them because they risk personal safety and damage to their property and calling people who point them out racist / right wing / xenophobe, help migrants to integrate or does it increase tensions?

Doesn't take a fucking genius to work it out.

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 19:09

If a British woman went to Afghanistan/ Somalia/ Pakistan etc she would likely get raped and killed.

These cultures consider western woman as being prostitutes.

Why would immigrants from these countries not bring their believe system with them?

We've all seen the news from the last week where white kids have been raped by immigrants of a Pakistani background.

It’s not news from last week. It was first covered in 2012.

I think so given the knife crime. Including the awful report recently for a 14 year old

Another day, another thread criticising Labour (yet remained quiet when Tory's governed).

Another day, another thread complaining about foreigners, and the working class.

Another day.
Another thread.

Isn't it relentless

And exhausting

Personally, I think vat on private schools, farmers paying IHT and keeping the WFA for those on benefits are all welcome policies.

Labour have a hard job ahead and it will take time to turn things around

You can 100% see why white kids were getting raped in places like Rotherham.

Some people just don't want to see the issues and would rather turn a blind eye.

You are being fed misleading information from various social networks. Gangs are hugely diminished compared to what they used to be and knife crime is very, very rare. London is one of the safest places in the world and people who live there call it one of the best cities in the world.

I think you need to spend a little time outside and not glued to the algorithm.

dottiehens · 10/01/2025 19:26

Btw I have my own no go areas by choice now. It could be Knightsbridge or Oxford Street or Shephers Bush or East End. All perfectly fine to go before Sadiq Khan.

Probably because none of those policies impact you and it is always easier to spend other people's money.
They are policies which tinker around the edges, bring only tiny amounts in but disproportionately hit the ones bearing the brunt of them ie they aren't economically sound.

Don’t think any of those have said anything untrue

All three have taken numerous quotes out of context at the very least - I remember fact checking their various quotes on previous threads several years ago.

Then there's the video montage they shared of Nigel Farage and Norway - which included a ridiculously edited clip of an interview Farage gave to Andrew Marr in November 2015 (implying Farage wanted the Norway option) - what Farage actually said in the interview was; 'Norway's deal was good for Norway, but not for the UK' and where he answered (to a direct question from Marr) that he 'didn't want to be in the single market, but wanted access to the single market like China'. Other clips in the montage were similarly disingenuously edited or taken from 2012/2014, not 2015/2016.

dingledangledoos · 10/01/2025 16:01

@caringcarer this article explains it all. What's particularly interesting is that while still in the EU the UK did have a system of sending asylum seekers back to other EU states that they'd travelled through. Brexit brought an end to that. Nice own goal for Farage and his cronies.

freemovement.org.uk/are-refugees-obliged-to-claim-asylum-in-the-first-safe-country-they-reach/

Reform plan to take us out of the ECHR and adopt most of the same policies but not the one about allowing illegal immigrants in. Once out we can't be forced to house them.

There was a documentary recently that went into the story of someone who faked an accusation of grooming from these alleged grooming gangs. You have to pay attention not to get riled up by the posting of nefarious sources on the likes of X, because they might not be true. You could be getting played by Russian saboteurs.

No go area means nobody goes there. You said that police and the council agreed. You could have named it until you declared you lived there. There, or nearby? How near?

Knife Crime is very very rare.

What planet are you on?

London has a population of about 7 million and is ever growing. So yes, knife crime is rare, comparatively.

You will never eliminate crime completely unfortunately. It’s just part and parcel of living in a society.
