To think Elon Musk has gone nuts

What on earth is going on with him. Calling for Nagel Farage to resign. Now wanting the PM to resign amd said we have a tyrannical government. It's all a bit odd.

What has he done that is so great? For instance, what exactly has he done in concrete terms to help the victims of rape and child abuse?

Another thought. For the moment, Musk has the ear of the next President. He lives in a country where children are regularly being shot and maimed because of the easy availability of guns. A decent man would use his influence to do something about that. Is Musk doing anything at all to help those children?

cardibach · 07/01/2025 12:14

FennelPotion · 07/01/2025 12:07

Well, what he should have said, and made clear, is that the abuse scandal and any associated inquiry should be completely free of politicking and point-scoring. All children in our communities deserve to grow up and be educated without being exploited, violated, raped, or murdered regardless of who the perpetrators or victims are.

Keir should have supported an inquiry that is entirely agnostic to party politics and conducted by independent experts who are carefully vetted and supervised.

As a human rights lawyer, he knows that these girls' human rights have been and continue to be violated.

When it comes to trafficking and grooming gangs, children's human rights are violated in multiple, devastating ways. These violations go beyond just the right to education and can affect nearly every aspect of their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

A human rights lawyer come Prime Minister who wilfully turns a blind eye to the violation of British children's human rights and who encourages others to do the same is not really fit to be PM.

He did. He talked about the legal situation and his record. He said the recommendations of the independent report should be enacted. Did you even listen?

This would have demonstrated political skill, compassion, decency, and true leadership. Instead, what he did was actively and publicly engage in politicking and point-scoring in a manner that was not only misguided but utterly reckless—failing to grasp that by doing so, he played right into the hands of those with far-right agendas.

What a muppet, it would be funny if it wasn't so damn useless and dangerous.

Keir has just shown the whole world that he has no integrity (especially considering is background as a human rights allayer) and that he cannot keep a cool head be lead effectively.

Oh dear.

Just as well the Labour Party released a promo video with some of the most disgusting violent and misogynist lyrics ever.

Again, oh dear.

He's accusing the 'far right', whoever that encompasses. Generally that means anyone who supports the Tories or Reform. So quite a lot of people.

No. You seem to have an issue with comprehension. And here’s me think8ng he was admirably clear and direct. Can’t account for wilful misinterpretation though, I guess.
Do you think ‘far right’ encompasses Tory and Reform and all their supporters? Because that wasn’t stated, so I’m not sure how else you would arrive at that understanding.

That's not all he did is it? He also said that people campaigning for an independent review and investigation are aligning with the far right.

No amount of pro labour bots, posters and whatever can change it, he has truly fucked up.
Shameful.

Questions -

What is free speech in Britain?

When does it become hate speech, and who decides.

What yardsticks are used to fine/imprison individuals if their words are considered hate speech.

Honestly I'm baffled.

No, that’s not what he said.
What he did say about independent inquiry (and what’s been said repeatedly on here) is that there has already been one and he will be enacting the recommendations of it. As someone so well informed about the issue I’m very surprised you aren’t aware that there has been an independent, nationwide enquiry which reported in 2022.

Good thing we haven’t got a PM like that then, isn’t it?

Well, we do 😂

Keir played right into the dangerous and dumb divisive politics with his "far right" comment.

Useless. As a PM her added fuel to the fire instead of deescalating the narrative.

😬🙄

You seem to have completely failed to understand who he was referring to when he mentioned the far right.
Have you read the IICSA report and recommendations yet? Do you think they will be helpful?

Oh I know about that, trying to undermine my very reasonable points by inventing I don't know about it is basic. We see Keir.

he has shown his true colours for all to see.

Never mind the PR efforts 😂

Immature rhetoric!!! Surely you can do better?? Or maybe not. Judging by the violent soundtrack Labour headquarters felt was appropriate for an official party promo... maybe they can't do better.

You should definitely add, 'IMO' to your posts, you do realise that just as you are free to spout your "views', you are certainly not free to force others to think the same way.

Are you living in some kind of alternative reality where this makes sense.

Where did I do that?
So you’ve read the IICSA report and its recommendations then? Makes it odd that you are calling for an inquiry if you know there’s been one. Did you ‘see’ the last government when they refused to implement them? Which do you think would be most effective? Are there any you disagree with?

People saying ‘oh we should just ignore Musk’ are so fucking stupid it beggars belief. The President he significantly helped re-elect went on about stolen, fraudulent elections and sparked an insurrection where people were killed (and now wants to pardon those involved).

Musk is tweeting to the world that the U.K. government is tyrannical and corrupt, that the Prime Minister is complicit in mass child rape and the cover-up of child rape. He is tweeting ‘Free Tommy Robinson’ and circulating Robinson’s disinformation film to millions. He’s saying, incorrectly, that Robinson is in prison for telling the truth about child rape gangs, and that he is in prison as part of a government cover-up to protect Starmer.

We had riots last summer. Terrible riots, where shops were looted, property destroyed, people were injured and mobs tried to kill refugees.

What the fuck do the ‘let’s just pat him on the head’ crowd think is going to happen when Robinson is released? Where all this is headed?

I’m assuming that was aimed at me although you chose not to tag me, just lift quotes.

I can assure you, I’m far from “fucking stupid” (is this standard language you use when people disagree with you?)

What I, and several other posters, have pointed out, is all this anger against Musk is playing into his hands and giving him what he wants. He doesn’t care what you think of him, arguing about what he has said just makes him more relevant. The more outraged people get means he is more likely to keep winding people up to escalate the response. I posted something upthread about why neurodivergent people start arguments, if you care about some of the science take a look.

What we need to understand is why people feel the way they do about the things Musk is talking about.

We need to listen to those who are being adversely affected by immigration and acting on those concerns. Everytime someone raises a concern they’re shouted down with cries of “you’re racist” “you’re stupid” etc. usually by people who clearly aren’t impacted by immigration at all. We lived in a great area and were suddenly affected by mass immigration and movement into the area by second generation immigrants. Living there changed beyond all recognition, it started to affect my DS mental health. Crime went through the roof, I was scared to let my son out. There were targeted attacks always on white kids by members of other communities.

We were lucky to be able to move away. But some people aren’t, they see their kids school focusing all their resources on kids who can’t speak English, the streets are less safe esp for girls and women who are often heckled on the streets. The child rape gangs are still active in certain areas. People can’t heat their homes/eat but immigrants are in a warm hotel being fed. People feel unfairly treated in their own country and perceive those coming in to be receiving better treatment and astronomical amounts being spent.

The government and parts of society are ignoring these people and when their frustration boils over demonising them. What do you think happens when someone comes a long and listens to them?

Instead of dismissing them and demonising them, calling them names, we need to start listening to their lived experiences and address their concerns. It’s this dismissal of people’s concerns that’s feeding the Tommy Robinson’s of this world.

People just aren’t getting it, they think everyone’s experiences are like their own. These are the people responsible for the riots, the disenfranchisement of vast numbers of IK citizens, people need to close their mounts and open their ears a bit more.

That’s a mix of stuff that does need looking at and stuff that’s misinformation. I agree we need to look at issues of deprivation and the housing situation, at the widening gap between rich and poor and so on. Funnily enough, lots of Labour’s manifesto, King’s Speech and budget are aimed at that. The problems you describe arose under the 14 years of Tory government, so why the vitriol at Labour and Starmer?
