What on earth is going on with him. Calling for Nagel Farage to resign. Now wanting the PM to resign amd said we have a tyrannical government. It's all a bit odd.

Well, yes, the FBI had sources trying to infiltrate the Proud Boys (and informants among their membership) for information gathering, because, well, that's what undercover law enforcement does.

Editing to add: you do understand the difference between informants and agents, right? Even the NYPost article (and they're about as reliable as Tucker Carlson) makes clear that we're talking about informants, not FBI agents.

Well Elon Musk, it would seem, has just been elected to be the leader of the “most powerful country on earth”

And he’s calling for a change in government, and a change in opposition leadership too in this country. He’s already told us he’d like civil war here.

Calm down. He can call for it all he wants, really, it’s the drama and he is feeding off the ammunition our political class on all sides are providing..

I cannot see two massive egos in Trump and Musk seeing eye-to-eye for long.

Pistols at dawn.

They were not FBI agents. They were informants. As in, actual Proud Boys (or similar) who give tips and information to the FBI.

Do you understand the difference?

Hmm, you haven’t mentioned the members of the CIA who had infiltrated the crowd 😉

There were some undercover informants there who were warning against the attack.
That's what undercover informants do.. you know stay undercover...
You're really reaching here.

I'm not arguing that the FBI under the leadership of Trump's hand-picked director did a particularly good job in anticipating and preventing the riot. They were clearly caught unaware by the seriousness of the situation, which they should not have been. But to imply that they, as opposed to the violent rioters, were responsible is a bit beyond the realm of intelligent thought.

(and it's 'would have' and 'could have')

No!! Elon Musk hasn’t gone Mad! What he is doing is garnering Likes etc to his Social Media. So then he can say he has a right to pontificate on the Worlds angst & other perceived wrongs. This gives him a platform that gathers others, usually of Extremist Views to cause Instability & Unrest. I am amazed that Certain World Leaders are Complicit in this, but then again not surprised, because it serves their purpose. Also how many times has he changed direction? Expressed one thing then harangued about a completely different opposing view? Please be careful People that you too are not sucked into The Musk Alternative Universe!! There Lies MADNESS!!!!

PeppyGreenFinch · 07/01/2025 00:24

The British Police need to ban Musk from the UK for hate speech. There have been threats made against Jess Phillips. And he’s just tweeted to agree with someone saying ‘She deserves everything coming to her’.

To think Elon Musk has gone nuts

So they fucked up so what? It has already been proven that their was a lot of confusion with regards to the National Guard. Trump could have invoked them but of course he didn't.
Are you seriously suggesting that these riots where the fault of the FBI and not Trump?

Or Trump could have not incited a riot in the first place?

The same guy who sent a threatening letter to Martin Luther King?
And to get back to Elon Musk. That is exactly the kind of rhetoric he supports. Apart from supporting a president who wants to annex Canada or parties that have literal neonazis as their representatives.
I think the UK should be very wary he is dangerous. And I don't think Bill Gates ever supported those ideas.

Under the law inciting a riot can be a criminal offence.
There wa a reason for the impeachment trial. He was just lucky that the Republicans are a spineless buch.

Tomatotater · 06/01/2025 19:43

He's also suing loads of advertisers for pulling out of Twitter after he told them to fuck off.
If he gave a damn about rape or child grooming he would be working with his fellow billionnaire tech bros and work with governments to stop it happening on their platforms. Except he and them couldn't care less.

Exactly!
Pornograpy and exploitative material of the most serious gruesome and horrific types has exploded since the internet made it so easily available internationally.
That influence is really damaging our society in so many ways . But that’s how the Billionaires make their money and how some spend it (Epstein et al) .
He could start the necessary regulation if he wanted to .

Iloveyoubut · 07/01/2025 00:46

I think there’s a meme going round right now with a picture of him and Trump and it’s referring to Trump as Vice President Trump so I think, yes, he’s out of control at the moment.

I'm not sure you really understand the playing field?

Informants are not under the control of the FBI. They are people who either are paid or voluntarily pass inside information along. Mostly, in this instance, they were members of white supremacist organisations or militias, so not exactly choir boys. There were somewhere around 25 of them present at the Capitol that day. Should the FBI have done a better job? Yes. But, frankly, under Trump's hand-picked director, Christopher Wray, they did a pretty crap job at quite a few things, such as the half-assed investigation of Brett Kavanaugh.

Is the riot the FBI's fault, or were they complicit? That's a joke. The one who could have stopped it in a split second is Donald Trump.

And there were inquiries into that so nobody was focusing solely on Trump.
But he did incite the riots that's a fact. And a former president not recognizing a lawful election is way more worrying.
But it seems you can buy yourself into the government anyway so it really doesn't matter anyway.

There are phone calls of Nancy pelosi turning down National Guard help.
Trump offered her NG - she refused.
