Biden has pardoned his son because his conviction was a "miscarriage of justice".

Is this the total end of standards and even a pretence at integrity in public life? This is a president, who admittedly like all the others, allowed innocent people to be executed in their joke of a justice system. What a hypocrite.

That is so bad, I bet Democrats would never do that. Oh wait..

Clinton pardoned his coke dealing half brother for a start. We can talk about Obama if the lunatics want. His list was loooong.

They are pedophiles if it is true what was on their computers. Sad reality. But with Bidden sniffing kids hair it sounds about right.

Hunter and his dad wouldn’t look out of place at a white party.

Tbh I don’t blame him. Biden knows full well that Trump is going to wreak havoc and fill every position of power with his acolytes. I’d hate to have a child in prison who would be at the mercy of the vengeful orange one. Trump has pardoned all sorts of criminals; at this point there really is no point in playing the nice guy and turning the other cheek.

This 100 💯 but frankly if trump was in charge if it was my child I would do the same
not really right at all but TRUMP is a lunatic

And yet, compared to trump, he's a saint.

For what it's worth:

"Statement from President Joe Biden
BRIEFING ROOM - STATEMENTS AND RELEASES
Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.
The charges in his cases came about only after several of my political opponents in Congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election. Then, a carefully negotiated plea deal, agreed to by the Department of Justice, unraveled in the court room – with a number of my political opponents in Congress taking credit for bringing political pressure on the process. Had the plea deal held, it would have been a fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter’s cases.
No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong. There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.
For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth. They’ll be fair-minded. Here’s the truth: I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice – and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision.
Executive Grant of Clemency
Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
President of the United States of America"

In a survey some time ago Americans voted used car dealers and politicians their least trustworthy fellow citizens. This was, of course, grossly unfair to car dealers.

The justice system has become a plaything for the elites. Seeing people here justifying it is grotesque. The rule of law is the cornerstone of liberal democracy and it is being trampled into the ground. Biden claimed to understand that a few months ago, when they were pursuing Trump in court: "No one is above the law" Biden said; except now, actually, his son is. Hypocrite.

Freud2 · 03/12/2024 19:01

Obama pardoned 2,000 people!

Edited

Absolutely. Some of these comments are wild.

RedToothBrush · 03/12/2024 19:07

Biden makes himself look like he fucking hates democracy when he does stuff like this.

It blows my mind

It's an error of judgement. A big one.

Obama pardoned 2,000 people!

He may have done.

But not his own son.

This is an abuse of power.

No its not, he has seen two sons die, he is saving his last son from Trump.

Perhaps if Trump wasn't so vengeful, none of this would have happened.

God people will justify anything for 'their side'.

The trouble is the precedence it sets which ENABLES and gives Trump the justification to do even worse!

You are totally right-this is an absolutely disgraceful decision and how on earth the US constitution allows random Presidents (with all their baggage - and criminal family members - to pardon ANYONE who has been through the justice system there is ridiculous and corrupt. Shame on the lot of them.. Biden is as bad as Trump.

CyanMaker · 03/12/2024 20:34

Nothing flew under the radar. The charges against Hunter have been broadcast on the news from the beginning. I know because I've heard it. I live in the U.S. Someone here mentioned that our government is a shit show. It's going to get a lot worse in January. All the people with any sense can't believe that Trump could even be allowed to run for president let alone be reelected. I'm actually embarrassed to hear what other countries think of our government. All respect has been lost.

CyanMaker · 03/12/2024 20:37

If Biden hated democracy he wouldn't have dropped out of the presidential race.

No, not "my side" i'm not an American and nor do i like Biden BUT i defy any parent to condemn their only surviving son to Trumps vindictiveness.... would you?

Ha ha at your last sentence, since when has Trump needed any justification to do exactly what he wants? "Grab their pussy's or Storm the Whitehouse" he does what he wants.

It was his wife, Neilia, and one year old daughter, Naomi, who died in the car crash. His son, Beau. died of glioblastoma in 2015.

There's this inability to be able to think

Hmm Biden's government have abused power in various ways and it's appalling

AND simultaneously think that shit Trumps even worse.

And this isn't a contradiction it's actually consistency and about standards in public life and a whole collapse in them across the board resulting in mass drops in public trust (which is reflected in actually polling on the subject).

This inability to be able to hold two thoughts in your head at the same time with any consistency and thought process to the justice, legal and political systems, seems to be like a virus that eats people's brains and turns them into zombies only capable of repeating someone else.

This is an interesting move, the public is now going to want to know exactly what his son got up to whereas previously it flew under the radar.

No it didn't. It was all over the news

Personally I DGAF, they voted in a felon so this should be small fry to them

AdventCarols · 03/12/2024 20:56

What has this got to do with the price of eggs?

Do you agree that Kier Starmer should also not have stood as he also hid financial dealings by misdescribing them on more than one occasion?

I can assure you that I CAN. And do. Your post isn't terribly clear tbh. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
