I'm 36 and according to my sister my car ages me ten years. Wtaf?! It's an Audi a6 estate. So yes, a "mum car". But is this a thing?!

Ah my DM used to have one of those in the 80s I used to travel on the parcel shelf as DBro got the passenger seat. Not terribly safe but that didn't seem to matter.

43 and a Skoda fabia the ‘colour edition’. Red with black roof. Used to drive a seat Leon FR only last year. This is now solely DH’s car but I do drive it sometimes

Edited

Me too, the same Fabia and coincidentally my last car was a Seat Leon.
Sometimes I drive DH’s Karoq. I’m 61 though.

Oganesson118 · 15/12/2024 17:44

39 and we have a Skoda Octavia and a Seat Ibiza. Which one we use depends on the journey. I don't really care what people think of me based on the vehicle I use to get from a to b. Probably for the best as it's like the Geneva Car Convention outside my daughter's school most mornings.

44, second hand ford fiesta. I do not give a shiny shit about ‘car status’. I will drive my car until it’s dead and no longer worth fixing, just like the last one (second hand Nissan micra).

BrunchBarBandit · 15/12/2024 17:44

I just bought a ford kuga. Very practical and easy to get in and out of with my dodgy hips

Ponderingwindow · 15/12/2024 17:45

I’m early 50s and American. I drive the same car as every other mother in my area, an expensive, light grey, SUV.

Meadowfinch · 15/12/2024 17:46

61, I drive a small Volvo hatch.

As a one car household, I asked the RAC man which car in my price range was the car he least often needed to rescue. I took his advice.

Edizzler25 · 15/12/2024 17:46

33, Kia sportage. Upsized slightly from Nissan juke ready for arrival of second child.

autumn1610 · 15/12/2024 17:47

37, and a golf

Simonjt · 15/12/2024 17:47

I’m also 36, I drive a civic type r

EucalyptusAndPeppermint · 15/12/2024 17:48

I drive one of these depending on the weather, Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mini Countryman and most days a quad. If the weather is especially nice my BMW Z3 roadster convertible is allowed out of the garage. DH has a few vintage cars that come out once in a while too.

Forgot my age, I’m early 50s

Petrine · 15/12/2024 17:48

I’m 69 and drive a VW Touareg

Loafbeginsat60 · 15/12/2024 17:50

44 Range Rover Sport

I have several gilets but I'm not a wanker - I live on a farm....

Dh is 43 and has the new defender - also owns many gilets.

TheCatCameBack112 · 15/12/2024 17:50

43 and a 7 year old fiesta that I bought as the kids were insured to drive on it as learners /new drivers and it was practical and cheap. I'm going to trade in next year, probably for an electric mini. I don't care about cars with the expectation of them being fairly reliable, cheap to run and easy to park. Dh has a qashqai that I drive a few times a week which is very comfortable and high spec with all of the bits.

LadyoftheCheeses · 15/12/2024 17:50

29 Jaguar XF, had it since I was 27 and get a lot of 'old man car' digs but I love it. Also have as shared cars an Audi A6 Avant and BMW i4 so I guess it balances out. DP is 31, for reference.

TheKoalaWhoCould · 15/12/2024 17:51

41, VW Golf. I had a very elderly polo which I loved, replaced with the golf when the polo died. I don’t mind it, but I miss my old car!

BraveFacesEveryone · 15/12/2024 17:52

I’m 37 and have a Mazda CX-30, which I got when I was travelling a lot for work, but is now mostly parked outside my house cos I wfh.

DH, 41 has a Mitsubishi ASX.
