Are there any conspiracy theories you believe in?

Inspired by another thread

I find conspiracy theories really interesting. I have never ‘believed’ any of them, more enjoy discussing them and how likely it seems that they could be true. I also think it’s more far fetched to believe that everything we have ever been told or ever will be told is the whole truth.

Are there any CTs you believe in? Lead me down a rabbit hole please!

Covid probably was planned by the Chinese.

I also am not convinced diana death was accidental.

Covid was funded by the USA not China. The same CIS that hooked its own citizens on drugs to fund wars... Facts not fiction.

Yeah that’s how groupthink, multinational influence and financial heirs by works. It’s not rocket science.

Covid was real. Produced in a lab in Wuhan and leaked from there, as confirmed by the FBA now. It was never going to be a major threat to anyone young or without core morbidities. But it was designed to borrow and print trillions in the name of compliant, docile western taxpayer. In other words, trillions were stolen. And it was funneled to government lobbyists of which big pharma was a major player.

Sorry but it's co-morbidities, not core. It's just you keep writing it wrongly so I thought I'd do you a favour. Cheers.

Diana would have survived if she’d been wearing a seatbelt. Simple as that. No conspiracy.

The moon landings clearly aren’t a conspiracy - literally THOUSANDS of people would have to have been on it. It’s such utter nonsense that none of them would have spilled the beans by now 😂.

Diana: no seat belt, driver had taken alcohol/drugs, and was speeding

My mum is a conspiracy theory obsessive & I believe a few & enjoy reading others, but she takes it way too far. She has read Goncalo Amaral's books as she knows Portuguese, & believes there was some element of child abuse going on within the McCann circle.

I don't believe this myself w regard to the mcCanns, but there was something she showed me where a friend of the mcCanns said she'd refused to go on the holiday bc one of the men who did go had made paedophilic comments (I don't think in the mcCanns' hearing). I think it's possible that certain of the mcCanns' friends were not who the mcCanns thought they were. But that certainly doesn't mean there was any further connection w the case. Even if there were, I am certain the mcCanns did nothing wrong.
Amaral himself behaved terribly in the case of Joana Cipriano. Doesn't mean he's lying about everything, & the claim about the friend didn't come directly from him.

I believe it was ‘landed’ at the US base on Diego Garcia & possibly resprayed but I have no idea where the passengers went.

There was a man who worked for IBM called Philip Wood. He was on that flight and sent a photo to his girlfriend. But it was black - no image….or so it seemed.
He supposedly hid his phone when getting off the plane, taking a photo in a solitary cell. However, the phone data showed it was taken from the island of Diego Garcia.

Who knows if it’s true!

Edited

I read the Philip Wood story. It says he believed the plane was being hijacked so hid his mobile phone in his backside - obviously, I mean who wouldn't respond to a potential terrorist situation by stuffing their phone up their arse?

Then he sent one single message from the pitch-dark cell in which he was being held. Again, it's entirely natural that, grabbing your only chance to get a message out via your shit-smeared phone, you'd post a blank photo, anonymously ... to troll site 4chan. Makes perfect sense!

(He didn't send it to his girlfriend: the photo originally appeared on 4chan/pol, the 'politically incorrect' board.)

Why the snarky reply? She is allowed to not believe it. Why does it trigger you if she doesn't?

Building a pyramid/colosseum/straight road is impressive...but it's not the same as claiming to have travelled almost 400,000 km to the moon, hop off the spaceship, video it, and then travel the same distance back.

Honestly I don't think the "we didn't have the technology at the time" argument stands up to much scrutiny.

The first commercial flight was in 1914 and by the 1930s, a regular member of the public could enjoy a trans-atlantic flight.

By the end of 50s, the first satellites had been launched into space.

Notwithstanding that I firmly believe in the moon landings, I can't really understand why someone would even think that we didnt have the technology at the time (particularly given the resources being thrown at it).

Mel Gibson starred in a movie called "Conspiracy Theory", about 30 years ago I think. He subscribed to pamphlets about how the Royal Family were lizards, etc etc. He was always going to the police and demanding that they do something. Then one day he discovered an actual conspiracy. I only saw it once, a long time ago, but I remember it being very entertaining.

Urgh my mum loves that movie...she agreed w all the conspiracies his character believed in..

I'm referring to the rockets and moon landers. One of the rockets had been opened up when we visited. Extremely thin metal on both the doors and fuselage from what I could see. Your average supermarket trolley looked more likely to attempt successful re-entry into earth's atmosphere than what was on display. I would seriously question the ability of the craft to survive the journey. Hadn't questioned it until I saw them but does make me consider the conspiracy theories.

The “rockets” aren’t used for re-entry. Anything designed for use in zero gravity will look different because that’s the laws of physics - it’s not designed for the same forces you expect to see at ground level on planet Earth. (A science teacher is losing the will to live here.)

So you think they just mocked up these flimsy items as part of the grand conspiracy and hoped that nobody would notice that small problem, and now you've spotted it, and NASA are now going "Drat, wish we'd spent more than $700 covering up the hoax of the century, we might have been able to fool this sharp-eyed tourist with no experience of aerospace engineering"?

But if you really think you've stumbled on something, by all means get some investigative reporter to look at it. It would be the story of the millennium, and those reporters surely can't all be in the pay of the establishment. 🤷‍♂️

By the way, the re-entry technology is exactly the same that had been used for manned space flight for 10 years prior. But perhaps you don't believe that Yuri Gagarin orbiter the earth either?

MerryMaker · 23/12/2024 00:58

I believe Diana was pregnant with Al Fayed's baby.
The tabloids in Britain the week before her death were reporting that she was pregnant. She did not confirm or deny it. Her autopsy was not released. An autopsy report would have confirmed her pregnancy.
I think the Royal family got this fact covered up so they could claim A; Fayed meant nothing to her.

RisingSunn · 23/12/2024 01:02

Currently 500,000 children are missing/unaccounted for in the US and I think a major trafficking ring operates with the help of children services over there.

It's more dangerous to be in a hospital than to stay away from it. Hospitals are death camps.

Oh this one has to be a joke. Do you know why people are in hospital? Because they are sick, ill, have been in an accident, have a disease, are very elderly, have broken a bone, have meningitis , a viral infection etc
So , yes more people die in hospital than other places. Most people at home or at a restaurant or a pub don't tend to have any of these conditions, so go home just fine.
Just when you think people can't get more silly someone pops up with "hold my beer".

I truly believe Hitler didn't kill himself, he fled to Argentina and lived out the rest of his life under a fake name.

It's a fact that a lot of Nazis did this, so it doesn't make sense that he wouldn't do the same.

You don't think the planes existed? At all? I was working for American Airlines at the time. I lost colleagues, friends on that plane. As part of the CARE team I was in the US dealing with the families of passengers.. Probably the most traumatic and difficult time of my life. I had 3 months off work to recover.

What a stupid thing to say. (Or did my colleagues not exist either?).

I can't find the bunch of flowers picture but you deserve one. These "oh but that never happened" sorts of conspiracy theories about terrorist attacks and disasters are absolutely the pits. The people who start them should have to spend the rest of their lives cleaning up crime scenes or working in A&E.

Oh and I have my very own small scale conspiracy theory.

I believe opticians, optometrists and the optical industry are deliberately attempting to market "myopia" as a worrying health condition which needs to be fought using more expensive lenses.

A friend whose son has always had glasses for his short sight told me very seriously that he has now been diagnosed with...myopia. She is genuinely worried about this and has bought the new lenses (heavily advertised on Mumsnet) which may or may not change the trajectory of his vision. But there is a definite effort to create alarm and anxiety about a very common and fairly benign condition with the goal of selling more profitable lenses.

Surely it's more likely your friends son's vision has just deteriorated to the point they are now calling it moderate or high myopia? I've worn glasses for nearly 30 years because I'm severely short-sighted (about -8 last time I checked) and I've never heard of this!

Hellohelga · 23/12/2024 01:17

Hold on, we don’t even have the technology for manned moon landings now. The European Space Agency projects have all stalled despite collaborations with Japan and Canada. The Chinese are aiming to do it by 2030. Several countries are running lunar programmes and have landed robots, but that’s it.

And yet those clever Americans did it 50 years ago without any collaborations and now they’ve lost the blueprints of how they did it?

MerryMaker · 23/12/2024 01:25

The missing children thing is based on the amount who go missing every year. Most are only missing for a few hours or 24 hours e.g. teenager does not come home from school and instead goes off with friends and does not answer their phone. Parents ring police, and the teenager is officially missing, although they return home a few hours later.

TBH, My eyes were fine , perfect , for 45 years. I was told everyone should have everything checked at 45 years. I was given the mildest prescription possible, I;m now 54 and can't read a book without glasses. I'm not convinced that it might be a case of the cure is worse than the problem ( for some people). Over the next 8 years my prescription has got stronger. Cannot read small print at all, have to get large print books or use glasses. My 89yo mother has better eyesight than me and never wears her glasses. ( she was prescribed but she's a stubborn dear and just refused to wear them) I appreciate this does not apply to everyone.

As a mum whose child was left brain damaged by hospital negligence at birth and who has four other children 2 no hypoxic events in labour 2 with who both have autism and 14 years of meeting mums of autistic children…they nearly all had hypoxic events in labour.
my sons was catastrophic and I was told it was one of those things.
it wasn’t. The consultant was highly negligent.
I strongly believe that these lack of oxygen/baby not happy events cause slight or more so brain damage. I strongly believe it’s all covered up by staff at the time and not taken seriously.
given the issues in maternity it wouldn’t be a shock.

MsAmerica · 23/12/2024 01:37

As an American, I think there was a conspiracy surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy. Hillary Clinton also spoke, years ago, about a "vast right-wing conspiracy" and she certainly turned out to be right.

There seem to be a lot of conspiracies related to leaders in Third World countries. Also, I remember this interesting documentary about Dag Hammarskjöld.
Film-Forward – Cold Case Hammarskjöld
