Oh thank god for the update. I like the vintage feel but that skirt looks about as good quality as a fancy dress tutu.

You are right, and I was joking. I have looked at those dresses before and wondered what they were like. It does seem odd that some are 2K upwards, and others like this are not expensive at all. When I finally actually got married I bought a ex catwalk one (from a wedding dress fashion show) which was not expensive.

weddings are a total scam, as soon as you attach the word 'wedding', every business sees dollar signs. this is intended to be a teens prom dress hence why its cheap.

same with venues, rent an air bnb for one night to host the reception and itll be a few hundred, same property for a wedding venue, and the owners want thousands.

You're going to have to have a size
6 body to pull that off and even then it's
Going to have to be perfectly styled. You're going to have to tape it to you because it's not going to shift with you.

saying i'd have to be anorexic to wear a wedding dress is a slightly unhinged opinion. i'm a size 8/10, which is what this dress is.

if i put a crinoline under it it would improve it, which is what i would do.

It's pretty. I was engaged before I met the man who became my DH. Only by a couple of years. The frocks I was imagining when Froggy was in my sights were very different to the one I bought and wore.

When I tried on the one, it was comfortable and I knew DH would like it. I tried on many. Some were beautiful but rather like meeting DH I knew the one when I found the one.

Good luck @lover99. Your time will come.

The eBay seller must be trying to figure out why it’s had 6000+ people view it in 24 hours!

I don’t think it’s tacky, OP. It’s a very distinctive look, but not a tacky one.

KirstenBlest · 18/12/2024 21:35

Nah, she's wondering who on here will buy it off her, aren't you @lover99 Wink

user1492809438 · 18/12/2024 22:21

Just noticed it's a size 8, is that US8 or UK8? Big difference!

Isnt a US 8 a UK 12?

KirstenBlest · 18/12/2024 23:05

Also a vintage 8 will not be a M& S size 8

Delphiniumandlupins · 18/12/2024 23:07

Build buy it and they will come

Saying that a size 6 must be anorexic is slightly unhinged too. Lots of people are size 6 without any sign of eating disorders. And I say this as a 12.

GucciBear · 18/12/2024 23:28

Be great as a pantomime costume.

A US size 6 is a UK size 10, from what pp are saying. Sounds right to me.

Topsyturvy78 · 19/12/2024 01:03

It reminds me of a child's dressing up dress. But if you like it go for it.

BobbyBiscuits · 19/12/2024 01:10

It's not to my taste. The top part looks like it would be nice if the sewing was really tight and professional, and the beads/ stones were good quality. The skirt looks kind of flimsy. Like it doesn't match the top half. It's hard to judge the quality. But if you like it then you should have it. It's not hideous or anything.

Yes.And if you’re a UK size 8 then you’d be a U.S size 4

I love buying US sized clothing.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/12/2024 06:52

My dress had been used for the promotional shoot. It was just over 1/4 of the price of the rrp.

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/12/2024 06:53

oh and no, I don’t like the dress. It looks like 2 different dresses.

Easipeelerie · 19/12/2024 07:26

It’s not very nice to my taste. Where it would sit on you means you’d need to be very thin and hipless, to cope with the contrast between the tight top and flared skirt.

Lemonvalley · 19/12/2024 08:48

I love it!
I’d change the straps though.
