Outdoor flashing Christmas lights are obnoxious & tacky

One of my neighbours has recently moved in and has just put up the most hideous Christmas lights, red and yellow then flashing to blue and white, with aggressive unpleasant flashing back and forth. Fortunately they are on the same side of the road as I am so I barely see them, I see the lovely lights on the other side of the road that don't look like a tacky flashing casino. Is it just me or does anyone else dislike these lights?

Flashing lights make my eyes hurt (astigmatism, woo!) so I prefer static. I can deal with the ‘house dipped in superglue and rolled in the tat aisle of Aldi’ look, just please stop the flashing!

I read somewhere last week (can’t remember where soz) about these very bright flashing lights causing epileptic seizures and inducing Migraines.

I don't normally go mad decorating outside but a really good friend died very suddenly 2 weeks ago and in memory of him because he really loved Christmas and decorated every single room and ceiling in his house, i have gone a bit wild this year but i refuse to have blue lights outside.

Flashing Christmas lights are like wind chimes - antisocial and un-neighbourly.

I just can't see what's festive or Christmassy about making your house look like an amusement arcade?
