Elon Musk and Racism

raincoatwarmcoatlongcoat · 03/01/2025 20:36

Inspired by the other long running thread. I keep reading that he tweets and retweets racist comments. Can anyone link any or all of them please? I see tweets over illegal immigration, as opposed to immigration, but not racist?

So instead of opinions please can people post the actual words used or retweeted? Or anything he said in interviews, word for word?

Thanks!

It means I don’t trust you or your motives.

It’s not my fault if you have trust issues.

Who is “she” - you’ll forgive me if I have an interest in not introducing laws into the country I live in that would see me beheaded.

Or are you in favour of people with alternative belief systems being beheaded? There’s a running thread on here for witches, maybe ask them whether they want sharia law. Maybe we’ll get away with 1000 lashes. But these comments are in response to the irony of someone claiming an anti Muslim witch hunt.

my motives in relation to the gangs raping and torturing young girls for them to stop! To do that we need to understand exactly why they are happening!

The fact u just wrote 2 paragraphs on 'sharia law' like ur genuinely concerned that its going to happen , that isn't going anywhere near the British goverment is like the use of fear mongering in real time. 😳

So Tahir Ali didn’t stand up in Parliament asking for a blasphemy law? One that was phrased so it would only protect Islam? Was that my imagination?

He didn’t ask for a blasphemy law, he asked for a law against desecration of holy books. It’s fine to disagree and object to this but call it what it was.

You do realise there are already blasphemy laws in Northern Ireland to protect Christianity right?

What he actually said was
“commit to introducing measures to prohibit the desecration of all religious texts and the prophets of the Abrahamic religions”.

look at the second part “prophets of the Abrahamic religions” this specifically excludes the Christian Jesus. Will he protect my religious texts talking about witchcraft and magic?

ToWhitToWhoo · 10/01/2025 23:32

It wasn't phrased to protect only Islam; it was to prevent insults to ANY Abrahamic religion, so also Christianity and Judaism. (And by implication to religious texts in general.)

I am totally opposed to ANY blasphemy laws, but they aren't the same thing as Sharia law.

And let's note that blasphemy laws were only abolished in England and Wales in 2008; in Scotland in 2024; and still exist in Northern Ireland. Though I suppose these laws could be applied to any religion, they were mainly directed at insults to Christianity. The person who invoked the blasphemy laws most in England in modern times was Mary Whitehouse.

I think Tahir Ali was talking a load of rubbish, and that blasphemy laws should never be reintroduced; but it's not something exclusive to Islam, or to any one religion.

Well I’m glad you agree that laws that limit free speech in religion aren’t desirable esp where the implication under sharia law would be death. I hace a number of questions for you if you don’t mind

  1. the latest figures I could find (2015) suggests around 1/4 of Muslims would like Sharia law in the UK.(there seems to be another poll from the same time that indicates 40% support unspecified aspects of sharia law are introduced) As I mentioned such laws would include me being beheaded being lashed 1000 times for the contents of my bookcase.and what’s on my altar. Can you see why this worries me? That effectively 1/4 of Muslims, in the UK approve of that?
  2. Even if Sharia law was never to be allowed in the UK we see its impacts, a little boy and his family receiving death threats for accidentally damaging the quaran. I think the teacher who drew a picture of Mohammed is still in hiding with his family in fear of his life! People are effectively trying to implement Sharia law whether or not it’s on the statute books. Tahir Ali is adding fuel to this fire by this request -he should have had the whip withdrawn don’t you agree?
  3. Bu saying Abrahamic prophets he is excluding Jesus as he is not a prophet, he is the son of God to Christian’s, to Jews he is a false messiah, only to Islam is Jesus a prophet. Alternatively he is trying to enshrine Muslim theology into British law. How would you address that?
  4. why did he only mention Abrahamic religions. This would indicate that he thinks attacks on non- abrahamic religions are ok. I would like to ask him why he thinks Hinduism should not be protected. Can he confirm Satanism and Wicca should be equally protected under the law as should every single religious belief.Would he come to my house with a leading Iman and confirm he fully supports me practicing my beliefs and that he is perfectly ok with my practices/books etc and should never suffer and consequences. He doesn’t need to agree with my beliefs, just my right to practice my beliefs peacefully without fear.actually I wouldn’t want him to do that because it would make me wort for mine and my family’s safety - quite legitimately given the incidents above.
  5. these figures suggest many Muslims would like to live separately, 15% would like to see the teaching of the arts banned - how would you make sure full integration into British society and values is achieved?
  6. Around 50% don’t support the legal status of homosexuality how are you going to reduce that to match the views of the general population (c 5%)?
I have linked the guardians contemporary reporting on these figures to alleviate the. Inevitable “Right wing media” mantra www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/apr/11/british-muslims-strong-sense-of-belonging-poll-homosexuality-sharia-law

There already is Shariah Law in the UK simply because of familial and social reasons such as Muslims need their marriages to be recognised in the eyes of God, hence they have a Shariah compliant marriage called a ‘nikkah’ and are issued a certificate of ‘nikkah’. Similarly, Jewish marriages in the UK are authorised by the Office of the Chief Rabbi and local Beth Din (Jewish court).

This doesn’t mean Muslims want to behead you or lash you.

Feelingathomenow · 11/01/2025 08:39

PeppyGreenFinch · 11/01/2025 08:26

Yea I am scared by so many people supporting a legal system that sets out people with my belief system can be beheaded. Or can you categorically refute that. Because I would be happy if there was no one in the UK who would support that legal system or there weren’t instances of people effectively using those values leading to a child getting death threats.

noblegiraffe · 11/01/2025 08:41

As to 'why does Musk's motives matter when he is shining a light on the grooming gangs and their victims?'

If he had just posted 'I'd read about these grooming gangs in the UK, isn't what happened to the poor victims terrible, has justice been served and the problem solved?' And his motives were hidden and secret then you might have a point. But because he isn't just doing that, he's saying 'look what happened in Britain, isn't Britain terrible, and isn't Keir Starmer basically guilty of supporting mass rape and isn't Jess Phillips a rape genocide apologist and isn't it awful Tommy Robinson is in prison for talking about this and he should be freed immediately and there should definitely be an inquiry because that would find out that Starmer is complicit mass rape which is what I really want because I really want him gone and Nigel Farage, no, wait, Rupert Lowe as Prime minister of the UK', he isn't shining a light on grooming gangs, he is setting people up to be murdered and for more riots.

Instead of sparking sensible discussion about the issue, he has deliberately whipped up unhelpful division, hate and political unrest. Which was his aim. His motives matter because of his intended outcome, which wasn't about grooming gangs and their victims and in fact distracts from any sort of sensible conversation about them, and he got what he wanted. Are you happy with that?

noblegiraffe · 11/01/2025 08:44

Oh, and it also matters because he is the richest man in the world and the right-hand man of the president-elect of the US.

. I have previously linked to the rules of Sharia law on witchcraft magic and the punishments that have been carried out in Saudi (in of the most “progressive Muslim territories” around 1/4 of UK Muslims support Sharia law in the UK (40% support some aspects) so I went with the 1/4 supporting Sharia law which would include the rules on witchcraft/magic. Can you find anything that excludes those rules for those respondents?

noblegiraffe · 11/01/2025 08:54

"I'm happy with Musk shining a light on grooming gangs because it gives me an opportunity to voice my fears that the UK will be overrun with Muslims and I will be beheaded because I am a witch" isn't quite the motive for posting I was expecting.

Do I think sharia law will be fuly on the uk statute books in the next 10-20 years - no. Do I believe that the research points to around 1/4 of UK Muslims believing it should be - yes that’s:what the linked research sets out. Do I think people believing this puts certain people at risk again just look at those cases I mentioned.

Given my beliefs and practices around magic I feel at risk. Given the research and what has happened I don’t think that is unreasonable.

I think this is where the reviews are lacking, what are the beliefs of those who took part in the child rape gangs. What is their desire to be fully integrated into UK life? This is so important in working towards a solution to this issue.

Do I believe the majority of Muslims would want me beheaded, no of course not! Having lived in a highly Muslim area did I worry about which of the 1 in 4 supported that legal system - yes. Did it make me concerned if my DS was gay that 50% thought it should be illegal -yes. Given the statistics can you tell me my worries were unfounded?

Where have I said anything about Britain being “overrun with Muslims”? Nowhere!
