To think that Musk is now overstepping himself and the UK gvt should threaten action

Musk has just posted this on twitter (among other unhinged tweets). To me this reads as a thinly veiled threat to democratically elected UK MPs and actually the UK government should consider sanctions to the US if he continues this attack when he enters the White House?

Well , everyone has a right to their opinion. I don’t think I’m naive but maybe I’m wrong as I’m taking it at face value. As for UK politics maybe we do need an intervention…

Did you seriously type that? Of all the disgusting things I’ve seen here that’s right up there. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Yes, absolutely morally repugnant.

How could a bill be squashed when there was a government with a huge majority in 2021? Johnson’s government would have got anything he wanted through parliament at that point.

Quite right, Blossom; Johnson and his fellow travellers could certainly have got through almost anything they wanted

However they'd need to have actually wanted it, and for vacillating politicians there's a merit in introducing a bill to be "seen to be doing something about it" and then quietly shelving it when the headlines have moved on

@RingoJuice and @yohohoCrimbo the defence lawyers are not morally bankrupt, they are there to provide defence for the defendant. That is their legal duty. I don't suppose they take any joy whatsoever in defending such dreadful people but our legal system ensures that we all have the right to defence and a fair trial.

But to actively encourage them to renounce their Pakistani citizenship??

There’s no proof of that.

Every single criminal that is found guilty should be deported if they were not born in the country. At the start of their sentence not the end. And be barred from ever entering again.

If countries don't want their criminals back, then all citizen immigration from that country ceases until a deal to take them back is made and signed.

This isn't difficult.

The USA has refused to take back people we have tried to deport, as has Canada...

Then there are countries that denounce citizenship from people they don't want.

Would you be happy for say a murderer not serve their sentence, be deported and then released after 3 years in his home country?

What about countries where have no travel arrangements?

How would our Uni's function without Chinese or Indian students?

There were hundreds of posts implying just that.

Stop your nonsense. You don't have the moral high ground here.

You don't get to tell me what i can and cannot do.

Though that is the way of the rightwing, always has been, burning books, executing anyone capable of challenge, its what you do, just as right wing followers tend to be of a lower educational standard.

@BIossomtoes I read this in the link someone posted up thread. Metro?

It said that they had Pakistani citizenship which, on the advice of their legal team, they renounced and are now stateless. Since the Home Office has deported them, but they are now without citizenship in Pakistan, there is nowhere for them to go. These are men that didn't even serve half their sentences and have pleaded their right to stay in the UK to be fucking role models for their children.

Maybe because it's got FUCK ALL to do with the racist, shit-stirring wanker?

🤔

She might be if enough hate is stirred up against her. Remember Jo Cox and listen to Phillips’ election night speech.

Yes, let's all go and watch the footage of her election speech. That's a very good idea.

He is promoting himself and his agenda as an internet troll for lolz. He doesn’t care about the voices of the victims who support Jess Phillips and what she stands for or the head of the existing independent inquiry Alexis Jay
who stated we will have inquiry paralysis and waste time and it would be better to implement the recommendations of the existing enquiry. He does not speak for the victims who are broadly supportive of what the government is doing.

Musk and his friend Trump are both implicated in sexual abuse. He does not care for the little people, only to further his own aims which are little more than stirring the pot and allowing people to run around clearing up his mess.

Bringing awareness

through his personal media platform that currently has no accountability.

I’ve no idea why this man is held in such high regard. $$$$ doesn’t equal IQ points. The man was born with a silver spoon and had the opportunity to buy his way into companies that were successful with no input from him. In another universe he’d be lucky to keep a normal salaried position given his personality.

Fair enough but alongside it, he is bringing hate and division, followed by the populists here, like Jenrick and Farage.

He wouldn't have courted such a response if he'd kept his comments to CSA and not personalised it...

It is if you haven’t seen it. You might discover the horrific bullying that female MPs are subjected to. And not just those from the party you dislike, Anna Soubrey was put through hell.

That is truly vile, unscrupulous behavior. They should be treated like Shamima Begum tbh

This is the answer.

He's like a petulant toddler. And all the new Mumsnet fanboys and girls will have to look elsewhere to peddle their filth

To be fair it's not his "fan girls and boys" starting multiple threads about him, its his haters providing them with a platform to defend him.

If it wasn't for MN I wouldn't have a clue what he was saying because I don't usually seek out the opinions of random billionaires.

It's disappointing you can't understand that, fundamentally, the UK has NOTHING to do with Musk.

In the same way it has NOTHING to do with 'Dave from Kansas' who also spends all day bashing out hate posts on X.

He's utterly irrelevant. No one should be giving him any airtime whatsoever; yet here we are with simpletons fawning over the vile twat for no reason other than him being extremely wealthy.

Just think about what you're actually doing when you support this type of destructive interference, rather than complaining when others point out the blindingly obvious.
