Is this the year when Mumsnetters finally admit that they are little balls of disgustingness.

You're grown adults. You don't HAVE to eat them. You can enjoy food.

Also stop using them to ruin bacon

I love a sprout. 😁

Peaceandquietandacuppa · 24/12/2024 12:55

No way! It’s not Christmas without sprouts, sorry. 💨

and I like the taste btw!

AnneLovesGilbert · 24/12/2024 12:55

I don’t mind them but we haven’t had them for years as no one else likes them. We’re having garlic cabbage instead.

Crikeyalmighty · 24/12/2024 12:56

I love them - but only fried or steamed

Brefugee · 24/12/2024 12:57

i love sprouts. Steamed first, then tossed in butter & Marmite. Yum

Is this the year when Mumsnetters finally admit that not everybody has to enjoy the same things? You're grown adults. You don't HAVE to eat anything you don't want to. You can enjoy the food of your choice and be pleased for others enjoying something else instead.

Merry Christmas! I have a pile of sprouts needing attention, as it happens. Yum!

JusteanBiscuits · 24/12/2024 12:58

LOVE them! Roast them is the best way. This year I will be roasting them with garlic and parmesan.

Elphame · 24/12/2024 12:58

Love sprouts and would eat them every day if I could.

I got the last of them in Waitrose yesterday. Please don't buy them if you don't like them - leave them for people like me!

DDivaStar · 24/12/2024 13:00

Love them 😊

macshoto · 24/12/2024 13:00

Sprouts with chestnuts and bacon, what's not to love?

The sprouts part obviously! 😛

It took me until I was about 35 before I started to like them, and I actively eat them by choice now.

Lobstercrisps · 24/12/2024 13:03

We roast sprouts whenever I see them in the shops. Eat them cold with my salads for lunch.
Why would you dislike sprouts?

WrylyAmused · 24/12/2024 13:04

Sprouts are great.
Sprouts boiled into oblivion à la grandparents' generation, less so.

Try them with pancetta and chestnuts, or lemon zest and herbs or nuts, plain with butter, shredded in a stir fry etc.

We eat them all year round, in lots of different ways.

Pan fried with soy, oyster sauce, spring onions and garlic is a favourite. J

Catza · 24/12/2024 13:04

I'd rather sprouts than turkey...

Happyinarcon · 24/12/2024 13:05

I love them, but would have a difficult time explaining to anyone else why they should try them.

Scutterbug · 24/12/2024 13:06

They are lovely fried with bacon, sorry!

Sprouts are the king of vegetables.

JoshLymanSwagger · 24/12/2024 13:06

I love sprouts. Add in some stuffing and I could probably start my own gas fired power station. Grin

cortex10 · 24/12/2024 13:06

Only DH likes them in our house - nevertheless he still refers to them as the 'Devil's testicles'.

Seeline · 24/12/2024 13:07

Love sprouts - just briefly boiled.
I have to do extra as they are a fundamental part of our traditional bubble and squeak on Boxing Day too 😆

Sprouts with bacon equals heaven.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 24/12/2024 13:08

I love sprouts!
But boy do they make me fart.

MsWillis · 24/12/2024 13:09

Something happened to my sense of taste when I was pregnant, many years ago, and I suddenly started eating them. Have loved them ever since. I'm neither proud nor ashamed, but I do like them.
