My prediction is the air wrap is at the hotel in a Schrödinger's cat type situation

I had to google Schrodinger's cat (the cat that could be either dead or alive) and confess that I still don't understand ...... So you mean the Dyson could either be dead or alive, or perhaps stolen by the cat????!

So when CF realised she had left the air wrap behind, and contacted the hotel to no avail, why did she not inform @Langarg?

she waited weeks for op to ask for her air wrap to be returned before telling her it was “lost”.

I suggest cf thought op would just suck up this unlikely tale, and is quite shocked that her story hasn’t been accepted.

Im not sure what driving all the way to the hotel is going to achieve? But of course this could be another fib, she could tell op that’s what they’ve done, but in reality she’s just popped to her bedroom to repack the air wrap after having full use of it over the festive period.

Maybe the friend is now in the same situation as the OP, and this thing has cascaded like some sort of nightmare infinity mirror.

If the OP waits long enough, she only then needs to borrow an Air Wrap from some random colleague to get her original one back, which she may then keep. I think that’s called the ‘circular economy’. 😀

Yes I've said this I think she really should do this as it looks like she has took it and will never admit it or give the money either way. Also she needs to do more than give a look of contempt if she dies find it there! I would smack her round the face with it if I found it there!

Did you ask the hotel about their blue carpets and the exact shade? I would have in writing then sent her their reply. 😇

My point is so complex I don't really understand it but I think I mean that being undiscovered, the air wrap can be both there (at the hotel), and not there. 😅

We need a petition or an email to call for Dyson UK to step up and replace it meantime… least they can do with all the free advertising. He actually moved Dyson head office to Singapore, after Singapore had just signed a trade deal with the EU.

Hmm, before the 'oh we can't travel due to the weather warning' reply, I thought she had the Airwrap and was stalling so she could use it again..

However now I think she has lent it to someone else/allowed someone else to take it home with them and is stalling to try and track it down/get the person who took it to give it back... possibly they damaged it/broke it or are even telling her lies about its whereabouts.

This might explain why she feels shes not really responsible for paying up for it (I mean its mostly because shes a CF of course), people tend to feel responsible if they left it/they damaged it... and if they lent it to someone else, then they feel like the responsibility is now on the new loanee... Of course it isn't, it is still their problem!

Considering the wedding seems barebones, and she couldn’t afford a hairdresser (hence asking OP to loan her the Dyson), I doubt she took out wedding insurance.

Plus if friend can’t afford £400 to replace it, I’m thinking she would be unwilling to claim on home insurance as the excess and premium increases may cost more than that. That’s if we
take her at her word that the item is lost/stolen by a third party as opposed to her.

As much as I'd like to see the OP back with her airwrap (or a proper replacement) I think it'd down to her CF 'friend' to sort it out, not Dyson themselves
