Reform UK neck and neck with Labour?

1000 replies

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 11:09

Absolutely shocked to read that in a poll Reform UK are neck and neck with Labour...

About 25% polling share for Reform and Labour.

I thought Blair was the worst PM ever, but Starmer seems to be giving him a run for his money.

There's a massive disinformation campaign going on. I've never seen such a massive slide towards taking quotes completely out of context, or not taking anything IN context. This alongside the press who have done a fantastic job of convincing people that things that would have been sort of middling unpopular in any other climate are a TOTAL DISASTER and STARMERS INSANE and wants GRANNIES TO DIE. Comparing the 'slip ups' of the current government to what the Tories managed to achieve shows a massive gap in terms of severity, but they don't want you to do that, they don't want you to compare the thousands dead because of the Tory government cocking up our covid response to things like changes to the winter fuel payment for pensioners. So they don't report it that way. And people bloody believe it! (The same people who will say 'I educated myself, I'm not a sheeple - i follow random discredited doctors on YouTube who say that the vaccine was to introduce mind control')

Yes absolutely this!

Yes I saw this coming on X pretty much as soon as Labour got in.

You can tell reform posters as they all use those stupid made up names for Labour and Kier Starmer. They used similar silly names during Brexit (eg Remoaners) and Covid (plandemic).

It's so cringey!

Are you usually this riled up by rich blokes with an agenda? You want to have another election because Musk said so. There's an awful lot of hyperbole circulating at the moment. Get some fresh air.

That’s quite a big jump from what I actually said. Please get some help for your raging liberal hate for anyone that doesn’t agree with you.

Again with the hyperbole. It's very interesting. People on this thread keep saying they're 'terrified'. I'm being accused of 'raging hate' for advising someone to get some fresh air.

I can only imagine it comes from being in an echo chamber where people are making more and more extreme claims.

So finally we can stop pretending the UK is not a racist country!

What a stupid thing to say. The UK is not a racist country.
Have you visited many countries? Have you been to central Europe, heck Europe even? the Middle-East? The Far East? North Africa? Any America? Actually don't bother answering, your assertion says enough.

PandoraSox · 10/01/2025 18:21

If it is the Elon effect, perhaps it’s because he’s telling the truth about the Labour Party?

Which truth is that @thepurplepig ?

You've not come across Led By Donkeys then, or posters such as Femi Oluwole and Alex Andreou on X?

This country must call a GE before 15 August 2029. We won’t have a country that we recognise by then.

I sincerely hope so. After 14 years of it being sucked dry I certainly don’t recognise it as the one I grew up in now.

SlapTheMelon · 10/01/2025 18:29

I've lived here for almost 20 years. I've experienced ignorance but not racism. In fact, people seem to be so careful with words around minority like me.

A.k.a challenging misinformation, perhaps?

As Labour posters do for 30p Lee, Cruella and one I saw posted today for Badenoch

Some Labour posters. I never do it for politicians of any colour. It trivialises important issues and robs the poster of credibility.

One poster is bat shit crazy wanting to ban everyone who doesn't agree with them. They sound as bat shit as the ones spouting lies and misinformation as though it's fact

The amount of hyperbole and bollocks on this thread is laughable.

I'm not naming places as it is outing.

It's not to do with accents or skin colour, it's back to the problems that Starmer won't address and calls women right wing for even raising them.

If you are fortunate enough to live in an area free from places like this then you won't know what I'm talking about.

How is naming a place outing? Nobody knows if you live near it even.

BurntBroccoli · 10/01/2025 18:43

@BIossomtoes
Yes it does. As soon as I hear one of the daft words I can't take the post seriously.
Reform voters seem do this in every single post.

I post over several threads, there is other personal information about me & my children on other threads, that along with location would definitely make me recognisable to people who know me.

I also don't owe information about my location to anyone.

These places exist.

I was down in Cornwall over the new year. After a few days it occurred to me that I hadn't seen a single non white person in more than 3 days.

If you live somewhere like that it is easy to see how you can't imagine areas such as the one I have described exist.

It's not just the way the Asian men treat women, it is the level of crime and vandalisation of property and cars. People just don't risk going down this particular high street any more because of the real risk of harm.

It is a shame because this is a recent change. The area used to be popular for it's restaurants.

I am not blaming Labour for this change. The lack of policing (cuts in police numbers was a Tory thing) is a real issue in areas like this.

Don’t think any of those have said anything untrue, unless you have info I don’t. Calling Jess Phillips a rape genocide apologist, on the other hand…

SoapySponge · 10/01/2025 18:47

Blair was an excellent PM. One of the finest of my lifetime and I go back to the days of Anthony Eden.

Anyway who cares? It's not an election year.

Reform are the natural consequence of the failures of both main parties. If they didn't create such a void then something else was going to meet demand in the electorate

Reform are a bunch of vermin.

I’ve taught in Birmingham and now live in a very multicultural area. Don’t feel threatened.
Naming an area which is no go isn’t outing as you aren’t saying it’s where you live. What it is though, is impossible, because there aren’t any.

Well good for you.

You don't speak for everyone or every area.

I don't owe an explanation of where I live as a I don't wish to be identified.

In a way it is a shame because if you googled the name of the particular place you will see that even the police and local council think there is a serious issue and that it is deemed a no-go area.
