Any luck in London's M&S?
We went at 11 this morning to Kensington High Street one and it was too late/too early for yellow labels on Christmas food, though plenty of regular stuff with yellow labels.

Ha! If your local M and S is Kensington High Street, you are probably RICH!

Too late now, but I work in Morrison’s and we had sides of salmon £12 down to £1.20 (plus another 10% with the loyalty app).
I got all my pastries for breakfast tomorrow with between 50-75% discount. And fresh turkeys were half price from just after lunch.

Waffle19 · 24/12/2024 21:56

...no? Not necessarily? And even if they are rich doesn't everyone love a bargain?

I think that branch was the closest to Grenfell Tower.

We got loads of nargain at 5pm today! Over the moon, the freezer is full :)

The best part of this is food doesn't end up on landfill anyway.

We get a bargain and food doesn't go to waste

Happy days.

I bought a leg of lamb reduced from £24 to £8 in booths at around 4pm. was very pleased with that

You download the app and reserve a bag
Usually between £2-5 depending on which one
It gives you an idea so it might say fresh food or pastries
Turn up, tell them you've reserved a bag and they'll ask you to swipe on the app to say you've collected it

They do sometimes get cancelled if there's not enough food

I like the carvery ones!

SkankingWombat · 24/12/2024 22:09

We went to Waitrose about 2pm as we were walking past any way. There were lots of uncollected Entertaining orders at 60-65% off, from which we've got some seafood and a beef joint. The fish counter also had some great discounts, so we picked up 4 trout fillets for £5 and 2 tuna steaks, again for £5 which will both go in the freezer. We also brought home some mince pies at about 60% off.
I'm really happy with that along with the other items I have slowly collected and frozen when seen yellow stickered over the last month (Coquilles St Jacques, stuffing, chipolatas, bacon).

Sunshineandoranges · 24/12/2024 22:12

Thanks..after the great food standoff in marks today I’ll give it a try.

My haul was from M&S Kew (technically London, though not central!).

Doubledded123 · 24/12/2024 22:12

Wax there 6pm, loads of bargains.. coq st jacque reduced from 20 to 6. Not even busy!

Starseeking · 24/12/2024 22:15

@Noodlehen I've clearly had one to many Baileys' since getting home from M&S, and confused Olio and Too Good to Go, both of which I use regularly.

I've only ever seen M&S (petrol station and train station branches) on Too Good to Go. The bags are usually £4.99, and there's loads in them.

Olio is indeed the free app, genuine apologies for causing any confusion!

I might actually go back to M&S on Friday as they'll have loads of stuff dated for 27/12/25 which they didn't mark down today.

Only issue is I'll have 2 DC with me (they've gone to their Dad's for Christmas) and DC who has an autism diagnosis can get overwhelmed in busy situations, so it's probably best I give it a miss!

Better than being chucked because it wasn't bought.

Use your local Community Fridge, it's all free in ours. Picked up mange tout, 3 packs of noodles, pack of fresh casserole veg, pack of carrots, 7 fresh pastries, 2 frozen shepherd pies, pack of pop dots, 7 pears. I could have got a lot more but would have wasted it as there's only two of us.
