To think BBC news is lost to us now - bloody Farage on this morning

Why is he being platformed yet again to repeat the surely libellous and undoubtedly inflammatory language about KS and JP spouting from Elon Musk. Saying it's free speech?! Just irresponsible and vile. Even the way he refers to the PM as Starmer is just so rude and disrespectful.

I'm a massive supporter of the BBC and the licence fee but the news branch has clearly been infested with Tory supporters in high places and it's just not what it was now.

It's reputation and standing is being shredded😓.

Jess Philips. She is a junior minister in the Home Office, but fairly prominent Labour MP. Musk called for her to be locked up, because back in October her department/ team asked Oldham to set up an independent enquiry - in exactly the same way as other councils have - to look into the handling of victims of grooming gangs and what could have been done to stop these horrific crimes earlier.

You don't need to tell us who she is just what the initials stand for. I think people are talking to themselves on this ridiculous thread. Jess Philips is no friend to women.

@Ablondiebutagoody - in a nutshell - He has called for Starmer and his safeguarding minister to be removed from power, for new elections to take place, and even for King Charles III to unilaterally dissolve parliament – something which hasn’t happened for nearly two centuries and would cause a constitutional crisis.
He went further with Jess Phillips & said she should be jailed.

Hardly an incitement to violence though is it?

luckylavender · 05/01/2025 19:59

@Valeriekat - we obviously have different standards. It's not that long since the summer riots.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 05/01/2025 22:21

What is ridiculous is the idea that we are even debating what Musk thinks . He isn't from here and doesn't live here. It's none of his business.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 05/01/2025 22:22

And when even Farage is distancing himself, you know you're dealing with a very, very politically dodgy character.

@Valeriekat - we obviously have different standards. It's not that long since the summer riots.

So any difference of opinion as far as you are concerned is an incitement to violence?
Quite a stretch to blame the summers' violence on Farage!

luckylavender · 06/01/2025 06:28

@Valeriekat - I'm hardly the only one. Words have consequences.

So why hasn’t he been prosecuted, if that’s the case.

Almn0etd · 06/01/2025 07:20

Why wasn’t he prosecuted then? Of does left wing media now count as proxy for the law?

CheshireCat1 · 06/01/2025 08:09

Perhaps other MPs are not available as much because they’ve got work to do.

Adamante · 06/01/2025 08:20

A poll of 2,237 people by Savanta and promoted by The Huffington Post of all sources 😁, does not convince me that half the nation believe Farage was responsible for the riots. And even if they did, that poll was carried out in August before we knew all the details of who was behind the Southport murders, and don't get me started on the obfuscation and cover ups around the perpetrator of that horrendous event. I'd like to see a much larger poll now we have all the information.

luckylavender · 06/01/2025 08:24

@Almn0etd - that would play right into his hands

Now we have all the information? There hasn't even been a trial yet. There's a process. You don't have the right to know everything.

Oh so now we don’t prosecute domestic politicians if they were to incite violence? Is that what you are saying? Since when has that been the case.

Honestly, these arguments are becoming more and more contrived and bizarre. Such is the irrational hatred for Farage. By all means criticise him, but coming out stuff like this is just immature and nonsensical.

Adamante · 06/01/2025 08:33

Now we have all the information? There hasn't even been a trial yet. There's a process. You don't have the right to know everything.

We know far more than we did when that poll was carried out. I note you jump to this rather than address the rest of the post and the lack of substance to your offered "evidence" - standard Grin

I'm more than happy to wait for the poll till after the trial though. And you're wrong, we the public, do have the right to know everything, that is what our legal system and trials of accused are precisely for.

Oh don’t we now? Comrade lucky lavender had spoken, we don’t have the right to know everything.

luckylavender · 06/01/2025 08:40

Honestly this is frightening.

Adamante · 06/01/2025 08:44

luckylavender · 06/01/2025 08:40

Honestly this is frightening.

What is? Or are you just doing that far left thing of pretending that opposing political opinions are terrifying/psychotic/shameful/end of days indicators?

BellissimoGecko · 06/01/2025 08:46

pinotnow · 05/01/2025 09:32

Absolutely- bu Farage gets coverage over and above what is warranted by the number of seats his party has and this has gone on for years, before he was even an MP. How much airtime do left-wing parties get, like the Green Party?

Yes, this, or the leader of the Lib Dems?? But bloody Farage is everywhere. Why?!

Xenia · 06/01/2025 08:49

The BBC always seems very very left wing to me (I vote Conservative). I didn't vote Reform but don't mind if the BBC has Nigel F on the news. The left get loads of coverage on the BBC. The leader of the Lib Dems Ed Davey does get coverage and I even saw him on the BBC's comedy news programme recently too.

luckylavender · 06/01/2025 08:50

@Adamante - no I'm doing that rule of law thing which takes precedence over what populist windbag politicians think we need.

dontcryformeargentina · 06/01/2025 08:55

floppybit · 05/01/2025 10:17

The BBC is so left leaning and biased I refuse to watch it anymore!

Same! I stopped watching them since Covid.. alternative media sources for me only

Ever astonished how all of sudden liberals care so passionately about national sovereignty. Its so out if character I find it hard to accept there's any sincerity in it.

Yes exactly. It's going to take a lot more than an appearance by Farage to fix that.
